Kawasaki makes the best motorcycles! I definitely prefer my 1000SX but I would not complain about this Versys.
Hello , may I ask you how tall are you for the sx?
@@georgepipinis542 Hello, George. I'm 6'2". The N1K fits me very well!
@@LiterFreedom thank you so much
I had a 2016 Versys 100 that I loved. I put 80,000 km on it in 3 years, off and off pavement and had zero issues with it. I almost bought another but I like change and I wanted a little more off road capability so I bought a new 2021 BMW R1250GS. The GS suits my riding better but I could be very happy with a gen 3 Versys. It's too bad it's overlooked by so many people.
I have Versys 650, love it and I can see myself upgrading to a 1000. I would prefer to try different model but Versys fit me so well. So I will have to put this in the 'if is not broken don't fix it' category
Mine is 2020 SE LT with 36K mileage and I have traveled to entire Southern US. The maintenance is little expansive however still cheaper than most BMW bikes. I love my versys cause she never broke down on her 36kMileage journey and I believe I can keep her for another 36k miles worry free. I custom out mine for my height & weight. I am really looking forward to Next Generation of Versys. My only request to Versys Engineering Team is to add Shaft Drive, Beside that, this bike is more than capable of riding to any part of the Earth as long as you are on the paved road, I never tried off road cause she is a Touring bike not an Adventure as the Narrator mentioned in the beginning & can’t agree more on the Heated Grips switch. However I really love the heated grips cause they work so great once you figure out the Heating Level. If you own this Bike, I know you love this bike, if you looking to purchase this bike, I promise you won’t regret.
I do however use 20/80 Tires not cause I use her for light off roading but the life on those tires is better than street only tires.
I see the Versys 1000 used bikes with 30-50,000 miles on them . Same with some BMWs. Most other the tourers like Ducati Multistrada have low mileage. Says a lot about the quality, customer acceptance and longevity of these brands over others.
I just bought an occasion Versys 1000 from 2013 with about 55k on the clock. The dealer is currently servicing it and fixing a few minor things I noticed during my test ride, and now I still have to wait three more days. Which I am filling with watching any review of any version of the Versys 1000 under the sun. Of which there are great amounts. The good news is, I keep seeing all the things that once made me fall in love with this bike when I had it as a loaner back in 2016 or so. Amazing seating position, great 2-up touring, juuust agressive enough to enjoy on the street without constantly feeling like you're missing out (like on all those more sporty/race-y competitors), and that seat man, that seat... Opinions differ but I test-drove a newer version as well and I don't much care for any other electronics than ABS and maybe TC, which is on the 2013, so I guess I'm good! :) So thanks, you helped pass the time. I am so looking forward to moving my 2003 Deauville 650 into the spare bike spot and get rolling! :)
Actually look forward to your reviews... You do an excellent job covering things others skip.
Thanks for your support!
As always, great review
Hey man! I’m hoping you can answer I’m Interested in buying this bike or the tracer by Yamaha. Does kawi bike offer turn by turn nav? I’m having so much trouble riding my bike here in Florida when it rains using my phone as navigation but when the water collects on my phone it pushes every button possible and I’m just riding blind. I really want to own versys1K but I need better navigation any tips or tricks please help a new rider out 🤙🏾
Great job on the vid today and you can see the bike movement on the video great job Peter
2024 Versys 1000, nice review!
Hi Peter. Nice bike, but my days for that type of fun have passed!
Give me a nice sedate hybrid now… 😊
There is a Kawasaki Hybrid bike available 😊
11:31 I have a 2022 V1000 and the quick shift only works on the up shift, not down. Did Kawasaki change that?
My understanding is that it works both ways.
Can the cornering lights serve as a DRL role during daylight for extra visibility?
I wish you could reprogram them, but I'm not aware of any way to do that, as far as I know, they're only able to light up in cornering as I describe.
still waiting on that Ninja 500 SE krt vs 650 2024 video.
I'll do that video. It won't be today, but I plan to do that soon.
Versys are very reliable
love from india
Why is the Versys about $4000.00 more than the Suzuki GSX1000+?
In America, we are about the same GSX 1000 and Versys. However, we
can get a Kawasaki 5k lower on sale. The technology on this bike, especially at the sale prices, is excellent.

Tbh.. the incandescent turn signal is more noticeable at day time than that of Led.
I don't know about that. A well designed light of any kind is going to be noticeable, there are plenty of poor LED lights around, but I still prefer good LED signals over the incandescent ones.
I do agree about better visibility of incandescent turn lights under bright sunslight, often encounter it with various new cars (it seems for a moment their turn lights isn't on, but after second look I can see it flashing). Maybe it is due to too short timing of light staying on (in darker environment, our eyes will "see" the light after very short blink, but in when adapted to bright sunlight, these effect disappears), so that lit phase has to be longer. Plus spectrum width, LED lights have it very narrow. On my cheap bike, I have all lights LED, but didn't watch it from the distance.
Depends if the led is made for it's housing. I have a tst industries led rear signals that outshines by old stock incandescents by a landslide and that brightness is seen from all angles. Not just one direction.
@@MiguelRPD That is probably a good aftermarket stuff. I am judging by factory LED lights of new cars. Surely, incandescent lights of very old cars are even worse, but with new cars it feels a bit weird, as they look very bright in less sunny weather. Probably, has something to do with the spectrum.
you need to show both sides of the bike. what's up with parking close to the wall hiding the dark side?
Go to a dealership if you like the bike that much.
Sometimes I show both sides. I just find that I have to balance showing quite a lot of details, with showing EVERY detail. There comes a time where if you show every detail, it becomes unwatchable. You're the first person to request that I show the other side.
HOGs are fuggly on one side, not the Kwakis, though.
needs more power and it would be great bike, sport touring, its the same bike as the 2019, needs a new engine PLZ.....if it did, I would of bought this bike over my GS
The power works for me, but I hear what you're saying. I don't think this is trying to be a GS though, so to me they're similar, but different classes.
They need update !!
Apple carplay !!
You think? I guess that would be nice, I just don't see a huge need for the full CarPlay suite of features on a motorcycle. A good Garmin GPS gives a lot of functionality too. That's what I'd add to this.
Calling a 1000cc bike beginner bike. 😄
I don't think that's exactly the context... But maybe I misspoke. The point is that the lower power modes do allow less experienced riders get used to this bike.
@@PeterLoweOne ok that make sense. 🫶
