Careful around the filler neck with power tools. Fuel vapors can ignite off the drill. Had a buddy that taped the vent holes up on his dewalt and it still flashed on him. Cost him his eyebrows and a good pair of Levi's.
Funny you mentioned sparks from power tools around fuel fill. Here in NJ you don't pump your own fuel. Pulled up to a gas station at night, the attendant opened the fuel door, l get out to unlock fuel cap, my fingers must've been close to the bed or fuel door, l heard and seen the loudest, bluish spark ever. Static electricity should also be taken serious. Fruit of the Looms lived to see another day😊
@@randomherolhd3 Three came out using a two foot long breaker bar, one snapped off, one I was able to cut the top off using an angle grinder and last one I had to use a cold chisel to cut the steel around it then the bed came off. Bummer now is the gas tank where the fuel pump fits on is bent inward somewhat. Not sure how I'm going to fix that. JB Weld maybe?
A 2006 7’ longbed box minus tailgate and lights is right at 200 pounds. I need to remove the bed from my 2009 which has had 4 separate collision damages to it. I call it the ding ding Ranger.
One thing I noticed, for my '97 Mazda is those three fuel inlet screws were 9/32". No other socket would remove them. 7mm was too large and 6.5mm too small.
Good video. I appreciate the clarity on the light disconnect.

Should have sprayed the underside with cosmoline. That nasty gooe whould have preserved the truck for a million years.
do you have to remove the bumper to do this??
No
Did you buy new bolts and nuts? or reused?
I'm gonna use new fasteners. Though, I am tied up on other projects and haven't finished the Ranger yet.
I have a 2002 ford ranger edge my bed is regular I would like to know if the steps side beb will fit on my truck
Yes, should fit.
Would a 97 Mazda B2300 be the same steps?
Should be.

Is a 02 bed same as a 97 ?
Yes.
You asked the question I was going to, thanks man
@@randomherolhd3 how many pounds and you think 2 people can pick it up to replacement?
@@DavidHernandez-ue4fz I don't know how many pounds. I do believe 2 people would be able to lift the bed.
