These rules for improvisation are golden! It's fascinating how the "yes, and..." approach can completely transform a scene. I remember once in a group improv session, someone started with a mundane setting, and by simply accepting it and adding to it, we ended up creating a hilarious spaceship adventure. It’s all about being present and engaged with your scene partners. Just like in the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x, letting go of perfection and embracing spontaneity can lead to unexpected joy and connection! Keep those laughs coming!
The first time I did improv about a year ago, I was one of three people in an assignment, well, more of a lesson. Person one (me) would 'set the stage' by saying something, while at the same time nominating person two, who would say "yes but..." Person three would jump in and add a plot twist to end the scene. Anyway, so I got up and said to person 2, "hey, can you hand me that screwdriver over there?" 2: "Sure, but I don't think that's the right tool" *moment of somewhat awkward silence as I work on the imaginary car's engine* 3: "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY CAR?" It was pretty funny at the time.
I have never realized that I improvise A LOT! Me and my sister love making characters and a setting and then seeing where that takes us. Little did we know we improvised 10 scenes, without stopping.. My sister is growing out of making mini movies by our selves, kinda like role-playing, so I really want to join an acting camp to improv with more people.
i just want to throw out here, the best improve is when you're with a friend(s) and you can build off each others chaos I've seen an entire server convince one person that I didn't really exist they've talked to me plenty of times through chat but with some help, we convinced him that I was just some other guys alt. almost everyone that was on had known me irl except this dude so we trolled for an hour
Wow, if I had any high school teachers that looked like this guy, I would have shown up a hell of a lot more! Can't say I would have been able to concentrate on the lesson, but I would at least have been front and center for it.

It's also funny reading it now. HAHAHA.
That is right... "Yes, but"
Never say "NO" because that ENDS everything... nothing to work with.
BTW... That is Funny.

"Dad jokes are only enjoyable for the teller. Don't be that guy."
Pfft, I'm gonna.
I went here on a video for music improv and got so confused but these tips can actually apply to music

How do you know when to balance tip number number 3 and number 7? Is this something that will come with practice?

this is also great because you can set up inside jokes only they know about and make the audience seem like you guys came up with them on the spot
Good work bro, I used this for my HS students!

I enjoyed this but had to stop at 3:01 because the bad audio or background noise was starting to get to me.
Have a theatre sports tournament coming up in an hour, watching this to calm the nerves lol
Nice examples they helped to make all the concepts more understandable. thanks!
this is very good
NO
Seems like this would fit in general conversation
Great advice!
Thiis is so great. I wish it did not have bad language in it. That is all the kids at school focus on.
I'm watching these videos about how to improv to get better at it, and do fandubs with friends.
I love Dad jokes. They’re so bad they’re good.
I really enjoyed this video. Thank you so much. Im starting my first class next Sunday. Im excited to let all of this play out. Great stuff
So how did go ?
Very Powerful video lesson man!
