Being a parent is tough enough. Having someone say that is extremely cruel. Losing a child is most parent's worst nightmare. Very few want to see any of their children die before they pass away. A coworker lost his oldest son and it has taken his wife decades to overcome her grief.

The whole idea of Karen's and speaking to the manager always remind me of the first episode of Tru Blood, where Tara encounters one when working at a store ^_^ the woman had the hairstyle and everything. Tru Blood was ahead of its time!!! ^_^ they had a Karen even before they were a thing ^_^
A similar thing happened to me a while back, me and my wife were shopping with our daughter she went with the kid to go look at clothes I went off to go do groceries, Karen walks up to me and we have a back and forth of her asking me where an item is and me saying idk and I don’t work here. Eventually my wife comes back and an argument ensued, it went in for a while and eventually Karen said we aren’t fit to be raising a child and we don’t deserve her, I restrain my wife from hitting her. Karen then GRABS OUR CHILD and tries to leave with my 4yo daughter, I once again lower my wife’s arms stopping her from giving Karen a shove, I whisper to my wife “she deserves more than a shove.” As I nail her flat in the face. As she falls backwards I catch my daughter and try to leave she tries to stop us and ends up calling the police trying to get us arrested. The cctv and multiple witnesses confirm that Karen struck first and I was merely defending myself and my family. The officer asks “would you like to press charges?” I respond “nah but id lien to do something else real quick, will you let me?” The officer replied “depends what it is.” I say “alright I’ll make it quick.” I turn around and strike the already bloody nose of Karen once more, she falls back and yells in pain, this time I both felt and heard a crush so maybe she had the right to yell in pain, you can clearly tell that everyone else in the room was trying to hold in in bud suddenly everyone burst out laughing. The officer said “I’ll let that one slide for now, she deserves it.” He walked away with Karen escorting her to his vehicle chuckling slightly, we continue shopping, a few weeks later I see that bitch again and get defensive around my kid and wife, she sees us and starts to walk over she says “yooouuu!!! You’re the one who fractured my nose!” I said “yeah and you better stay away from my family because trust me I can hit a lot harder.” She yelled “are you threatening me?!” She called the cops and we got so lucky we couldn’t believe it, it was the same officer as last time! The Karen smiled and said “I’ll have you arrested!” I then have the biggest grin on my face reaching ear to ear and say “are you’d ire about that?” Karen replies “yeah why?” Me “you might wanna look behind you” as the same officer flares at this woman, she looks terrified I begin to chuckle we tell him that Karen was harassing us and the cop says “would you like to do the honours?” As he smiles and steps to the side I respond gleefully “oooh I sure would” I crack my knuckles and strike! Karen once again falls backwards this time blood everywhere, and Karen’s face seems genuinely messed up. The officer pulls me off to the side and says “don’t you think that was I but too hard?” As I say “that was to make up for me hitting her so lightly the first time” he laughed she was sent to the hospital sir s out I had broken it in several places, I had to pay a fair amount for medical bills but it was worth it. Sorry this was so long but I needed to explain it fully and properly, also for those of you who think I shouldn’t have don’t that and she didn’t deserve that just remember that she tried to steal my daughter and she totally did.
They think the police are personal servants who will always believe them and punish anybody they don’t like. It’s pathetic and sad that they think that way and then are shocked when the cops put cuffs on them after seeing the security footage.
They have "holyer then thou" attitude. It's annoying that they think they can scare people and threaten them and that their "high and mighty" and won't get trouble for what they done. Thank God that most do get a slap from karma. (Sorry if that didn't make sense, I be sleepy right now.)

First story: I see now. Karens are so absentmindedly having spiteful thoughts all the time that they've forgotten actual literacy. That girl sounds like all kinds of red flags, and I feel bad for anyone she tries to "persuade". Don't fret it OP, it just sounds like you became the target of contempt by people with sexist double-standards who still takes every women's words for granted, even if it's a lie - there's nothing you could've done to change that outcome, lest you wanted to play into her scheme.
Rage Fury My Mom was a Police Dispatcher for 17 years, she HAD to wear a white dress shirt with patches sewn on the sleeves a badge and ID and black dress slacks. It was mandatory.
That story about the nasty woman insulting a grieving Mother reminded me of an incident that happened about 40 years ago. A young couple had just buried their first born, I don't know why. But at the wake some old man said in a loud voice that it was probably for the best as the parents were too young, and too stupid to raise a kid. One of the couple's father's (don't know which) belted the guy in the mouth, breaking his jaw. He of course sued, but everyone in the crowd that day came to court, and swore he fell down, and nobody hit him. Karma is real, and she bites hard.
I have a story similar to the last one. About 20 years ago I went to the clinic for prenatal vitamins. It was really busy there and the line was outside the building. My boyfriend at the time had some local celebrity status. Well the 80+ year old woman was standing in front of me and my roommate. We were talking about my boyfriend and the old bitch turns around. She asked if I was dating (insert name here). I replied with "Yes I am and we are expecting our first child. I am actually here for a prenatal visit." My ex was born with a rather notable birth defect that ran in his family. Part of his fame came from his family having a long history in carnivals and side shows. So this woman gets a sneer on her face. "You are an evil and wicked woman for wanting to have a child like that. I hope your child dies in your womb because you are a cursed bitch". I was shocked, horrified, and instantly pissed. I did slap the woman in the face and told her to go to hell. My daughter is now 19 and is a model. She is perfect in every way. My ex is still one of my best friends and that old bat had no idea what she was talking about.

I was so disgusted at the last story. I can’t even imagine how someone can be this awful.
If that had been my grandmother, I would've told her to find her own way home. I refuse to be related to anyone who thinks it's ok to speak that way to anyone for any reason, let alone right after experiencing a loss as painful as a child.

When I heard the old hag said "maybe it's better for people like you" I felt such rage. My Aunt lost two baby's because of a similar situation to op. I garentee if I had been there that would have been her last day living.
If that would have happened to my wife and I, I’d be in jail for murder. I feel deeply for the couple that lost their child.

My heart breaks for OP and her husband. We lost my brother (19) 8 months ago and I still don’t have the courage to look at his belongings. I know how draining it is to be in public while grieving.

To the poor woman who had to deal with the witch in the department store -- I'm glad you and your husband didn't react as I would have -- and that is to slap the stupid out of her! The whole idea of Karen's and speaking to the manager always remind me of the first episode of Tru Blood, where Tara encounters one when working at a store ^_^ the woman had the hairstyle and everything. Tru Blood was ahead of its time!!! ^_^ they had a Karen even before they were a thing ^_^
If I were the first guy I would have said "I don't work here", but he had the strength and awesome power to act moronically amazing.
A similar thing happened to me a while back, me and my wife were shopping with our daughter she went with the kid to go look at clothes I went off to go do groceries, Karen walks up to me and we have a back and forth of her asking me where an item is and me saying idk and I don’t work here. Eventually my wife comes back and an argument ensued, it went in for a while and eventually Karen said we aren’t fit to be raising a child and we don’t deserve her, I restrain my wife from hitting her. Karen then GRABS OUR CHILD and tries to leave with my 4yo daughter, I once again lower my wife’s arms stopping her from giving Karen a shove, I whisper to my wife “she deserves more than a shove.” As I nail her flat in the face. As she falls backwards I catch my daughter and try to leave she tries to stop us and ends up calling the police trying to get us arrested. The cctv and multiple witnesses confirm that Karen struck first and I was merely defending myself and my family. The officer asks “would you like to press charges?” I respond “nah but id lien to do something else real quick, will you let me?” The officer replied “depends what it is.” I say “alright I’ll make it quick.” I turn around and strike the already bloody nose of Karen once more, she falls back and yells in pain, this time I both felt and heard a crush so maybe she had the right to yell in pain, you can clearly tell that everyone else in the room was trying to hold in in bud suddenly everyone burst out laughing. The officer said “I’ll let that one slide for now, she deserves it.” He walked away with Karen escorting her to his vehicle chuckling slightly, we continue shopping, a few weeks later I see that bitch again and get defensive around my kid and wife, she sees us and starts to walk over she says “yooouuu!!! You’re the one who fractured my nose!” I said “yeah and you better stay away from my family because trust me I can hit a lot harder.” She yelled “are you threatening me?!” She called the cops and we got so lucky we couldn’t believe it, it was the same officer as last time! The Karen smiled and said “I’ll have you arrested!” I then have the biggest grin on my face reaching ear to ear and say “are you’d ire about that?” Karen replies “yeah why?” Me “you might wanna look behind you” as the same officer flares at this woman, she looks terrified I begin to chuckle we tell him that Karen was harassing us and the cop says “would you like to do the honours?” As he smiles and steps to the side I respond gleefully “oooh I sure would” I crack my knuckles and strike! Karen once again falls backwards this time blood everywhere, and Karen’s face seems genuinely messed up. The officer pulls me off to the side and says “don’t you think that was I but too hard?” As I say “that was to make up for me hitting her so lightly the first time” he laughed she was sent to the hospital sir s out I had broken it in several places, I had to pay a fair amount for medical bills but it was worth it.
Sorry this was so long but I needed to explain it fully and properly, also for those of you who think I shouldn’t have don’t that and she didn’t deserve that just remember that she tried to steal my daughter and she totally did.

They think the police are personal servants who will always believe them and punish anybody they don’t like. It’s pathetic and sad that they think that way and then are shocked when the cops put cuffs on them after seeing the security footage.
Karen’s think they are High and mighty
They have "holyer then thou" attitude. It's annoying that they think they can scare people and threaten them and that their "high and mighty" and won't get trouble for what they done. Thank God that most do get a slap from karma.

Normally, I'm that guy that corrects people, but I saw you say English wasn't your first language elsewhere. Now it's just amusing that you totally nailed one comment and totally botched another.
First story: I see now. Karens are so absentmindedly having spiteful thoughts all the time that they've forgotten actual literacy. This guy is not just a down-to-earth comedian, but also a hero for having found yet another weapon for us to use against Karens. Oh, and this is also why I never go to the grocery store in anything that could be misinterpreted as work attire - I learned that lesson once when I was approached by another customer while wearing an ordinary yellow reflective jacket - fortunately they were decent people and just laughed it off when I told them.
Second story: Am I the only one who's so used to think that emergency dispatchers are all female that I automatically assumed that OP was a woman? If so, I'll have to apologize. Although I feel like OP should call out on having the colors of the police department's dispatcher uniforms changed - I think blue shirts and cargo pants should do the trick.
Third story: Post says two hours ago, rSlash said two years ago. It is confirmed that rSlash is a time traveler and has sent us this video from the future! On a serious note though, if I heard those exact words that old hag had coming out of her filthy mouth, I would look her dead in the eye and tell her "I only respect those who show me respect in return, and right now your hypocritical insinuation is far from respectful. Let go of me right now or I'll teach _you_ a lesson in respect!". And sure enough, someone who shows no sympathy over the tragic loss of life aren't worthy of the privilege of being alive, let alone live any form of good life. Whether karma will have its due with her, we can only hope.
Fourth story: Sounds like an r/EntitledPeople candidate, with a hint or r/NiceGirls. That girl sounds like all kinds of red flags, and I feel bad for anyone she tries to "persuade". Don't fret it OP, it just sounds like you became the target of contempt by people with sexist double-standards who still takes every women's words for granted, even if it's a lie - there's nothing you could've done to change that outcome, lest you wanted to play into her scheme.

That story about the nasty woman insulting a grieving Mother reminded me of an incident that happened about 40 years ago. A young couple had just buried their first born, I don't know why. But at the wake some old man said in a loud voice that it was probably for the best as the parents were too young, and too stupid to raise a kid. One of the couple's father's (don't know which) belted the guy in the mouth, breaking his jaw. He of course sued, but everyone in the crowd that day came to court, and swore he fell down, and nobody hit him. Karma is real, and she bites hard.

I have a story similar to the last one. About 20 years ago I went to the clinic for prenatal vitamins. It was really busy there and the line was outside the building. My boyfriend at the time had some local celebrity status. Well the 80+ year old woman was standing in front of me and my roommate. We were talking about my boyfriend and the old bitch turns around. She asked if I was dating (insert name here). I replied with "Yes I am and we are expecting our first child. I am actually here for a prenatal visit." My ex was born with a rather notable birth defect that ran in his family. Part of his fame came from his family having a long history in carnivals and side shows. So this woman gets a sneer on her face. "You are an evil and wicked woman for wanting to have a child like that. I hope your child dies in your womb because you are a cursed bitch". I was shocked, horrified, and instantly pissed. I did slap the woman in the face and told her to go to hell. My daughter is now 19 and is a model. She is perfect in every way. My ex is still one of my best friends and that old bat had no idea what she was talking about.
