One rumor has popped up saying that a Ukraine midlevel commander on his own authority went and "conquered" the island.
And Russia responded with a MLRS barrage that essentially wiped out the unit, platoon or maybe company, and forced them to limp back home with nothing but casualties as a result.

Not a new thing. You should have seen the standard textbook that every conscript was given here in Sweden back in the 80s(and previous versions ever since the 60s IIRC).
It had a whole long chapter describing all the basic ways to do camouflage, how to make a simple wooden frame with some tarp over it look like a tank through thermal imagers, how to hide from optical sensors as opposed to IR, nightvision or radar etc etc etc... How to use the sound of rain or terrain features to mask movement noise, how to choose movement paths to have the best chance of remaining unseen

That's because when Ukraine ran around trying to pretend that all locations had ANCIENT Ukrainian names instead of using their actual Russian names, they ran out of names very rapidly due to Ukrainian being effectively a dialect of Russian, and as such, isn't a very "broad" language, so they started repeating themselves. Just this video, i noticed there's another Arkhanelske down in Zaporoche region as well.

No, its just Ukrainian forces. But i dont want to draw the entire Ukraine in blue.
Why make their logistics simpler? Because they dont have the manpower to stop an offensive on a different front. It wont stop Ukraine from having to send munitions and people to the same places they have to now.
Its further, means more chance to get destroyed along the way.
Another important thing to note: the more Russia looks menacing before the West give up, the more the West wont give up on Ukraine, because it would play into the characterization of Russia

I think that a lot more weapons make it to Ukraine than we hear about , also we never hear how many Ukraine troops are really fighting most we hear is just speculation.
