- I have never unboxed this many bettas before!! I got to go back to Prism Bettas and see her unbox a shipment of both male and female bettas. Many of them were marbles and I got to see Dumbo Marbles for the very first time which was really cool! They were so colorful ^_^

I find it interesting how betta fish have their own personalities. Some of my bettas loved to jump for food. Some didnt.
They really are! They have different mentalities, some are subtle, some are shy, and some are aggressive. That's the fun part as betta keepers. I breed a lot of bettas, different parents pass on different personalities towards their fries. I have 1 batch scattered around the tank, I have others that gathered around everywhere they go. Some fries chase their siblings and flare, it started when they are only 2 weeks old. So adorable. Happy to see a lot of ppl enjoy keeping betta fish :)

this is how we buyy bettas locallly (south east asian country) you can buy 5 pairs for about 6 dollars. it's all ready o breed
Your impulse control is strong I saw like 20 that I would've had trouble not purchasing....much respect 😅
Can say as someone that works for a company that sells bettas and gets shipments in nearly every week: They're still shipped in cups to us. Sometimes they arrive with a couple of drops of water in the cup, sometimes they're filled halfway, but the only bettas we ever receive in bags are the females.
Hi, question from South East Asian hobbyist here, why don't you guys breed locally there instead of shipping every other week?
@@Vell42 It's easier to make money by receiving shipments of bettas instead of doing it yourself. Time + Materials + Cost of Labor does not equal the amount of money that you will get back from selling your own bettas.

@@helikopterhelikopter6522 No it’s not. You can’t make a living in this day and age by strictly doing this hobby. Mortgage or rent is already enough to leave you penny-less.
@@Vell42 Almost impossible to make it profitable here in Sweden atleast. Takes alot of labour doing anything whit bettas and every minute of handeling one would add atleast 4 dollar or more for a company plus space and such. Doing it privatly is another story doe when you have less taxes
seperating the gender is very important...
My first betta (his Name was yoschi) looked like a female... His Fins were short and he was sold as a female... however at some point he got bullied by the other two females we had and we separated him. After we separated him form the females his fins grew and he was beautiful... he lived 4 long years ^^
He wasn't very dominant or wanted to fight a lot in his early years. However when he became older he became a littel grumpy man XD
A week ago, I met a sweet female betta in our local Petco and thought about her all week. I went back last night and she immediately perked up as if she remembered me, hehe. So I brought her home with a companion young girl betta, so they will each have company. So happy as I look for a large glass suitable container for them!!! THANK YOU, Kasia. USA

It helps reduce on a lot of stress. Different farms use different chemicals but in this case a small dose of clove oil was used

The Koi Betta variant has stolen my heart!!!! I have a BEAUTIFUL Platinum Dragon Scale male, and a Koi King Male, super red King Koi Male… They’re stunning and so exciting to finally see more of them on the market!
The tumor bit was interesting, I just lost my samurai female to a huge tumor. So it’s interesting to know that tumors are becoming more prevalent, and it’s something else to look out for.
I just got into the hobby and am considering changing my job to work in an aquarium store... I love these fish and have had mine for about 3 weeks now. His colours have really popped and he has become less scared of my hands and loves darting around the tank. His name is Swimmothy for those wondering...

I would have never imagined so many female bettas could be together in a bucket/tank! Even temporarily. I know they can live in sororities but so many bettas together at once was awesome to see! Definitely inspiring me to start my female betta tank soon!

Some beauties for sure! As an on and off again fish keeper for most of my life, I can definitely see the quality issues through the years. The Betta are not as sturdy of a fish as they use to be. Thanks for sharing!

this is my first introduction to betta fish, outside of seeing one or two at my local Meijers. so seeing all of these absolutely gorgeous betta fish all in one place - there's no way i'd be able to pick just one favorite!!!

Her fishkeeping overall seems lovely. From what I’ve seen great care is taken, however not when choosing the fish she breeds. Previously she’s been a slight “advocate” for breeding pet store Bettas, without listing the proper negatives to doing so.
Moving forward into the future- she doesn’t take “as much” care as should be when picking her breeding pairs. Some look fine, however some have some major errors. Deformed shape etc, which she never seems to go into detail regarding why she’s selected them.
Betta are a very misunderstood fish- especially when it comes to breeding. Many amateur hobbyists don’t take proper care in the bettas they decide to breed etc. And it’s just disappointing to see someone who has a following, not only ‘not’ being the best example. But also not educating those who watch her to do differently/better 🙂
Bettas are showing increasing signs of improper breeding as the years go by. Therefor great care should be taken by everyone and ANYONE who decides to partake in such endeavours. Only appropriate fish should be selected for breeding future generations. I don’t see that happening here

Their scales and colors are so beautiful! I am always very nervous about betta treatment behind the scenes so it helped to see this process.

This is a great video, but after a quick look at the site for the shop where you filmed, I definitely won't ever order from them. I urge other potential buyers to be wary as well. A seller that refuses to take responsibility under almost any circumstances apart from a very narrow window of fault, and then claims the fish are always and for certain healthy when they go out so they won't take responsibility for sickness, is shady imo.

7:17 male is my favorite of all of them- I’d pick a female with similar color as his gf 🥰 any female with blue eyes and a bit of yellow and blue is awesome to me
For one male betta you need 2-3 famale bettas.

That's a very colourful bunch of Bettas.
The thing I don't like about this is how all of them are in tiny containers and no plants. And why out all those females in one tiny tank I'm sure they got STRESSSSEEEDDD

The Marble Dumbos are my Favorite, I have seen some Dumbos being Halfmoon which I don't fancy, getting one as a dumbo plakat is hard over here but they are not rare just either they got sold off or they never add it into the shipment list.
I like how all the bettas are put into pretty big containers.
(I also put my bettas in too big of containers, I like to add plants like Java. Because I seen the betta resting on them)
When I worked at Petsmart we got them in the cups I’ve never seen these little bags before in my life.

I actually work at a PetSmart and I find this super interesting, we actually get them in cups with their labels on what type of betta they are, And they come in this odd blue liquid that we always do water changes as soon as they come in to get them some fresh water
I think that's menthol blue or something like that.

Actually, I work at PetSmart and we get our bettas shipped in the cups we put them on display in. They come in a blue liquid, which I assume is a seditive of some sort as well. All we do is change the water and scrub out the cups. They're already labeled. I wish there was a better way, but I don't have the power to change it unfortunately.
I can’t say I saw a favorite fish in that whole bunch because they were all so beautiful ☺️.

I wish there were stores that brought bettas in like this. I actually have 2 bettas coming in the mail next week.
And some of those females are so pretty. I saw some that I LOVE that would’ve paired well with my incoming males
