@Let Your L⚡️GHT Forever Shine ❤️ yes, this. But lyrically a lot of people have a hard time getting around their overall strangeness and poetry that’s mixed with all that, and then there’s Jim’s overall performance vibe. Usually the sort people scared to be introspective and existential think of them as being overrated or bad.

Younger sister and I saw The Doors at Cal state - east LA in 1967. We sat 4th row center. To see Jim leap off the platform and land writhing and convulsing on the floor was something else. He did know something we didn't know. He studied crowd control. Little sis was 12 and I was 15! A great concert and a very lasting impression.

You hit it right on the head, man! He really seemed to be above it all. He walked on stage like he knew he was in charge. The King, the performer, the Star. He knew it. The man was also a fine poet and wrote most of the songs. You can (and should) get the 2 last books of his poetry, published after his death : "Wilderness" and "The American Night". Some songs are included .

It's the best live concert footage of The Doors we have. They had plans for this one but the venue and the gods went against them. They had planned to sound blast the Bowl with all those stacked Marshall's but the brass told them on the day if it went over a certain volume they would pull the plug....so they only used a handful of them. Then they got done on the lighting. And Krieger's guitar volume was stuck on 2 for the entire gig. And Jim dropped acid backstage.....his f***** you, I guess. All in all it is a pretty intense gig. A 7/10. A 9/10 if one is tripping though. 😂

Technically he was 24 at this time but that's just semantics.

that's probably my favorite song of the Doors. Since saw it live, did you notice there's no bass player? Manzarek plays bass with his left hand on the organ

Yes. At another concert (NY?), at the same point, audience yelling, Jim yelled "Shut up" ... Great. Note: I was at this Hollywood Bowl concert. Epic.

@@mikem597 Jim was great at shutting down hecklers from what I've heard. "Hey you! Yeah, you! You taken a good sh*t lately?"

You got it bro. the best vid out there of 'the way it was'. (Blessed to see them in 1970 in Detroit), same show but he was really, really DRUNK, you can imagine a F**K-UP Morrison? Crazy Wild.

Heck yeah I got my wish!!! Thanks Pope I knew you would love it --- Jim is sassy --- my next recommendation is Waiting For The Sun -- I cannot sing but if I had to to save my life I can sing this one -- and sound good doing it too

Just subbed❤ Jim Morrison was so charazmatic it's hard to understand. His ability to capture you in the music is amazing. Ray on the keys is just a trip in its self and then Jim. Wow! Peace frog is really funky if you haven't reacted to it yet
