I went on a tone chasing journey this past 2 years to find the best amp for my home studio. I went from modelers & tube amps back and forth 5 times buying and reselling stuff every time (Helix stomp, Fractal FM3 x3, Axe-Fx III, Mesa TC-50 x2, Mark IV, JP-2C, Mark V 25 x3, Orange TH30, Tiny terror) before settling on the OR15. It's that good. Case closed.
Yeh I have sv20h, ac30hwh superchamp x2, katana and an opus but the or15 just feels good and is fun to play, my favourite atm, and that's though pulsonic g12m, celly blue, cream it doesn't matter which cab I use
Jon is the best amp reviewer on TH-cam. One of these amp companies should hire him as their video marketing guru. He has an incredible ability to showcase all the amp can do. Thanks for your videos Jon.
I've been singing the OR15's praises for years and this video just proves that it's a versatile studio workhorse on top of all the other great things it does. It's easily my favorite of all the Orange lunchboxes (and i've owned a few). Great video!
jus wanna say this review was a key factor in my purchase of this amp. I am so beyond satasfied now owning it for a few months. This thing has so many varying tones - and its a single channel its unbelievable. I run it into a peavey 4x12 cab and i was floored it is loud 15 watts is! def loud enough to jam over loud metal drums.
This is definitely the most comprehensive amp demo I’ve ever seen hands down. Not enough good can be said about the OR 15. It will, more than likely go down as one of those highly sought after amps in the years to come. Cheers
This has to be one of the best amp demos on youtube, haven't seen another go into this much detail with all the different genre's and guitars. Freaking amazing guitarist!!! This is what every amp review should look like. Also proves that depending on your guitar and the way you play, you can achieve just about anything with the Orange OR15.
Man I’ve wanted an Orange for a while and then I watched this video a few months back - really helped cement it. A used one just popped up locally and I can’t wait to plug into it!
It’s amazing how versatile a single channel amp can be. I just ordered a Suhr reactive load to go with my OR15 and Helix. So pumped to give it a try with some IR’s!
Josh It’s was a great combo but the Suhr quit working out of the blue after a few weeks so I sent it back and got the torpedo captor. I like it just as well.
After a few minutes into the demo I cared not about the amp but for the player. What a player your are my friend. Just GREAT. Great music ear man. All them chords are singing.
This is handss down the best amp channel on YT, no excessive talking, great playing, great recording, tons of different tones and comparisons. This channel is seriously a gem
Outstanding demo ! I added to your thread on Gearslutz. My OR15 is a factory made Holy Terror version with Mercury Magnetics trans, Mullard tubes and premium capacitors. What a beauty.... Great playing as well in your demo.
Great demo! I just picked one up a few days ago and it's my dream amp. It's has all the sounds I've been looking for and then some. I love it's fluffy roar.
I’ve probably watched at least 100 times. Such great content. I still haven’t scratched my Orange amp itch (GAS) I keep coming back to the OR 15 time and time again. Even after purchasing a great set up 😢
OK Sir. I am sold! With OR15 and Mesa Dual Recto (in the future), my dream is completed. No more searching around and endless comparison. Thank you very much!
Man this amp sounds amazing, that was some damn fine playing too, covered a lot of styles but definitely getting Mastodon vibes with the heavier tones, though it was Brent for a sec!
wonderful playing, love the picking hand. Great variety of tones, all wonderful. By the end of the review I had to start over I couldn't believe the amp at the beginning was the same as the one at the end!
got to give you 👍👍 takes alot of time to test all these different styles for this one amp and all the other amps in the other videos. Thanks for the in depth analysts. This is helping me find the right amp to buy as i am in the market to replace my crappy fender mustang 1 😂
I bought this amp 2 months ago after owning a Friedman Runt , Bogner Atma and load of other amps and preamps ! And it has by far the best rock tone ! If I figure out how to remote control the gain and volume is will be laughing. Vic Canada
There's a good demo on here of someone using an MXR 10band in front of an OR50 and making it sound like a switchable clean channel. Might be worth trying out on one of these little guys.
I just sold my Friedman Pink Taco, which was a fantastic amp. It was just too "tight" for me though. I liked my old Tiny terror better in a lot of ways. Now I'm hearing this bad boy, and "that's more like it!"
Man, you are very inspiring to watch, and all of the tunes you play are fresh, and you know how to set your tones. I just want to keep watching and listening. I'm still looking for my (near) perfect amp. A Bugera G5 is much better than I thought. Very useful amp for home. I also have a Genz-Benz El Diablo 60 (6L6 tubes installed) and just bought a PRS MT15. I'm not used to the MT 15 yet, and have to put in some serious time in order to like it. I haven't dialed in any good tones yet. The Orange OR15 looks like what I have in mind.
First of all love the channel, your demos are laid out perfectly covering so many styles. Secondly, do you play in a band by chance? Your riffing is top tier man, especially the metal stuff as that’s what I play, gives me a lot of inspiration. Keep it up!
Thank you! your reviews are SO GOOD - as is your playing. Really get a sense of exactly what you're reviewing. Super helpful. Now I just need to decide if I grab the OR15 or the Rockerverb 50 MKiii - all for home studio use - based on your other vid on the mkiii I'm tempted by the bigger more open vibe - but this 15 sounds great
I’m a proud owner of one of these which I’ve had since 2017. Paired with a PPC112, but I’m really interested to hear how the head would sound with an Emperor RS 1x12 loaded with the Celestion Creamback they offer since the PPC112 uses the V30
I love the sound of this and not just because you do great reviews, but even the other orange amps you’ve done just don’t sound as perfect as this one. Personal taste, of course, but man how could anyone not notice how nice this one sounds?
5:44 And when I was about to say it sounds good, SD-1 popped up. Having Ibanez with DiMarzio myself no wonder I like it. Plus it somehow reminds me of RATT hahaha. Everything past that point is to much gain for me. Funny considering I'm metal head. It sounds dope on clean with singles. Pity those are all IRs without a real speaker.
fantastic job, top notch riffing and production! even if i have an axe fx 2 which is awesome i still find there's place for lunchbox amps when recording direct. I have used my framus dragon head which has a preamp line out into the axe fx + it and it sound great.
I'm torn between getting a OR15 or a Rocker 15, or maybe a TH30. I'm after some good crunch tones for more break up, classic rock/heavy style, to complement with my Mini rectifier. I'm currently using a Marshall SC20 but it's too loose and high treble for my taste. Thanks!
A lot Coheed type tones im hearing here.. i own this amp and actually had to send it back for repair within a month. Just quit working altogether one day. Bummer. Still waiting on getting it back.
This amp gives the impression it sounds big compared to most low wattage amps. What do you think? Nice videos btw, I like them because we use similar IR's so I can get a good idea of how these amps sound.
Ok…. Now I don’t know what to get !!! I’m a bedroom guitarist / bassist who plays mostly punk like Green Day, Alkaline Trio, Nofx, Bad Religion. But I also love still like Mastodon, Slipknot, Gojira, Killswitch Engage. I’m torn between Marshall DSL 1 or 5 & this Orange. It looks like you have a few videos demoing some of the amps I’ve been researching. With what I mentioned though what do you reccomend? Or am I fine with either option?

I agree, it's a great change of pace
And usually djent. I like djent but not all the time and for a demo....every damned time 🤢🤮
Yea other channels play the same old pentatonic scales over and over
Not only does that amp sound absolutely amazing, the guitar player is fantastic!
This is such a joy to listen to.

Is the amp loud enough for a meal band with a hard hitting drummer?. Thanks
@@gazzaduce3424 Yeah it is loud enough.

Probably the most all-covered amp review channel on TH-cam!
Maybe make an episode to show what you play to review an amp? It will be awesome.
I've been singing the OR15's praises for years and this video just proves that it's a versatile studio workhorse on top of all the other great things it does. It's easily my favorite of all the Orange lunchboxes (and i've owned a few). Great video!
Not only has this been the best demo of an amp I‘ve ever seen, but man that Chimey Humbucker sound!

I have watched many demos of gear in my many years of being a guitar nerd and without a doubt this is the best demo I’ve come across

This is what every amp review should look like. Also proves that depending on your guitar and the way you play, you can achieve just about anything with the Orange OR15.
I watch this video every few months just to make myself smile. I've got an OR15 with a JB loaded SG and I get some of these tones. Lovely stuff.
This is how an amp demo should be done! awesome!
Man I’ve wanted an Orange for a while and then I watched this video a few months back - really helped cement it. A used one just popped up locally and I can’t wait to plug into it!
Your attention to L-R balance is outstanding, both my ears are having fun right now.
So I was here for the metal stuff....i ended up enjoying the strat clean stuff the most. Thanks for the inspiration man
It’s amazing how versatile a single channel amp can be. I just ordered a Suhr reactive load to go with my OR15 and Helix. So pumped to give it a try with some IR’s!
Hey there, how are you liking that combo? I’m currently waiting for a Suhr Reactive Load IR to come in. Pretty excited to try it out with the OR15!
Josh It’s was a great combo but the Suhr quit working out of the blue after a few weeks so I sent it back and got the torpedo captor. I like it just as well.
Best Or15 review I watched on youtube!!!
I wanted to sell mine but I finally gave up after watching that video: so many possibilities
great review and great playing too. Especially loved the stuff done on the barritone.
After a few minutes into the demo I cared not about the amp but for the player. What a player your are my friend. Just GREAT. Great music ear man. All them chords are singing.
Thanks man!
Probably the best demo I've ever seen/heard showing the full range of an amp. Probably buying one now!
This is handss down the best amp channel on YT, no excessive talking, great playing, great recording, tons of different tones and comparisons. This channel is seriously a gem
Bravo!!! this is a demo of how demos should be done. 80s hard rock was crazy spot on. New sub, so happy to be here
Ok, this is the new gold standard for testing amps :-) Well done - thanks for posting!
And what an impressive and versatile amp.
That's an excellent demo. The idea of using many guitars/settings really gives the right idea about this amp. Well done!
Some beautiful playing there dude and the orange sounds bloody fantastic! Nice job!
Your sense of harmony and composition is just amazing!
Excellent video! Will watch again just for your playing!
Very enjoyable demo. Variety, tones, chops. Nice!
That was incredible. What a range. Great work!
Honestly, your youtube channel is really great. Your comparisons are really good. And your riffs are great and musical !

Mullard tubes and premium capacitors. What a beauty.... Great playing as well in your demo.
Amazing demo mate this is the best or 15 demo I have seen. Love that you covered all styles and managed to get a baritone guitar in there too👍
So much time and effort into making this, this is my kind of review
Great demo! I just picked one up a few days ago and it's my dream amp. It's has all the sounds I've been looking for and then some. I love it's fluffy roar.

@@benjaminfeddersen7937 Hi, I actually bought his Mesa V30 and Marshall cab IRs. And to my ears, OwnHammer IRs are the best in the business.
Quickly becoming my favorite amp demo channel. Fantastic playing and excellent tonal variety for the amps.
Amp sounds great Jon. I love that like nearly all Orange amps, it can go from crunchy classic rock flavor to full throttle metal tones with ease.
Man this amp sounds amazing, that was some damn fine playing too, covered a lot of styles but definitely getting Mastodon vibes with the heavier tones, though it was Brent for a sec!

Your collection grew quick that's only been three years ago.. Outstanding guitar chops
Thank you! I guess I'm dedicated :)
Just awesome and to the point with such cool playing!!!
Impressive playing. That amp does sound good. The IR and the loadbox do a lot in the signal chain too. Great video !
You are the best! I have OR15 and love this amp so much.
I got myself this little beauty too. Killer amp. Love it.
I own this amp and come back to this video frequently just to remind myself how good my amp can sound in the right hands lol!

I sold all of my amps because I’m exclusively a kemper guy and have tens of thousands of profiles, but this amp makes me want to buy the real deal.
