Yeah no clue as to why Bethesda insists the AP cost has to be so high on energy weapons in general. When you compare them to their ballistic counterparts that get the -50% VATs AP cost when you convert them to automatic receivers, and the fact that most ballistic commando weapons can be silenced for sneak bonuses, it doesn’t make sense. Why would I roll with a plasma rifle or laser rifle when a handmade or a fixer is just superior in every practical way for DPS and ammo efficiency? Energy weapons in the lore were the bleeding edge before the war and make rice paper of even power armor, especially plasma. It makes sense they can’t stealth, so instead give them comparable AP costs so they can Rambo Commando better than ballistics, giving them their niche.

Stealth sniper + liquid courage and maybe another player acting as a meat shield. with VATS Critical hits and perk cards to increase damage. it still does 1400 damage to the head for earlie. 2300 atleast for a critical and i’m not including the follow through perk being maxed( still don’t have that legendary perk card maxed)
Agreed, the AP is ridiculous on the plasma guns. That said, they aren't too bad as a spray and pray. Got a Quad Explosive -90% weight from somebody's vendor (not Enclave, but too cheap to pass up), and put the flamer and pulse capacitor on for the projectile effect. It really is too much fun, and Daily Ops is giving a decent amount of ammo back now that it doesn't despawn so quickly.
I got every Enclave rifle mod for sale if anyone needs, except the forceful stock which I swapped earlier for one of them silly glowing masks. Also I have a ton of AA, Bloodied, explosive box mods. Xbox only
27 bullets feels terrible in vats and the ap cost is outrageous but the damage is nutty. also the pulse capacitor bug for normal plasma guns that turns the flamer into automatic rifles sucks vs this version of the gun but has 300 bullets in the mag
Trying to get the same but with AA, just need the explosive mod, trying to toy around with 2 shot EX splitter laser rifle too. AP cost has always been too high on energy guns they already have stunted ammo.
I have a enclave rifle with flamer mod with the explosive effect, was a legacy weapon I used to own and it's feels so good to have it back. Probably gets nerfed again in the future though.
AP cost for this gun is a lot easier to manage with Unyielding gear because you have much higher AP total, along with the other benefits of low health builds
I got a quad gat plasma and i put the explos1ve mod on and breaks quick lol but 2000 round per core and i got a b/25/25 plasma r1fle from doing an expedition
Try using a regular plasma rifle then u put any flamer barrel on it then u add a pulse capacitor then u will have a flamer with infinite range then u add explosive to it much better then enclave ❤
How is 50% damage increase better than 2 shot +25% damage? Shouldn't it be double damage + 25%? So way more than 50% extra damage but people saying it is?
@wiggle_plays thanks. But i actually see 2 bullets per shot sometimes? But i guess both shots are reduced damage to equal both combined to be only 25% more than the normal single bullet damage?

I made a Bethesda support ticket to add the perk Plasma Spaz from fallout NV. Reduce ap costs for plasma weapons by 25%.

I keep getting plasma rifle explosive drops. Medics explosive plasma rifle is my favorite event gun now.
Been running around with a QE25 since the update was out. Had a QRap25 modded and ready for that Explo mod. Too much fun

Ive been using an epr instead of my fixer and wow im never going back, you just have to have a sizeable ap pool and its a great weapon
Quad explode automatic enclave>>>>> explosive pulse capacitor plasma. Only thing you can make the pulse capacitor have 0 recoil when firing.

I don't think flamers or plasmas with the flamer mods get any effect from the explosive legendary mods though :')

@@zarxy1x228 Put on the flamer barrel first then the beta tuner, it should work then with the exploive perk on it.

Two shot isn't two shots. It's just +25%. Screwy I know, but that's how it works.

Yes. Damage is increased by 25% and then split into two projectiles.
When I said it wasn't two shots, I meant to say it wasn't two shots that each do 100%. It's two shots each doing 67.5%

This was a waste of mods, use them on a regular plasma with aligned flamer barrel and pulse capacitor for 300 rounds instead of 27
