Unless he blows the hawks away in interviews With Connelly's off ice issues, I think the hawks stay far away from him. They are very particular with attitudes and pasts of players (example see what happened with Perry). Maybe Michael Hage.
Curious to hear if you think the Flames would trade 9 down to 14 and 33 with the Sharks if Tij isn’t available?… or if you think any other teams would consider this?
I think if we could trade the 14 and 33rd pick to get Buium or Parekh then we have to do it. Getting one of those with Macklin would be the cornerstones of our power play for the next 15 years
you guys have done a great job with the top 23. Quick rational analysis for each team's pick and very thorough discussions of each players skill set. As a Flyer's fan, I think Helanius' fit with Michkov makes alot of sense and he should fit better for Torts as a committed two way player than Catton. Look forward to your completion of the first round. Are you waiting to see how the outcome of the playoffs will determine the draft order of the final 8/9 picks?
Thanks! Yes, Helenius would be a nice stylistic fit in Philadelphia, but with how open the top end of the 1st round is, there are any number of possible selections in that slot, which is exciting. We are indeed waiting for the playoffs to wrap up in order to make our final mock draft, which will likely be split over 2 episodes so we can really dive into the rationale of each selection. Look for that in early June!
Zegras stinks unless you’re playing roller hockey and judging based on scoring Michigan goals twice a year. Kid needs to grow up. Gauthier is the next PLD, Laine, and Marner. If it doesn’t come easy then he won’t work hard.
Could you comment some more on what you mean by Boisvert being such an islanders pick ? How do you think he fits with the red wings ? Do you see him as an NHL winger ? What year do you think he makes the NHL ? Great show as always. You guys are the best, most professional speakers about hockey anywhere.
The Isles love their smart, safe, physical, centers who can score goals, which is precisely what Boisvert is. The Wings certainly value his profile of player, but after picking Kasper and Danielson who are better versions of that profile, we doubt they spend their 1st on Boisvert. Boisvert is a likely NHL center, especially as it’s where his subpar skating is least detrimental. Our guess is that he contends for an NHL spot in 2026-27 and is a high likelihood NHLer the following year. And thank you for the kind words!
Have you guys been living under a rock the last few years? No way the Hawks take Connolly. The number one criteria for them in hiring staff and drafting is character, have you noticed that Cory Perry isn't there anymore? Along with the entire office and coaching staff? The Hawks are a zero tolerance organization.
The physical tools are a clear notch above, whether it be the athleticism, skating, or physicality. He also has a game breaking ability the others lack, which is why they’re in such distinctly different tiers as prospects
Drafting Iginla 5th instead of Lindstrom makes no sense. Indeed, Lindstrom is a big center/winger which would be an ideal replacement at center if Dach still has problems staying injury free. Mckenzie has Lindstrom top5 versus Iginla ranked 10th !!!
The Devils picking Eiseman at 10 makes no sense, after the failure of Holz why would they pick another player with a good shot and no defence or compete ?
@@billbaker3357 You're not a Devils fan other wise you would know that the reason Holtz struggled to stay in the team and get more time on ice is because of how bad he is defensively that's why he is mostly put on the third line.
@@Theon435 a real Devils fan would know he spent most of the time on the 4th line =P. But think of it like this. With Holtz, the coaches felt his offensive output didn't offset his defensive liability. With Eiserman, I would wager his offensive output would easily offset his defensive issues (issues that seem less than Holtz showed during his draft year)
I don't think there's a world the ducks take Demidov. he's a left shot, verbeek said he was looking for a right shot, he's also not huge or particularly gritty which are 2 things we know Verbeek values. Just doesn't seem like a Verbeek pick at all to me
Anaheim can’t score goals to save its life. Anaheim is not passing on Demidov if he’s there. Gauthier can’t score goals by himself with Vatrano. Demidov and Gauthier are the future in Anaheim IF he’s there
He would be on the line with Gauthier. Gauthier will handle all the checking. Anaheim just needs a pure goal scorer. And that’s what Demidov brings to the table. Anaheim would be extremely lucky to have an opportunity to get Demidov. He’s suppose to be better than Michkov from last year

Anaheim would be broken if they got Demidov. Leo, Gauthier, Tavish, Demidov, Zegras. That’s cheating at this point
That top 6 is locked forever
Zegras would be traded

Could not hit any pick pick better than that🔥 Not the same draft board I have but similar
