I play on rx580 1080p with everything maxed aside of shadows, and my game looks nothing like this... in a bad way. Everything 10 meters away is blurry and near by terrain and char is ... more ... pixelated
Finally someone who knows how to play the game, yes it is boring if you just smash square and shoot a ranged weapon, but when you mix it up it is so much fun.
One thing you forgot to mention is that you can 100%-0% small enemys in the air if you cancel before the last attack into jump then attack again. You can also shoot little before and go into attack since it will keep them in the air. Also the best way to get good air with wiht slow two hands :)
If you go Ranged use Wung Fu too. 100% worth it. Their special attacks are actually easier to pull off than the melee and you can use Ranged attacks during ultimate Wung Fu mode and you just melt enemies.
I have a tip of my own, an utility combo if you wil: If you use the shroom + blaze you'll fly reeeaally high up into the air, if you cast more blazes while going up you'll be able to go even higher and further! Plus you can do this pretty early on!
This how people are supposed to be playing a game that offers huge variety, not just using one method to defeat all enemies just because the game allows you to ,maybe if the devs added some kind of scoring system like DMC then people would be more willing to mash-up things a little bit.
RIGHT !! The devs said it's at it's peak when you are chaining different moves and abilities but people play one way and then call the game boring and repetitive. I don't get why people want a one size fits all in a game that rewards variance. It's also an issue with many triple A games, they try and be everything and appeal to everyone at the same time which they obviously fail at and end up being shallow then the same people call it trash but when a game does something different and sticks to it's theme they call it boring and repetitive. Makes no sense. People don't know what they want which is why they end up complaining about anything and everything under the guise of criticism.

Its like saying basket ball is at its peak when you are getting dunks and 3 pointers so the only way we should be able to score is dunks and 3 pointers, ignoring that theres more to the game than just that. Do you know how many games have come out where players discovered a way to play the game that the developers didn't intend and it turns out to enhance the experience?

You can channel rad wisps and use other spells if your a caster. It’ll come close to guns later in the game if you’ve got really high intellect and the life steal perk psi freaks keeps you alive pretty well.
Idk if this is known but, when launching an enemy up in the air and doing a combo you can cancel that move mid way there and shoot them and restart doing the combo while in the air.
You don't need to be a mage to use the magic stuff throughout your adventure you gain points that can only be used to get spells, you just can't cast as many spells as you would with a magic focused build.
I really enjoy the game. It’s not perfect but the devs on it. Once they get rid of some of the hugs and add stuff in it’s going to be even more fun. I’m looking forward to everything in the future.
Searched legit 30min for a good combat video. I am very unsure if the combat is better/ or a bit funnier like Imortal Fenyx. Played Fenyx it was fun but yeah... Biomutant looks interesting, how is the difficult on hard? Fenyx difficulty was absurd easy on hard... but fun. ^^ Don't want to shoot all the things and your video shows it is possible to kill the enemies with sword and skill based gameplay. And how much combat is in the game? Around 50% Combat and 50% walking, looting and nothing? 60-70% Combat would be nice i like looting to but i need many enemies. ^^ Hope the enemy's are walking all over the world... and not only in caves, outpost, nearby totems chest or so... (:
I'm really enjoying the game. The tip for breaking down ultimate weapons is really useful because I have some that are just too far beyond my current level.

If you're worried about M+K not being good, I've played with both and while Controller is more comfortable the M+K controls are just fine too you could totally play with those alone and have a good time.
Isnt the base part of the ultimate weapon the part with all the stats, perks and elemental damage anyway? Changing the base type still means its "ultimate" but generally youre losing out on the stats of that base part.

Doing a complex moveset because *it's more fun* isn't a good argument when Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Viewtiful Joe, and hundreds of other games exist that have combos and ranged combat, but melds the two together in a way that works. Biomutant's developers know that many action games include melee and ranged combat, but did nothing to encourage you to mix it up other than trying to make the game less boring. This is an argument to *not* play Biomutant.

I love it so far since I've been playing rpgs since I was little and know how the mechanics work in those games. If you're looking for a dmc type score system also like Bayonetta. I get it, but this is rpg based crafting, different biomes, reminds me of breath of the wild. And I loved that game so much. Give it a break and know they may implement some things through updates.
Bro this games menus and crafting systems and stuff are so confusing which is frustrating because I am LOVING the combat so far. It’s so floaty and fun. But I’m still using my default stuff 7 hours into the game.. it’s telling me I can’t craft anything?! Lol I don’t understand it
There’s a mission you have to do to unlock the crafting mechanics, if you complete the mission labeled “return to you childhood home”or something like that it will unlock

There's a bunch of stuff you can do like rescue people, pet tiny animals, shrines, etc to increase your light aura that has no bearing on the story choices.
What do you mean by canceling? At 1:15 into your video you explain a jump into some other skills, and then you say you follow up with a cancel into a melee strike. What is canceling, and how do you do it, please? You don't explain that part of it.
I’ve been playing video games since 87, and I’m having a tough time getting the melee combat down. I feel like the lines that let you know when an enemy has a about to strike are to lended with the environment. Idk.. maybe I’m just old
You gotta remember this game was created by like 20 people, so like temper your expectations. Doesn't mean that it will be bad just probably isn't going to blow your socks off.
I cant get over how bad the combat _sounds_ I don't know how any self respecting audio designer can listen to that and go "yup, great, ship it". So much i can put up with but god awful sound design is not one of them. just embarrassing.
It would also barely take a moment to fix it. Hire a good sound guy for a week, and most problems will be over. Let's hope they get around to fix it. Might consider giving it a buy then, especially if it goes on sale.
Really tried to like this game but it just doesn't feel good to play. It's not that it's jank(I mean it is) but the phrasing of sentences is really poor, the writing is pretty bad, there's not a lot of impact to the hits, enemies have almost no audio cues, and the tutorial is pretty bad. Heck even after watching guides and understanding the combat it just doesn't feel rewarding or the combat doesn't feel "right".

Mutation abilitys use less energy that Psy energy so there better to use as openers for combos. Once you get use to it the combat slaps.

Class is not super important. Every class can pretty much eventually do all the same stuff, with a few exceptions.
