@@damainmane4765 I get what you're saying as well, but without probing into MJ's mind, just based on his behavior and the words of his teammates and coaches and such he seems supremely mentally healthy. Phil Jackson, the famous shaman of basketball, I think largely agreed. I don't necessarily blame him by any means and it's sure as shit worked out for him, he's by most people considered the GOAT of his sport (despite being drafted 3rd), by experts he's top 2 at the least debatable with LeBron (albeit maybe Kareem's in the discussion but in that case we're heavily valuing longevity in which case LeBron is the uncontroversial GOAT, heavily valuing peak it's a coin toss between him and Bron), he's a billionaire, etc. Idk what his social and psychological life is like. I hope he's doing well. Obviously there's a pathology in his extreme competitiveness, gambling addiction, etc. As a layman watching there are a few moments in _The Last Dance_ of intense emotion which I personally saw as an experience of guilt. Now I don't know exactly what went on in the Bulls locker room, or whether he was straight up abusive, but it clearly worked. I hope he can accept it and I hope his teammates don't take his behavior too much to heart because at least from the outside it appeared to just be a tactic from his extreme competitiveness and not a personal attack (though I don't doubt he used personal attacks as motivational attempts... however misguided or impotent).

He’s right. I’m not a professional athlete, not even close. I’m a craftsman who works with tools. There’s a lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifices that separates a 35k a year craftsman and a 200k a year craftsman. He said this same thing like 30 years ago and a skinny kid from nowhere was listening. Thank you for teaching me this Mr. Jordan.
This episode stood out very much. Seeing Jordan’s eyes, as they teared up and the crackle in his voice as he talked about this nearly brought me to that point. Ppl only looked at the way he was instead of looking at why he was. He gave 120% and can tell the pain of failure/losing still lingers within him. To be around others that don’t have the same views, dreams, ideas, goals, drive as you, can hurt worse than what it took to win. Especially if you wanted it for them, more than them. MJ will always be an inspiration.
I have heard MJ comment about people saying they wish they could play like him for even one day. He said that isn't fair, essentially because they wouldn't have paid the price that he has to play how well he did.
You have zero comprehension skills . Did you even listen to what he said? He cried because his teammates called him a tyrant. I've never seen him get so chocked up like that emotionally...he's hurting in that clip. All he did was make the NBA players on his team and other teams better! In my opinion he will always be the greatest ever, just based on his mental state and competitive drive. Never just settle for mediocrity!
My guess is that he probably feels a little guilty because he knows he didn't treat people very well back then but it's just WHO he is, that's how he motivated people. Kinda like a blessing and a curse type of thing
Lol stop it. That's not all he did. There's times when he took it too far. He still occasionally takes it too far. Don't make it seem like he's always in the right. Ask Steve Kerr about it. There's a reason Jordan called and apologized, despite mostly being unapologetic.
Even a non NBA fan can tell the difference between having basketball in your heart and blood, as opposed to being good enough to make the team and get fat checks. The guys with the heart are the ones that become legends.
I cried when I first saw this part. You can see the sadness in his soul because he knows the suffering he went through. No shame just raw and based truth.
Thats why I think he isnt so public. They tried to kill him with gambling. He survived. Shaq is so public that a new video of him doing something for someone comes out once a week. Mike feels betrayed. He may do what SHaq does but doesnt want the spotlight and demands privacy.

Didn't apply to Dennis though. Both Jordan and Jackson said that Rodman was the greatest athlete they've ever seen and didn't push him like the others. Dude was out partying and binging nonstop and still performed. That's the thing too. Not to take anything away from Rodman, but imagine if he had the work ethic and raw determination (with none of the distractions and partying). People like that exist. Where they are the best with sub-optimal effort. No doubt in my mind that for every 1 Michael Jordan, there are 100s who are actually better but misfortune and distractions got in the way. They didn't fuck with Rodman because they know how good he was and the way you got the most out of him was actually to let him party and "be himself." Just a cool dynamic there.

Pretty sure he said ‘that’s because you never won anything’ When you see your leader not flopping, working out to get stronger, play BOTH ends of the floor, hit the gym before you and is the last to leave - it’s pretty hard as a teammate to criticize the man….unless you’re lazy, in that case, you wouldn’t last very long on the team.

I completely understand. I came from the projects in Chicago. I was so driven to get out the hood I ended up without too many friends in high school and even less in college. My focus was laser-like, I would stay up for days chasing my dream. Everyone who played a part in my life would always tell me I was too serious. I dont think Jordan was an asshole on purpose. He knew what his teammates were capable of if he brought that out of them they'd all be champions.
Spot on. I remembered Mike Tyson’’s conflict with His brutal self in the ring. He used to cry before fights, because He knew what He was about to do to another human being. Mike will certainly understand Michael.
The only way to be a great in any sport is to have those feelings causing a storm inside you. Being moral and being a GOAT are 2 sides of the same coin. You cant be both you can only be one or the other.

Michael was a competitor and he had to earn his way from day one. As many of the bigger and more popular athletes of the NBA try to bully him and hurt him physically. Each year he had to get faster and stronger to compete at their level and even exceed them. You see his gym training and weightlifting during off season. He also wanted to win championships too, and the only way it's to get his team at his level - or close to it. @MJ - well done 👏
You can hear it in his voice; he knows he hurt people. Championships gave him satisfaction while he was winning, but now that he's out of the game. He's realizing how lonely he really is
I love that part. He took it very seriously and he just wanted everyone else to as well. That why he clapped. Not to taunt, because he truly expected commitment.
to be fair thats what half of managers do and they get accused of harassement, and for a good reason. you dont need to work on a video game 120 hours per week just to be "a winner", and then everyone only remembers the star manager, and perhaps sometimes his main sidekick. i loved watching mj but this really is one of those "look at history and decide if you want to repeat what he did". something lost something gained

Didn't apply to Dennis though. Both Jordan and Jackson said that Rodman was the greatest athlete they've ever seen and didn't push him like the others. @@delmardonte906 Nha . He bought a new wife. Old rich man. If he was broke she wouldn't even look at him.
This is the most powerful moment of the entire, incredible series.
We had all been wating for about 25 years while everyone else got cheesy docs then Jordan has one made and it fits his career
We love you Michael 💞👏💯💕🙏
He is so emotional about the game so into his passion … know one has emotions for basketball like MJ
MJ is not only the *GOAT* -
He’s an intelligent and emotional human being. His Kobe speech was amazing. *Appreciate the greatness* 🔥 🏀 🐐 🏆
Kobe is the goat
Greatest of all time not the goat bc it reps the devil✝️🙏🏽all glory to God✝️🙏🏽

Jordan is the best player ever
Not Kobe
@@dumisatonyjohnson8145 Jordan was an ass who only cared abt him self, he may have the better stats but when it comes to the 🐐 no one had more of a dedicated attitude and did more for the community thn Kobe he's the goat
He is neither.
When you put your ALL in it and go through what he went through trying to get pass the celtics and pistons...I can UNDERSTAND his mentality and TEARS!! #respect 💯👏☝️
The GOAT. This clip shows the difference between him and everyone else you dare even mutter to be close to him; his drive, his passion, his LIFE was dedicated to being the best.
Kobe?
@@wessyder112
Nope 👎
Wrong ❌
LeBron
@@markreadin7124 u making yourself look dumb stop pls
@@jerpa000 LBJ playoffs leading scorer, most all nba selections, already much him statistically...if just b/c MJ has more rings, then Tony Parker is better than Stockton, CP3 lol...it's a team sport, LBJ individually will bury the record books
He’s passion and his sacrifice was off the charts and he gave up friendship for championships he was unbelievable there will never be another MJ love # 23
This is the most G.🏀.A.T.E.D short ever and shows how much mj loves the game of basketball
That kind of passion for meeting your goals is beyond inspirational.
Michael, you don’t owe anyone an explanation for wanting to be the best. Becoming a success and being the best is a lonely, unforgiving, brutally honest endeavor. Thank you, Michael, for showing us what it takes…🤙🏾
So why cry over spilled milk. He didn’t know that It’s so much better to be happier and win fewer games.
He want people to understand who he is as a man, bc basketball isn't the only game he wanna win!!!
Mike was an absolute monster when it came to game time.
MJ is on another planet when it comes to ball and winning
