In all seriousness this is INSANELY helpful. As we progress we are teaching our intuitive mind to identify what looks "right" and "wrong" about the proportions we draw/paint. This really helps strengthen that process!

It's so interesting to me how almost every artist, when they're still learning, usually falls into one of two categories: knows anatomy well but can't properly render it, or knows values and lighting well but their proportions are off.

You can really tell how experienced this guy is… he always says there is a small thing that is keeping you from crossing the finish line and it’s so small yet weighs you down so much. But even though it is tiny, Sam can distinguish it from other things. Resulting in the art looking 10x better which is mesmerizing, the fact that he knows exactly what is keeping it from winning the race or reaching its full potential.
I know it sounds stupid but I find talents like this really admirable,

So far, the hardest thing for me has just been altering my art style, and that’s a personal choice because I just don’t like mine lol. Paper feel screen protectors and downloading additional brushes really helped me with the texture issue! I agree its definitely a foofy ponytail. They probably could've shaded it more to show the separation but I think the skull proportions were fine.

Yeah it really hurt when he was talking about it because there's a pretty well defined "circle" outlining back of the head. like that's definitely a ponytail with the headband. There are even some lines pulling back from the front saying that the hair is being pulled back into the ponytail.

Well done! I really appreciate how your corrections didn’t take away from the artists. I just finished watching some videos where the person completely overhauled the pieces that were reviewed . A lot of the charm and even the style of the originals were lost. The way you handle it actually leaves the artist’s work in tact. Love that! I certainly learned a thing or two here!

4:52 Hey I'm not entirely sure but i think the back part is not supposed to be part of the head. I think she's wearing her hair in a pony tail. So the head woud actually end following the line below the pink ribbon thing on the top of her head. Again maybe I'm not seeing this right, its just something I noticed.

    Heres a tip.
Either make a drawing incredibly realistic, like, borderline perfect. Or stylize it with, like, really crooked features, or rounded eyes, or something like that. And make sure the rest of the drawing matches. Also, Sam. The girl whos head was too big... It was the right size. She just had a ponytail.
