For those of us, like myself, who play sports games on our tabletops, the players will forever live on. RIP everyone who passed away.
Thank you for such an excellent presentation. Fabulous tribute, one day I hope to play catch with my father again. 😊
Appreciate the kind post
This is the best baseball tribute video I've ever seen, loved Carly Simon's complete version of TMOTTBG at the beginning and the stadium photos are great. And Thanks for including women and Negro League players. Blessings from San Juan 🇵🇷.
Thank you, appreciate it.
Excellent!!! Thank you.
You're welcome!
My gosh, we lost alot of former baseball players in 2023, some I even watched play and others I know of from my baseball cards, we're definitely not here for long
Yes, this is why I do these videos, I never realized how many passed per year.
thanks for the ball you signed for me and my buddy max joe, this is when you played for the amarillo goldsox then you went to the yankees
from there.im 76 now and l will always remember that, meant alot to to little guys.RIP in Joe we will see you again.
The little things mean so much
Very well done---the ballparks matching the players--well done
Thank you
Brooks Robinson. Enough said...
Thank you so much for putting in so much effort to recognize all these men and women of baseball.
Appreciate it.
Thanks for this. I didn't know that Mike Ivie, of the San Diego Padres, had passed. I stole a base against him in high school. He played at Walker High School in metro Atlanta, if I recall correctly.
Neat story, thank you.
Remarkable video!!! Well done!!!!
Thank you. Appreciate that
Beautiful tribute.
Appreciate that, thank you
MLB baseball ⚾️ players rest in peace …
R.i.p.🙏 to all that were shown, too many to count. 2023, a sad year for baseball ⚾️
Definitely more this year.
They will always live on. As a matter a fact my Strat-o-Matic computer game is line an hour away from 1962 match up of Don Drysdale Vs Warren Spahn. Can’t wait to throw those dice 🎲
Yes many great memories
Love the thumbnail and song choice! Thank you for making this.
Thank you.
Thank you. Saw many names I recognized.
Thank you, I appreciate you watching.
Very interesting to see pix of the old ballparks. I especially like the Big A, with the scoreboard out in left field. Also the pic of Jack Murphy Stadium, which I visited several times while growing up in San Diego county. Big fan of Nate Colbert, the first big star of the Padres. Sad to learn of the passing of Lil’ Albie Pearson, whom I saw at an Angel old timer’s game back in the 80’s.
Albie was rookie of the year i believe in the 50's for the Senators.
Thanks for including John Adams. He didn’t play ball, but was the super fan in Cleveland who brought his drum to thousands of Indians games-even during the lousy years.
He was a staple for Cleveland baseball.
Terrible 2023 to lose two of my childhood heroes; first Brooks Robinson, then from the Washington Senators - Frank 'Hondo' Howard.
Brooks was the best. I sat with him at an autograph session and across from us was Kevi. Seitzer. Seitzer watched how Robinson interacted with the fans, and he asked Brooks how are you so nice to each and every fan. He said well Kevin this might be the only time they meet me and I want them to see the best of me. That sums up Brooks, he was the best always.
vida blue should be in the HOF.RIP 1949-2023
I agree on Vida in the HOF.
@@robertsprouse9282 I even agreed with your post, if you look at the comments. Why would I take it down then?
I can only account for myself.
@@robertsprouse9282 I agree there is no reason it would have been, and I definitely never reinstated a comment.
It is right here
I got teary-eyed watching. Thank you.
Too many for sure.
The old stadium pics are fantastic.
I appreciate that.
Great job on this. What a tribute. May they all rip ⚾️
Thank you, appreciate that.
Very nice, even if there are inaccuracies. May they all rest in peace. WIN TWINS!!
2023... A season that will be forgotten as soon as 2024 starts
Well done!
Thank you, I appreciate that
9:08. Don Denkinger will always be remembered for blowing the call in Game 6 of the 1985 World Series, when he called the Royals Jorge Orta safe when he was really out at first. Kansas City would go on to win Game 7, and win the 1985 World Series.
Unfortunately you are correct. However he was a really good ump. Kind of like Buckner. He let that ball go through his legs and that is what he is remembered for rather than his 2715 hits. The glaring lights of the World Series
I heard of most of them.very sad
I was always durprised how many we lose every year. It is sad.
Wrong sport afew pirates miss them
What a nice tribute. I must confess that there were a lot of guys (gals) there that I don't remember.
Yes some are obscure, but I look at it if I had played a major sport for one game. Everyone would know about it.
great job thx!
Thank you
Thank You
You are welcome
Kudos! Well done!
Thank you, I appreciate you watching.
May they all rest in peace. Tim Wakefield's passing on October 1 broke the hearts of Red Sox Nation.
Yes Tim’s passing was tough
RIP The Knuckleball, now an extinct pitch
Very well done
Thank you appreciate that
DAAAAAOM 😢 I had NO IDEA 😭
Way too many
Ron Hodges (June 22, 1949 - November 24, 2023) 1973-1984 all with the Mets
Solid back stop
Please excuse my ignorance, but, Why is Ken Adamson (6:50) included here ???
I was wondering the same thing. He must have had baseball ties. I guess.
It was an accident, he was included in the Football video and I am unable to edit an uploaded video. Sorry for the oversight.

@@sportsmemories481 Don't worry, no harm done, can happen to anyone 😆😄 !!!
I worked for Bob Harrison 40 years ago…holy crap!
4:37 - Bill Henry, wasn't he the guy who was placed on the Seattle Pilots' opening day roster in 1969, and promptly retired the very next day? No disrespect intended. I think he would see the humor in that situation himself.
I know he was traded to Reds by the Yankees. I think that was the other Bill Henry who retired in 1969.
@@sportsmemories481 Wouldn't surprise me. A very common name. Thanks man!
Don denkinger in royals stadium, appropriate!
Not really. Ironic, certainly, but not truly appropriate.
Believe me it was a accident. But if any team in the American League was associated with Denkinger it is the Royals. But the fans and the Cards blamed him, but not Jack Clark dropping a foul ball. Etc etc.
Damn, some of these guys were pushing 90 years old. I sure as shit hope i don't stick around this shithole that long.
Some are 2022 deaths, even 2021.
They were included due to the fact that their passing did not become known until 2023.
9:10 Is that supposed to be some sort of irony?
It would be like having Jim Joyce in front of a picture of Comerica Park: Ironic and in bad taste
Believe it or not that was just a coincidence, but funny none the less.
Carly Simon???
Yes.
Yes women did play baseball. They form a women's baseball team. The men baseball players were in the war. You need to watch the movie A League of There Own
Yes I have seen that, awesome movie
I'm surprised they took the time to remember the ladies who played pro baseball.
I have always included them on my vids
yeah, whaddya mean 'there is no crying in baseball'!!?! this sounds like something you'd tell ladies in a woman's baseball league. there is crying in baseball! years ago, when baseball was KING, you could go into any bar and find grow men crying in their beer!
That what it says, sometimes there is crying in baseball
Why include some who died in 2022? Bill White, for example, died in January of that year.
Their passings became known in 2023.
@@sportsmemories481 Maybe you should change the title.
I thought this vid struck out - no pun
Baseball committed suicide....ratings in the tank....empty little league fields
Agreed. The greed to go to cable only and streaming services and to abandon over the air broadcasts has been a huge mistake. They have eliminated millions of people that could watch and fall in love with the game. Out of sight leads to out of mind. And do not forget the high cost of tickets, parking, and concessions. They have eliminated about 1/3 of the population.
you are 100% right...I'm Old School...I'll never "stream" anything...@@sportsmemories481
Not to mention to find the stream is like an Easter egg hunt
For me it died when Nolan Ryan retired...@@sportsmemories481
This video is misleading, and historically dishonest. NO women have played in the majors, a number of these deaths were not in 2023, and anyone who knows anything about that era would have NEVER EVER put Mike Ivie in a Padres uniform. His disdain for the organization led to his being traded to the Giants whose uniform he should be pictured in.
There was a professional women's league during the 1940's and 1950's. Some of the men that passed in 2022 were included because their passings came to light in 2023.
Well done!
Thank you
