We played this in my band we did a tour in France and Belgium and played this peice in the last post ceremony at menin gate in Belgium, the ceremony was very moving, I was very proud to be playing this at such a special occasion
We've played this in Normandy: Chateau de Caen, Esplanade Le Havre, Notre Dame Saint-lô,, Place Saint-Sauveur Caen and in Honfleur. After visiting the landing beaches, playing Band of Brothers is much more impressive.
Our concert band (Fulton Community Band) plays this on occasion. A couple of times we have played it in a joint concert with the Tenth Mountain Division Army Band of Fort Drum in NYS. I play the first horn part. The recording here is of is a good band. I do add a few things that were on the CD, and we do a bit more with rubato etc. I would like to do the Requiem part with our band's occasional singer as a duet, but I don't know of an arrangement; I may have to do one myself.
I asked my band director if we can play this song again this year, but he said no. I loved it so much last year when we played it. It has to be my favorite band song I've ever played.
We are rehearsing this in Whitby (England) at the moment - probably my favourite film score ever. Upper Woodwind are finding it tough towards the end but they love it really! Heavenly music from Kamen, brilliant arranging from Brubaker. Sorry, I have to ask though, why have at least two earlier comments called this a song ! - where are the words, where is the singer ? It’s like calling a giraffe a horse - unbelievable!!! How can this wonderful symphonic creation be a song. That said well done you two for appreciating this heart rending music. Check out the first comment under “ Band of Brothers main theme soundtrack” (this is the original Soundtrack not the one we are talking about here) while listening to the music, if that doesn’t get to you, then nothing will.
This is a great arrangement and is played very well here. My band plays it too (I'm the first horn player), and we do just a little more with dynamics and rubato. IMO the arrangement can use just a little tweaking like that.
I love this music so much it is very Vers good♡♡♡ I looked the film 6 times and it is so epic and the music of course to*-* Can anyone tell me where i can get the sheet music for the first Part?
An awesome series with a great soundtrack!

Amo essa série. Assisti várias vezes do começo ao fim.
Dynamics make the piece, either band or orchestra - to feel the music inside, either the musician or audience. Wonderful music here.
First trombone three years running and we've played this piece each year for graduation. Absolute favorite :)
Hows it going now?

Yeah, it could be interesting to do it one together. What do you think?
awesome
-> Thediegmyster: Well, it's not really for symphonic orchestra; this is a concert-band arrangement. You can't hear violins, here. ^_^

I want to recommend this piece to m conductor
(i'm a horn player)
+Merrill R My concert band played it last year, and as a horn player, I can say that it's a piece you won't forget playing any time soon :)
Where can I buy this?
Not really. Some far better solos exist in orchestral literature.
