Listening to this brought tears to my eyes. I use to play Donkey Kong Country with my mother when I was little and this was her favorite song. She'd play that first underwater level over and over, just to hear that tune. Thank you so much for uploading, you are an inspiration.
It's talented people like you that i look up to... I basically started to learn piano to be able to play my favourite soundtracks just like you've done. Your music is incredibly beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for being so awesome!
Comparison: Katy Perry - Dark Horse almost 800 million. Well, majority's never represented the good things in the world :b (no generalisation here, obv)
I have no words. I honestly don't. This captures the surreality, the light hazy feel of those levels that had wonderfully calming music just so they had an easier time killing you. The gentle tones and soft melody all the way through is the sort of thing I could sleep or meditate to, and it deserves an accolade of 'better than the original.' Beautiful work, truly stunning. I can't throw my money at the screen fast enough.
Please for the love of all that is holy put some sheet music up for this arrangement! It's the best version of this song that I've ever heard and I'm struggling to learn it by ear.
This is unbelievable. I remember this game like it was yesterday! I always thought this music was so beautiful---the underwater levels were somehow both relaxing yet exciting. This is even better than the original. Thank you!
Ben Wenger What I meant was, it was written for the game’s water stage. But then the only water stages were terrifying, so they didn’t know what to do with it. Ended up on the stickerbush level.
Wow i know its been a long time since this video lol 8 years and the last hits have been a year ago but man this melody was the best thing on the snes ive ever heard. Not only that but country was the best thing on the snes and blew my tiny mind away with Rares milestone in 3d graphics. And with the sound track of this Japanese artist wow. To me it blew away mario, starfox link and all the big hits of the time. But honestly i must have played coral capers like 1000 times just to hear this rift. Amazing!!!
Of all the covers, this has to be the most enjoyable, good work, i like the fact you've put your own musical artistic flare to it, really enhances the original.
*hears the song for the first time and dies of the beauty of this song and replays over agian* *hears the real version and dies of nostalgia and replays over again* *replays both at the same time and is completely annihilated from the face of the earth* thats how my video impact was! what was yours?
This was my favorite song of the DKC series. I bought the trilogy soundtrack from Nintendo Power for this and other great ambient tracks from the games. I'm glad there are others who appreciate its simple beauty.
The kind of track that really reminds you why the piano is the greatest musical instrument, which also seems to invoke more emotion than any other...of course it helps when its something so beautifully nostalgic as DKC aquatic ambiance, played so fantastically well. Bravo to you KL!
Thank you kyle for being so phenomenal at piano, even though you dont get the amount of views I think you should your still my absolute favorite pianist of our generation.
I love this cover so much. Thanks for turning what is already such a beautiful and nostalgic piece of music into an even more emotionally-charged piano play.
I don't know what it is exactly about this track, but it remains my all time favorite VGM. Something about the time and place in my life when I first played DKC, simpler times. It's always just stuck with me and I don't think I could ever tire of it. It simultaneously makes me melancholic and nostalgic but also happy.
This song is great- you play it so smoothly and full of emotion. I wonder how it would sound with a saxophone accompaniment... I can hear it in my head even now.
Man, I've been watching your videos since 2006 i guess.. Always without comments. This is my first comment to you, Kyle! I'm a dutch producer of all kinds of EDM and between all the chaos of drums, percussion, synths and fx.. I listen to you. Along with some good friends and even my mom! Keep on going, but I know you will.. This is what you're made for. Enjoy life man.
This. This is all that ever needed to happen. One of my favorite video game tracks by one of my favorite TH-cam artists. I was going to request this but I didn't know if you would see my comment, but wow I'm so glad you uploaded this. Reminds me of a simpler time in my life, sitting around playing video games with my cousins and discovering all these new worlds contained in simple plastic cartridges. Thank you, I needed a good break from the fast pace of life.
I had discovered you two or three yeara ago through a friend sharing your old-timey piano medley video, which I still love. Funny to stumble onto your channel again searching for remixes of this song. The world is mysterious.
A few isn't enough! I'm so glad to hear you will make a video game CD! If I ever go back to Syracuse and find that Chinese restaurant that played your Kingdom Hearts tracks as their ambient music, I will tell them to buy your future CD ;) Keep up the amazing work.
Didn't have time to listen at first but I liked it anyway. No question about whether I will like a KL video or not. It's always a wonderful experience.
Thank you so much for posting videos like this. You inspired me to start playing piano with your talent, and it's already become a huge part of my life.
Besides the awesome playing; I love the set up. You have all three games there it seems and, even a SNES controller lol. That really put a nice little touch to the already awesome video!
This is absolutely my favorite track from any DK game. This tune is so...well, ambient. You did an amazing job with this rendition! Thank you and keep it up ;3
Going through your SNES game collection to find music? Lol. Well they bring back a lot of beautiful memories that's for sure. However I couldn't recall this track... and I've spend hundreds of hours on the Donkey Kong Country-series. For me, the most memorable track from Donkey Kong Country series was Jib Jig (DKC2). Anyway... nicely played. I love to hear more covers from games, and I know you made quite a bit of them already. You earned my subscribe on Banjo Kazooie cover long time ago :-)

Still watching this back 10 years on...and almost 30 years on from that beautiful game.
Listening to this brought tears to my eyes. I use to play Donkey Kong Country with my mother when I was little and this was her favorite song. She'd play that first underwater level over and over, just to hear that tune. Thank you so much for uploading, you are an inspiration.
Brought back some great memories
I’m glad to see other people’s are crying over nostalgic video game music 😏 I’m not alone
8 years in the future, I hope this comment finds you well, healthy, encouraged, and loved.
It's talented people like you that i look up to... I basically started to learn piano to be able to play my favourite soundtracks just like you've done. Your music is incredibly beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for being so awesome!

Photoshop I like that song, god forbid people have different tastes lmfao

I just uploaded the sheet music: musescore.com/user/14447476/scores/6232427
This sort of video may not be as popular as the others, but it's the kind of video that keeps the hardcore fans coming back.
This is unbelievable.
I remember this game like it was yesterday! I always thought this music was so beautiful---the underwater levels were somehow both relaxing yet exciting.
This is even better than the original. Thank you!
Beautiful!! You should also do Stickerbush Symphony. It's the "Aquatic Ambiance" of DKC2. :D
Strong disagree. That honor belongs firmly with Forest Interlude, but Stickerbrush Symphony is also really good.
Yes! That's my favorite one in the game!

Your hands are just hovering the keys, it doesn't seem that you even touch them... and sweet music emerges...
It's MAGIC !

Love this arrangement K-train!
looove that I can visualize that level in the game. .. you're an excellent pianist
This right here is the only reason I looked forward to the water levels when I played DKC. Thanks for bringing back all those memories.
*hears the song for the first time and dies of the beauty of this song and replays over agian*

Damn...that's beautiful right down to the soul.
donkey kong 1 and 2 were one of my favorite snes games...i miss those days!
One of the best musical themes of the series ...
And the better the sound quality and performance!
Beautifully played, even have the games and controller there Touches back on some good old memories.
This version of the song is the ONLY thing that cured my insomnia. Music is more than just a noise filler. It changes lives.
This was my favorite song of the DKC series. I bought the trilogy soundtrack from Nintendo Power for this and other great ambient tracks from the games. I'm glad there are others who appreciate its simple beauty.
The sound. It heals your soul ~.^

Holy crap! That just

Also. I'm subscribing to this guy. And I like how he's got his new games all laid out
I love this cover so much. Thanks for turning what is already such a beautiful and nostalgic piece of music into an even more emotionally-charged piano play.
the dynamics are so spot on.
I wish I could like this video more than once.
I don't know what it is exactly about this track, but it remains my all time favorite VGM. Something about the time and place in my life when I first played DKC, simpler times. It's warm and sunny here in Hawaii, but listening to this gave me full-on goosebumps.
And all of a sudden, for a moment, I was 5 years old again.. thank you :’)

Still coming back to listen to this wonderful performance in 2024, many years after discovering it for the first time. Who else?
