I just watched the movie the other night for the first time in years and couldn’t have said it any better myself. The only possible change I could think of would just be adding like 10-20 minutes of content lol
I get your point my dude ! But I would add a few moments and bits here and there. Notably, when April's narrating, there's this moment when we see one turtle on a punching-bag, another screaming at the top of his lung on the roof. If im not mistaken it also had to do with the lack of toys to start. The toy makers wernt getting behind the movie so they didnt make any of the turtles into action figures at first so kids wernt being sold on the movie before it came out. But i could be wrong ill have to go back and rewatch the Toys That Made Us episode.
I will NEVER forget when I was 7-8 years old (so 1991-92) it was a day before my birthday and my dad came home with this movie on VHS. I had never seen it in theatres but when I watched it I was just absolutely obsessed. I was one of those rare little girls who liked TMNT, even the cartoon. This movie and Secret of the Ooze brings back so much nostalgia for me. I love how you explained all of the excellent details of this film that truly go unnoticed and underappreciated. It is a masterpiece. (also R.I.P. Jim Henson my greatest hero)
Just want to say I have never seen this before on TH-cam. We made our TH-cam accounts 2 days apart from each other in May 2006. Was kinda funny to see, I don't see many people with 17 year old accounts.
I went to see this movie with my mom (who was a bit overprotective and pretty conservative)when I was like 6. I remember when Raph said that my body got cold cause I thought she was going to make us leave and I was somehow gonna get in trouble for talking her into taking me to a movie with curse words. Luckily it didn’t even register with her and everything was good
Mine is without a doubt when Mikeyy says a fellow chucker heyyyyy. I saw it in theaters 35 years ago for my 8th birthday with my friends and ma and I still remember it to this day. My mom was like that wasn't a half bad movie and that made it even better. And your right he did a really good video on this and yes hollywood ruined the sequels because mom's complained that it was 2 violent. This was an outstanding flick and kids these days will never understand this movie and that sucks.
For the past two years I’ve been saying “Cricket? You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket!” And idk what exactly triggered that memory of the Turtles film but I’m glad someone’s finally giving this movie some love. Good job Matt I dig the review man.
I remember when I moved to Australia and had a crumpet and there was cricket on TV. I then had a sudden realization that you DO need to know what a crumpet is to understand cricket. lol it hit hard and I started laughing.
@@fOk0dAzZ I really hope that is the case. I also saw one with the name "Just Some Guy with Half a Mustache". This has become a giant meme at this point.
It was actually the birth child of Hong Kong studio Golden Harvest, whose head of production, Tom Gray, green lit the movie when no other studio would, envisioning that the movie’s budget would not cost much money because the movie would be just four of their own stuntmen in costume. When they reached the end of their budget for the film, New Line picked up a lot of the cost. Either way it was a great choice for New Line to back this film, and the success of TMNT put them on the mainstream map. www.hollywoodreporter.com/features/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-untold-785653
@@surewin1773 thats probably why they didn't get good reviews cause its an overseas production. Which in all reality what other production company was more suitable to make it come together but golden harvest? they and other Hong Kong companies are the foundation for kung fu in movies.
the practical effects are actually insane, not only to the costumes look good, but they have enough mobility that the actors could fight effectively in them.
Most of my childhood nostalgia movies don't hold up (Ghostbusters 2, Mortal Kombat), but this film is legitimately solid. It's not a masterpiece, but it is thoroughly enjoyable and well made. The critics once again demonstrate how out of touch they've always been.
I seriously thought that I was the only one who legitimately loved this movie enough for it to be one of my favourite movies ever made. Thanks for making this video!
Nah I deadass didn't know this movie was actually apparently so hated until watching this video. Literally everyone I grew up with from older cousins to friends my same age loved the hell out of this movie.
When a movie review is done with heart and genuine enthusiasm for the movie, it will always make you want to see the movie too. I guess I'll be watching this movie, Matt. Thank you.
As a kid I used to always say Turtles 2 was my favorite movie. Probably because its more goofy and had the ninja rap song. But as I got older I realized how much more amazing the first movie truly was. Thanks for this nostalgia trip.
TMNT 2003 animated series season 1 also did this story from the comic when "april's antique store got burned by foot ninjas & they retreat to casey's old house before going back to new york to finish shredder on a rooftop". awesome.
Reviews tend to not talk about music to avoid copyright and because they think it's too subjective, but I think it's a really important part of the quality of the film. The music is so good cover to cover.
I grew up with the cartoons and I still loved this movie. It was really well done, and deserves a hell of a lot higher score than MK. There was a ton of heart soul and loved poured into it and you can tell.
Honestly one of the best movies ever made imo. Awesome martial arts, a truly heartfelt plot, dope music, and the best pacing and atmosphere in the franchise.
Honestly, I'd been hearing how terrible this exact movie was, and I was taking those statements and the still images of the suits that are all over the Internet at face value. Somehow I didn't realize that the film came out in 1990, and I obviously hadn't actually seen much footage of the film, but damn, Matt, you made me want to skip work to watch this movie.
It's a great film! I saw this in 90' at the cinema with my father, and it's one of my fondest memories. I can still remember both myself and my father being surprised by how dark and serious the film was at times, but I appreciated at the time, despite barely being seven years old. So many perfect moments in this, but if I had to pick my favorite, it would be the entire farm house sequence and Splinter meditation/bonfire scene.
Secret of the Ooze is fine if you look at it as a live action adaptation of the 80s cartoon. It matches the tone and comedy of that show. It just stands in contrast to the movie that came before it because that movie took all the best elements of the cartoon and the gritty comics and made something greater than the sum of it's parts.
@@Channel9001 My opinion has always been TMNT 1990 best Secret of the Ooze is "fun, but toned down" everything after other than the Turtles meeting Batman in the animated film is forgettable.
Secret of ooze was okay it had nothing on the first one and the third was terrible you can tell they just rushed that out the first movie was dark and gritty and I loved it when it came out I was a big fan of the turtles back than when they first came out that was my older cousin my brother and I were really into it with the comics the toys the cartoons and the original trilogy came out it was awesome
Just rewatched it tonight. One of my favourite movies of all time. I was happy to see it still held up to today. Glad to see others understood its greatness.
yea she does it for me way more than the more conventionally pretty actresses they would get to replace her in 2 and 3. I think it's the tough sass with a great balance of warmth and comedy she brought to the character. Hot 4 sho. Kinda reminds me a bit of an Elaine from Seinfeld type. The other actresses were bland
@@enterthecringe7552 "tough sass with a great balance of warmth and comedy she brought to the character. Hot 4 sho. Kinda reminds me a bit of an Elaine from Seinfeld type" SPOT ON!!!! Couldn't have said it better!! Judith did an amazing job being April
Two things. A lot of movies had a huge part in the way I lived my life as a kid. Back to the future 1-2. Halloween 1-2. Terminator 1-2(honestly I didn’t even mean to pick a bunch of great movies with great sequels). This movie was an absolutely huge part of my life. God when me and my best friend would go to Chuck E. Cheese’s, we ran, I MEAN RAN instantly to the left and dashed for the tmnt arcade game (when someone was playing it we almost cried). I used to think that this movie was just a silly kids movie that I would no longer enjoy watching. And I went a long time without watching it. But A few years back I was feeling nostalgic when I saw it on Netflix or something similar. Within probably five minutes it all came back to me. And I realized that it was way different then I remembered. This is a tragically under appreciated movie. And I’ve actually seen a lot of positive reviews of this movie on TH-cam. To me. When I think of the ninja turtles, I think of this movie and these turtles. They felt so real to me. I loved the cartoon from the 80s as well. And that brings me to my other point and also a bit of a disappointment with this video. You did an incredible job man. So many of the things you brought up I agreed with so much. Right down to the voice actors voicing these characters perfectly and in a lot of surprising spots most wouldnt think we’re important. But I was shocked you didn’t really touch up more about the incredible third act at the farm house. First there’s the scene with Rafael and Leo in the bathroom. Everything down to the look on rafs face. I have no idea how They we’re able to pin his emotions of embarrassment and love for his brother so well, even with the legend Jim Henson helping. Still to this day it’s a really touching scene. But then there’s the meditation scene shortly afterwards, in my opinion the best part of the entire movie. Where they find out splinter is still alive. And he tells them how proud of them, his sons, he is. And tells them how important it is to stick together. Afterwards you’re watching four fully costumes people, almost puppets, expressing all these emotions and it doesn’t feel the least bit weird to cry watching that scene. The way each one of them have a little bit different reaction to it, but all of them in tears. It was honestly nothing short of masterful. It held up 30+ years later. Which is just incredible. I really thought you were gonna talk about that scene some and I was excited to hear your opinion on it.
I'm so glad you pointed out that one flaw in Batman VS TMNT. People seem to forget how well of fighters the turtles are, and to see them get their asses handed to them by Batman kinda irked me the wrong way.
14:07 I always interpretted that Mikey didn't wanna think or talk about it, so he straight ignored it. Not that he didn't care, but it hurt so much. Later in the film when they're sitting at the camp fire, he's crying the hardest
Exactly. In fact, a lot of deleted scenes of the farm shows Mikey having difficulty dealing with it, and was actually the one who shouted Splinter's name (which they dubbed in Raph's voice). It's also why everyone seems relieved when Mikey makes a turtle wax joke, like he's back to his old self again.
That's the right interpretation dude. Through the movie it's clearly shown how he and the other turtles care about their mentor/father figure, it's just that he doesn't want to broach the subject at that time.
I was one year old when this film came out. It pretty much helped define my childhood. What likely helped was that my folks were way more open-minded than most others.
This is genuinely one of my favorite videos you've done, I'd love to watch you just talk about superhero movies. Things like the Limewire documentary and this that are just long form video essays on seemingly random topics that you just enjoy and find fascinating are always so entertaining, you really just see the passion come out during them. And on that note: I'd pay money to see you analyze Spiderverse man.
As a kid obsessed with both comics and baseball in the early 90s, the Jose Conseco line between Raph and Casey Jones kills me everytime. I love this goddamn movie so much.
I was 7 when this first cartoon came out and was a part of the boom. This movie is one of my top favorite movies to this day. This movie was and is FANTASTIC. So dark and gritty but with so much fun and love. It kept well to the source material but adapted to the screen well. And the suits are FANTASTIC! Thank you for this great review!
i have been a long time defender of the 2000s animated tmnt film, but had never seen the 90s live action one. it was really interesting to hear your breakdown of it, im definitely gonna make time to watch it :)
This movie introduced amazing cinematography to a 6 year old me. Now I'm an animator, still driven to work in the film biz. Thank you brave Directors, Producers, & anyone involved in releasing this AMAZING movie.
I just want to say that I love that you added the music from the movie throughout the relevant scenes being shown or talked about. I don't think I've seen a reviewer be that technical before. It's appreciated and it's awesome.
Okay I hate to be that guy but Raphael actually says damn four times. Twice at the beginning. Once when he's chasing Casey. And once again when he's on the rooftop just before he gets jumped by the foot. Also just a bonus, pretty sure it was Donatello that also said damn near the end when him and Michelangelo play rock-paper-scissors to see who would face Shredder next. It could have been Michelangelo but I'm pretty sure it was Donatello. Also also, could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Raphael actually said legit and not bitching. I actually kind of hope I'm wrong on that one. Anyway awesome video, definitely earned a subscription.
Matt, this might've been my favorite video that you've ever put out. I've definitely said that at least once before, so your videos keep getting better. I would watch a whole ass series of you doing stuff like this.
Thank you for this review! You nailed it with every second of this video. This is pretty much how I’ve felt about this masterpiece since I saw it in theaters. We even went to Pizza Hut afterwards where they were giving away the soundtrack on cassette with a meal. Best times ever!
38:00 Their internal struggle of not being able to be a part of human society is something I do enjoy seeing, and the recent Mutant Mayhem really dug into that aspect in the most potent way yet for the characters (even Out of the Shadows tackled it pretty decently). It's not a perspective we get to really see the turtles struggle with in most incarnations for them. They just accept their unacceptance for the most part and go through the other heavy topics of that incarnation's story. It's a refreshing angle to see now and then.
The one thing I liked more about the Bay Turtles was that when they teamed up at the end, they beat Shredder. I never liked how, as a team, they couldn't beat Shredder
First, how does this have so little views?!? Second, Matt please keep making this type of videos Everytime you feel like it, hearing you talk about the things you love is really amazing. Stay safe!
I was 20 when this came out. Just having the toon. Though an underclassmen said she read the tmnt comics. She looked at me like I would judge her and say, "Yes I read tmnt comics." I decided to not tell that I had seen the cartoon. That was going into my senior year in '88. I was so enthralled with the movie, I went back to see it 2x. Plus all the merchandising I was kind of introduced to the original comics through the trade paperbacks by First Publishing. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I liked it.
I was 8 when this came out . i remember seeing the trailer and then seeing the movie in the theater a couple times. It shaped the rest of my life from that time forward👏 i love hearing someone who was born after its release geek out about it the same way i do lol. There's like a brotherhood of people who saw this movie as a kid and got changed 😂 i wish you got to see it in the theater , it was completely life changing❤
And from what scientists are doing with human animal dna, just for stem cells, the Tmnt might not be far away from reality. Should we rejoice or cringe??
When Raph is screaming in dispair in the lair I think it was because he felt it was his fault Splinter was gone, when he took April back home a Foot Ninja followed him, so he feels responsible.
I really love it when you do these videos. When I start them I always think "holy shit almost 40 minutes, I'm never gonna finish that" But the way you talk about movies and other things you love are just so compelling, that I can't help but watch the whole thing. I know this must take a ton of work, and a lot of time, and I'm just so happy you put in that time and effort because damn it pays off. I've always loved your videos, and have mostly watched a lot of the league of legends videos, but damn if this isn't some of my favourite content on your channel. Much love and appreciation from here
My FAVORITE movie of all time! I can watch this over and over and I’ll never get tired of this film It fills me with so much nostalgia and happiness and emotion
Fun Fact: The barn scene when Raphael yells Splinters name into the night was actually Michaelangelo. I've seen on other TH-cam videos on how there was a story arc on Mickey taking Splinters loss the hardest. He also has an extended training scene in the barn where he was shown breaking boards but the final cut is just him hitting the bag. Plus the rooftop scene when Casey and Splinter look up you can can hear Michaelangelo fighting Shredder solo
It makes sense too. When Donnie asks him what it would be like to not have Splinter Mikey just ducks the question. If those scenes of him taking the loss the hardest were in the final cut then it would have been a great character arc for Mikey.
I was born in '91 as well and I've always loved the turtles. I even had a turtle dance I'd do whenever tmnt came on back when I was like, 3 or 4 years old. 😂
Always my favorite! The 1990's live action was a big thrill for me as a kid who wasn't supposed to watch that much violence 😂 It made me dig the original comic books and got me addicted to the bloody version of Ninja Turtles
That in itself is weirdly nostalgic, how protective parents were but they still let us go watch movies like this with them because they knew we would learn about the real world in a useful way. Nowadays parents are overprotective yet somehow not protecting their kids at all.
Amazing job on this video man. I’m in awe with how You captured the perfect amount of emotion that was overlooked in this amazing movie. One of my all time favorites for every single reason you mentioned. This was full of deep and insightful reflections on life. And it all came from a wise rat. It’s insane how much I loved this.
This isn't my favorite comic based movie, It's just my favorite movie. Love everything about it from all of the music to the mistakes in filming and even Danny's part in the story. I'll never get tired of watching it. Watching this video is the 1st time I ever took notice to Donnie's human teeth.
"I have tried to channel your anger Raphael but more remains.. anger clouds the mind, turned inward, it is an unconquerable enemy. you are unique among your brothers for you choose to face this enemy alone. but as you face it.. do not forget them.. and do not forget me.. i am here, my son "
Favorite movie of the franchise? She's right. Favorite superhero movie? Maybe she doesn't know that many. Favorite all time? Definitely should watch more movies.
This is literally one of my fav films. The fact you made this video makes me so freaking happy! Thank you so much for this! You are one of my fav TH-cam and this video actually cemented your place in my heart ❤
Matt, you're the greatest for this video. Holy moly. I grew up during this time, and seeing this movie so young was mind-blowing. I adore it still. I will always say though that the introduction of The Shredder? Yeah, THAT is how you reveal an antagonist. Holy shit. That man was so scary when I was young. Not OOGABOOGA scary, but you could just sense how menacing he was; from the look of awe the teenagers have to his fucking commanding voice and presence. I'll never forget how I felt watching it for the first time.
Matt talking 38 minutes about this film and how the animatronics work, meanwhile I am amazed that amongst the other feats of athleticism, they found 2 people who actually know how to use a pair of Nunchuks.
This movie has elements most movies do not have anymore (most 80s/90s movies like Batman, Robocop, Bloodsport had them) where you introduce the hero, introduce the villain, show a flashback of how the hero started or history between the hero and villain, the journey, the climax. This was great story telling. This movies underlying story is about family. Also the fighting is amazing and connects you to the safety of the turtles (wanting them to be ok but knowing they are not invincible). And the final villain... best final match, amazing.
Fantastic Review! I wanted to point out how much I appreciated you noticing and pointing out how "New York felt like its own character" It was just one of the many elements that made this movie work so well and feel genuine. It also was one of the many elements missing from the remakes, even if they were doomed from the start. The Ninja Turtles and New York are just one of those things that are intertwined together. You can't really do TMNT and have no NYC or not develop it.. It's as much a part of the cast as the turtles are.
a bunch of people have said stuff like this already but man somehow a review of the 1990 tmnt movie was exactly what i needed on this depressing day. i love how you talk about movies, even or especially when it's funky ones like these. thanks for making these videos!
I remember him saying in an old post that the files they recorded for the video were corrupted,so they had to film it again.I don't know however if they actually filmed it or not, maybe they postponed for the future or maybe they didn't have any time or more chances or the patience to start the whole thing from the beggining.
Dude I love ypu. This movie was a big part of my childhood and It's so awesome you did a review, I know it's a slim chance but I would love if you covered the sequel cause you did such a good on this video!
Bad rep? Anyone who thinks that is a low IQ amoeba with no taste in art. The first TMNT movie was borderline perfection. It was literally the perfect mix between the original comic books and the childish cartoons. Furthermore it's pretty much the only movie that did the Foot Clan right. That being said is anyone else here because of that trash that Seth Rogen pumped out after he got way too high to remember what he was working on?
Absolutely correct with the correlation between the comics and the cartoons. And no, I'm not here because of the Seth Rogen disaster. Full episodes of the 80s TMNT show have been popping up in my feed...and I have been watching them because, well, trip down memory lane. And then this video showed up
I was 9 years old when the first movie came out, the PERFECT age to be into this. Me and my cousins went to see the movie and for the next several thousand days we "acted out" the movie in costumes, with our action figures, with our imaginations, with drawings, with anything and everything. For a 9-year-old kid in 1990, Ninja Turtles were a way of life, and that's not an exaggeration. "Turtle mania" is not an understatement. The themes of brotherhood and family and honor became teaching tools that actually helped equip kids of my generation to be better human beings. It sounds absurd that a toy could have that much impact, but that goes to show just how pervasive Turtle mania was.
Hilarious awesome review. One of the most disrespected and slept on faithful comic book movie adaptations. This shit does slap. Raphael is a total fucking bad ass. Casey Jones is a psychotic big dick alpha. The Sony payment joke is hilariously racist. The claustrophobic joke is hilariously homophobic. Shit would never fly today, but is actually low-key funny as hell. Stuff I didn’t notice when I was a kid
Just a little correction, the league of assassins never trained batman in the comics, it was just used in the Nolan movies to slap the League into the movies
I was 8 when this came out and I remember watching it over and over and over again, each timing waiting for the vhs to rewind.😅 What a great movie and a great trip down memory lane.
The reason is simple. It tells a simple story, doesn’t rely on CGI (technology limitation), isn’t crude in its humor, the humor isn’t topical so it can translate across generations, is light hearted, clever, and positive with heavier themes. Also, April is cute but not a sex kitten like Fox’s portrayal as directed by Bay.
Mom and dad taped it when it was on cable. And then dad bought the Manhattan Project for the Nintendo. The scenes with Splinter hit different since the loss of my dad and naturally getting older. “All fathers care for their sons.” -Splinter

And your right he did a really good video on this and yes hollywood ruined the sequels because mom's complained that it was 2 violent. This was an outstanding flick and kids these days will never understand this movie and that sucks.
The Scream King, ole Raphael in 1990, topped only by the Big Show in 2015.
This was one of New Line Cinema's earlier successful films back then, when they were a smaller company. It was a good choice for them
You and the guy with a moustache are the same person right?
@@fOk0dAzZ I really hope that is the case. I also saw one with the name "Just Some Guy with Half a Mustache". This has become a giant meme at this point.
Ay lmao you here too? xD
This movie was really grounded in reality, and full of real world problems.
Agreed. Real danger and real problems counterbalanced by so much heart.
Most of my childhood nostalgia movies don't hold up (Ghostbusters 2, Mortal Kombat), but this film is legitimately solid. It's not a masterpiece, but it is thoroughly enjoyable and well made. The critics once again demonstrate how out of touch they've always been.
@@dereksbooks I have to disagree... it is a true masterpiece.

Highly disappointed you didn't mention how much of a banger the opening theme is
the entire score is solid gold
@GsmackJoeypads Yeah the soundtrack is amazing. Shredders theme is sick.
And although the second movie isn't as good the soundtrack and songtrack are even better!
@@Ometecuhtli Close but not better.
Reviews tend to not talk about music to avoid copyright and because they think it's too subjective, but I think it's a really important part of the quality of the film. The music is so good cover to cover.
26:30 I love hearing Matt nerd out about Camera angles. We kinda forget that is how he made a living.
How so? Who is he? What was he? A cinematographer!?
I grew up with the cartoons and I still loved this movie. It was really well done, and deserves a hell of a lot higher score than MK. There was a ton of heart soul and loved poured into it and you can tell.
Mike says damn too. “Ninja kick the damn rabbit!”
This movie was locked into my deep memory until now. Holy moly this was such a good movie
Worth the watch. Hell I watch it at work from time to time. Gotta love that PG rating!
@@leonlionheartly I'll give it a shot!
Is it from RT or something? I think most fans agree it's the best TMNT movie of the bunch, it's definitely a fan favorite for a reason
The film is bloody brilliant
Who says it's terrible? It's been a fan favorite for decades at this point, lol.
I will not stand for the slander of Secret of the Ooze. "Go ninja go ninja go" is one of the best movie scenes of all time
Go Ninja Go is the best song to come out of the 90's
Secret of the Ooze is fine if you look at it as a live action adaptation of the 80s cartoon. It matches the tone and comedy of that show. It just stands in contrast to the movie that came before it because that movie took all the best elements of the cartoon and the gritty comics and made something greater than the sum of it's parts.
@@Channel9001 My opinion has always been TMNT 1990 best Secret of the Ooze is "fun, but toned down" everything after other than the Turtles meeting Batman in the animated film is forgettable.

Also, April is freaking hot in this movie.

I really thought you were gonna talk about that scene some and I was excited to hear your opinion on it.
they used motion capture to get the realistic expressions
too bad he just said it was a little weird and a little less saddening than weird and glossed over such a scene

14:07 I always interpretted that Mikey didn't wanna think or talk about it, so he straight ignored it. Not that he didn't care, but it hurt so much. Later in the film when they're sitting at the camp fire, he's crying the hardest
That’s how I always saw it. People tend to use jokes during hard times to hide how they’re feeling
I interpreted it as Mikey just straight up not listening to Donny cause all that was on his mind was the Pizza. I doubt he even knew he was talking.
That's the right interpretation dude. Through the movie it's clearly shown how he and the other turtles care about their mentor/father figure, it's just that he doesn't want to broach the subject at that time.
This movie was my childhood. Though was 10 years before I was alive
What does the movie being older than you have to do with it being your childhood
@@iggy7893 when people often talk about their childhood. They usually associate that with the stuff that came out during that time period.

How about Mike's "who's he suposed to be, Wayne Gretzky.. on steroids??"
I was 7 when this first cartoon came out and was a part of the boom. This movie is one of my top favorite movies to this day. This movie was and is FANTASTIC.

My FAVORITE movie of all time!
I can watch this over and over and I’ll never get tired of this film
It fills me with so much nostalgia and happiness and emotion
Fun Fact: The barn scene when Raphael yells Splinters name into the night was actually Michaelangelo. I've seen on other TH-cam videos on how there was a story arc on Mickey taking Splinters loss the hardest. He also has an extended training scene in the barn where he was shown breaking boards but the final cut is just him hitting the bag. Plus the rooftop scene when Casey and Splinter look up you can can hear Michaelangelo fighting Shredder solo
Taken str8 from the comics as well, back then it was a concerted effort to show a more serious side of Mikey.
It's also one of the closest Comic Book (Mirage TMNT 1984) faithful loyal adaptation ever put to silver screen.

I'm so unbelievably glad, satisfied, and fulfilled you brought up Raph's scream when Splinter went missing
I watched it recently and I felt like a kid again!!! And it was funny ❤

Yea that surprised me too when he said that. But yea amongst the public and world wide, Ppl love The Turtles!
I absolutely love both the 1990 original and secret of the ooze. Though the second was more light hearted, it has some great fight scenes.
Sucks that they don't make this type of movies anymore.
Well they didn't back then either, that's why it's so special.
This movie is so good, I watched it for the first time the other day after seeing it in the theaters originally and it still holds up.
