Thanks for another great video Chet and Brody. It was interesting and informative. Your planters do a great job for you because you are great with your annual maintenance. My compliments to you for the complete maintenance you do on your planters each year. You make sure everything is adjusted correctly and all the settings are correct. Your planters are field ready that is for sure. I understand why you are keeping the one planter and having two corn planters will get your corn in the ground sooner and be able to do the black beans quicker. You said doing a 1,000 acres of black beans this year-wow!!!!!!!! Lots of maintenance with three planters this year. You are getting a good start on things. Brody is real good man on these planters. Plus he does the beans at planting time. Good man to have on the team. Thanks for everything Chet and sharing what is what on the planter maintenance. Was interesting. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
I have the exact same boost pack as you guys and might I say I'm very impressed with how well it works. Laughed when it showed up till I used it to boost our truck
If you weld up that slot worn into the brackets, you can get more life out of them and the spring tension will be the same as the ones not worn. Done many of them in the past.
Hope you all have a save, productive spring planting season. By the way, glad you changed the intro from that godawful, cold snow to warm sunshine! LOL!!!
7:47 the thing that pooped into my head about running the 2 corn planters, is: more of a chance to get it all into the ground in a timely manner so it's not so spaced out cuz a storm came in and sqwed the harvest dates by 3 weeks or watever... AND being able to get more specific with the scrips of what hybrids goin specifically where... can split the fields up nicely can't ya?? ...with the two machines?? something like that... just salt er seasoning on the meal kinda thing lol silver lineine? lol
Oh, No, not again! Brodie without his hat on…..It’s like Superman without his cape! Say it ain’t so! Love your vids. My brother-in-law goes to the Louisville Farm show every year. I told him to look you guys up and get me a hat. But he said he didn’t see you guys. Darn the luck.
We looked at $100,000 in upgrading our planter. So I suggested going 2 mph slower and not going into a field without it looking like carpet. We ended up with the best germination we've ever had. And the highest yield we've ever had. Non irrigated, 30k plant pop(4k drop), chicken manure and spring broadcast, 2 roundup passes, and a 74 day corn...on our wet ground on a dry year I got to see the monitor climb to 288 bu.
Should look up CFC closing wheen tails.... have the bearings casted right into the housing vs having to weld on them. Comes complete new with spring, handle and stop for $200! well worth the money.
Everytime I see the Buick it takes me back to when You and Dougo played the kool trick on Brody you are such great employers to help out your people so much, that just doesn't happen anymore in the world we live in today!
I been welder for long time when you got to weld anything thick your probably using 035 wire for your mig welder you should take a torch to heat the metal up then put the weld in there because you will get better pentation for your weld and will hold up longer long you dont have to get it cherry red but warm enough before it gets cherry red then wait at least 5 seconds before you weld it and it will hold up better. im saying for anything at least 1/2 half inc thick or more grind the weld out level it tack it heavy the heat it then weld it.
Trust me, with the acres you guys farm you won't regret having three planters. If your going to have extra capacity in anything on the farm it should be the planter in my opinion.
I think Brody wants a 'room' for his commute, whatever the car's brand or condition (short of leaking gas or oil) it's a living room - for 50 minutes a day.
No messes within the confines of the maintence building...or else you'll have to deal with Chet or maybe the missing Dougo. Why so many acres under corn, I heard on another channel that the corn market has bottomed out?
I must have missed the episode where larsons bought second planter. If there are two corn planters and a bean planter, what tractor is running the second corn planter other than the 9rx?
Heavy on corn this year? I heard some guys struggling to get operating loans for corn seed this year. You never know with those kinds of rumors, but it's interesting to hear someone is going heavy on corn.
great videos !!keep up the good work...one question, what kind of telephone headset do all you guys use ?ive went thru 3 in 3 years, just wondering what you use...thanks
I really like watching your videos but could you boys do me a favor and cover up your skin when welding. I worked for 39 years in heavy industry and lost a couple friends to skin cancer because they didn't cover up properly.
@@briancolshan1613 oh…. The way he was explaining it that they go from super busy to taking it easy on 1,000 acres but thanks for pointing out the obvious. The total acreage is roughly 6800.

seems like chet and brodi work together well and have fun doing it ya make me smile
Great crew. With a great shop. Makes a world of difference in maintaining a great environment
God bless all farmers 🙏🏻

Good morning. Great video Brody and Chet !! Love you guys
I watch other farming channel and they don’t keep up there equipment like Larson does.they amazing to watch compared to other channels
Didn't see any bailing wire on that planter , it's good for another season. Have a glorious Day.
It's BALING wire, and my autocorrect doesn't like it, either! 😂
Bless Doug , wish I was as young!!!!
Well done guys love watching your channel from Australia

Looking at those planters, I'm glad we only have a 7 row. 😅
Seven row ???
@@tombernatz3027 Yes, 6 row with one plus in the middle that you can lift up. We use it with narrow rows for canola and soybean.
Keep up the great work Chet

Larsons need to convince Case to give them a Stiger row track demo for spring. I've never seen anyone review one yet.
Along way from an Oliver 880 and a John Deere 494. One hydraulic hose and the marker chains.
We had 2 880's at one time. Like a Cadillac.
great video guys. Great job
Great video.. still better than TV!
the days of 2-4 hoses and 1 electric plug is long gone!!!!!

Good Morning Larson Farms
Anyone else notice Chet’s little head nod at the end of the videos now lol I can’t help but laugh when he does it 😂
You guys seem to have a lot of tractors these days, I remember a few years back when you were struggling to find a one to use.
Build mud flaps over that wheel to keep the mud from getting in there be safe god bless
another great video!
I would just cut a steel plate and some long bolts on each side to clamp the tank mount to the bar
Yes and that is the way it should have been in the first place!
Hate to break the news, Brody, but your Buick is front wheel drive. Weight in the trunk doesn't help except more weight is worse mpg.
😂😂😂
For that broke piece for the fertilizer tank. Maybe run a heavy spring like you’d attach a truck box so it would have a little flex.
Or,, weld a bigger base plate to the main frame.?
Hey, if ya need more help, I would be glad to come and work for you guys.
Keep up the good work!

as always great stuff be safe god bless
The Buick Lacrosse and Sabre are two of the best vehicles Buick has come out with, all the old people drive them, kind of.
Great video. What type of production will you see out of the new high speed planter? What type of improvement is that over the old corn planter?
'Doug junior' would have to do a rock picker apprenticeship. :)
Those holes that are really worn is usually what breaks the springs. Just take some nickel welding rod and weld the holes up and good to go!
I was surprised that after taking them all off that they did not do that or do what I did and get replacements from Shoup.
Is the 9530T getting saddle tanks for fertilizer or just the small tank on the planter??
Brodi somehow reminds me of Chandler from friends. Planting is going to be fun.
Should have offered the dually to Brody to take those tubes there! Bet he would have jumped on that
Snow is melting finally my back yard looks like a pond rn lol
No DougO', Eric, or Toby. I'm guessing all 3 of them went fishing. 🤣

We will have to take it apart again next year or we could fix it right lol
chet or doug pleaase explain in the video on 13:18 why theres a custom offsets sticker on the planter frame?!?

Picked a tough season to be heavy on corn acres!
So is it just me or do they need to put Brody‘s hoodie that he’s wearing on their Store? Great video of teamwork keep it up.
Are the bearing/shims for the tail wheels a kit from deer or what? If so, do you have any part numbers? Great video by the way!!

$4 corn right now i think a lot of the farmers here will be going heavy on beans this year.
We are in west tn no corn just beans and cotton
If you are in a good corn growing area 200+ typical. Beans still don’t pencil as well as corn, fringe areas will be down acres I’m sure tho
Love it
