- Today I got a new betta fish! This is a rose gold betta fish and looks amazing in my new 10-gallon aquarium!! This tank is currently empty but will be getting some new cute friends for the new betta fish soon!!

I don’t understand why Petco is starting to name Bettas random names based on there coloration. It makes me annoyed because they tend to raise the price on a different color halfmoon betta.
Yeah thats true its annoying but most of the time those bettas keep their color patterns
Rare? Those are really common in Petco. The best one in my opinion is the platinum dragon betta from them.
That's exactly why they do it. To make them sound unique so people pay more
You just answered your own question in your second sentence. The only people that fall for believing they just purchased a "rose gold betta" are those that are not knowledgeable on betta fish. Petco is simply changing the name to make the consumer believe that it's a rare betta type - which in return they'd buy to show it off. But those that know the truth are just laughing because they just got ripped off by believing it's a "rare fish" lol what a load of crap. 💁♀️I feel bad for those people. James is also making people believe that this is indeed a "rare betta" and considering the amount of influence he has on his viewers, some might go out and buy one too - DON'T! You're being ripped off.
you do know the rose part is ment for the tail right ? ;) and no, its not a rose tail at all.. just a simple halfmoon.
I had a bad day a petsmart today a lady was buying a betta and 3 goldfish for there kid they I lisined to what they were saying and I guess was for a school project they was telling the employee that the other one they had was not doing good they said was only feeding it one pellet a day and it was in a bowl.the lady said u could not put 4 fish in a bowl and not 2 bettas together...they the little kids ask what will they do with fish when project is over the mom said just flush them down the toilet...I'm like so sick from all this I should of said something it just bothering me now...

@@fahid62 its good to give ur betta a varied diet and bloodworms shouldn't be it's everyday meal. Instead, it should be like a treat for your betta :)
Hey guys, just a little disclaimer, there are no RARE colorations on betta fish. The only reason a coloration could be considered "rare" is when a betta fish turns out to be albino.
Any color that isn't red or blue is rare in my opinion lol
I have a white betta and for me its rare because i normally just see red and blue bettas

I got a betta today! His name is Elliot and he is living happily in a 20 gal with 4 male guppies. He is a delta tail male with a purple body, white fins, white-blue head, and beautiful violet eyes! He also has purple and red splotches on his head and red along his back. And before all of you say that they shouldn’t be with guppies, he is doing fine with them swimming around him and he has actually joined their little school. I honestly think he thinks that he is a guppy. 😝 I am going to get some plants for the tank in a few days. Right now they have a castle and an “ivy covered” staircase thingy in the tank.

I just set up my old little tank and decided on a Betta. His absolutely gorgeous. But you have inspired me to get my big tank from my parents house and set that up. Want a community tank, so just working out as many species that will get along before i even start.

I also bought/ rescued a rise gold like yours. He had some gill black burn as the petshop dudnt look after the ammonia levels

maybe a fresh water deep sand bed, or a under gravel filter video, fluorescent bulbs vs led, green water video, different types of wood, or building a 1 inch inside your aquarium wide for plants to sit in like aqua-phonics

Awesome! I recently brought home a rose gold halfmoon as well and it's amazing just how beautiful they are! I can tell that the camera isn't doing its colors any justice but they look as if they are actually made of gold! 💛 with the slight pink tint to them is perfect. Absolutely my favorite color among bettas

I have a similar story where I went to my local Petsmart to get a Nerite for my brackish Fiddler Crab/Red Claw Crab paludarium. I had my Fiddlers for 9 months and my Red Claws for 1 month and I wanted a Black Racer because I heard that they can tolerate low brackish level and they gave me THE WRONG SNAIL. I noticed as soon as I got home and I drip acclimated it and everything but I soon realized it died. The only other snail there are brackish are Horned/Spiny Nerite Snails and I'm planning on maybe getting 1.
Greek word for Gold, "Chrysos!" Italian word for Gold, "Oro!" Both good names:-) I have an Elephant Ear named Blue and a purple & white Butterfly named Passion, both Petco Bettas!

You should name your new betta Aurehanus. It’s derived from the Latin name Aurum which means golden.
As far as new video ideas, I’d love to see you break down a story of your first hobby from start to finish. It’s really interesting how you started with a tank in your room and now you have a whole first room.

Harlequin rasbora are the absolute best fish to keep in a community tank with a betta, I'm speaking from personal experience.

Yes!! Tips on persistent fin rot? I've used 2 medicines and tried several strategies for cleaning and its not going away
I haven't really had to deal with fin rot but you can check out aquarium co op I think he has a few videos on that :) hope that helps

Oml I was just like you when I got my betta I kept saying he was pretty i also kept saying he was cute even though he was unhealthy from his condition at Walmart and he is an adorable spoiled child XD
You don't do "plop n drop" instead of acclimation like Rachel O'Leary does? I've been doing that since i seen her video and it really seems to work well.
In regards to your algae issue I've been using dollar store nail brushes lately the ones for scrubbing off polish i believe
