One of the things I appreciate the most about this show is that the parents know about her saving the world constantly. But here, not only are they aware of it but they love it and take it in stride, which leads to a lot of hilarious moments between them and Kim.

Dr. Drakken is still my favourite character of all time. That character, and trying to emulate his voice were the reasons I got into voice acting. This show will always be special to me for that. I even got to meet Drakken's voice actor last year, and shook his hand! That was a good day.

It actually would make sense in this context: "I purchased the DVDs to legally own the series, and then I download the episodes for the sake of using the footage".
Unfortunately Disney does not like to release its entire library on home videos. So my guess is the DVDS did not have all the episodes. And it's gonna take a while for them to even consider releasing on DVD. If at all.

Honestly, Kim and Ron's relationship is so unrealistic. Has the shy, dweeby, squeeky voiced social outcast ever gotten the good-looking cheerleader chick in real life? As in, even once in human history ? I know it's fiction and kid's show fiction at that, and it's nice to be able to go full ham with romance in fiction. But I just can't get behind those kinda "auw look two people on different positions on a social hiarachy are in a loving relationship"-relationships. I just always keep being reminded that in real life their relationship either wouldn't have happened or would've turned into a dumpster fire after only a couple of days. And yes, I know that in the show Kim is presented as a bit of a social outcast, but the fact that they even had to do that to not make her friendship & romance with Ron feel off just proves the point even more. The point is that her character is written to be like your typical "popular pretty girl", even though she isn't for some reason.
@@jamesg6660 But Ron and Kim were established best friends. It's not like they had no idea who each other were and randomly got together, they've been close for a while and the show clearly represents that as the seasons go on, they develop more feelings for each other the more they go through. I don't think it's that unrealistic. I'm not sure if the show implies Ron isn't good-looking, just nerdy, and Kim clearly genuinely likes him.
@@sneksneksnek0000 I still think it's unrealistic, to be honest. Friendship and love are entirely different things, and while I think social hierarchy and stuff like one's level of aesthetic quality has no affect on friendship it _absolutely_ has an affect on romance. Ron ain't exactly designed in a way where it seems like he's meant to be good-looking, as well. He's not flat out ugly or anything, but he very obviously looks dweeby & not the stereotypically handsome type.
It makes my blood boil when they have those "will they, won't they?" romance plots that get resolved at the VERY END of the show. It's unhealthy and manipulative.
James Moyner you’re actually right. While I remember Ron had a tech-savvy girlfriend that was the thing for a couple of episodes. While Kim had was mainly chasing this one guy for season 1 and never really seriously trying to be with another guys until the movie. That and the “mood swing” episode where Ron “dumped Kim
Kim Possible is my favorite animated Disney show. Back when I was in elementary school and middle school I used to watch it almost every morning before my bus picked me up and I'd have a bowl of cereal. Good memories :)
Yep. I also didn't grow up with it, and only watched it later, in my mid-20s. And I really liked it. One of the really good things to come out of Disney Channel.
This was a childhood favorite show! I started rewatching it when I first got Disney + and it's still good, even after so many years. I still emember Kim Possible, and American Drago: Jake Long, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Danny Phantom, and Scooby-Doo (both reruns of the original and the newest iteration at the time, What's New, Scooby-Doo?)!
Not gonna lie, my dad was the one who liked this show when I was little. I liked it as much as any kid liked colorful Saturday morning cartoons, but this was his (a 30-something-year-old man) favorite airing cartoon at the time. Heck, he even had it as a theme for one of his birthdays. We got him the cake that had the make-up kit shaped like Kim's face, and he put it with his MLB memorabilia (a high honor I assure you).
@@benwasserman8223 As a fan of Hogan's Heroes, which Recess was essentially an animated parody of, I hope he covers the similar traits between both shows.
I loved that the shipping was never too heavy. As a girl growing up with this show it always felt very natural to me how Ron and Kim interacted. Nothing's worse than having a pov character constantly pine about someone so much that it describes their character. This was present in many kids shows of the time (Especially Nickelodeon now that I think about it) and also today (one of my major complaints about S1 of Gravity Falls tbh) Kim is an independent, strong female character and contrasting her with a desperate male counterpart would have send all the wrong messages imo. So yeah. Ron being super chill around the ladies, big props to that.
To this day I have the Kimunicator jingle set as the message alert on my phone. This was probably my most loved Disney Channel show in those pre-teen/early teen years and I still get the urge to watch episodes or listen to songs from it on occasion.
This will always be my favorite disney channel show!! Favorite episodes...oh there are so many, "go team go, present, past and future episode arc, the graduation two parter series ending"

I was in the perfect age range when this show came out. And this is still one of my favorite female lead protagonist cartoons out there.
Kim is awesome.
this was definitely my favorite TV show as a kid until I watched Avatar / gravity falls but it still holds a special place in my heart as one of Disney channel's best animated shows of the early 2000s
Dr. Drakken is still my favourite character of all time. That character, and trying to emulate his voice were the reasons I got into voice acting. This show will always be special to me for that. I even got to meet Drakken's voice actor last year, and shook his hand! That was a good day.
John is really funny. My friend met him and told John about a funny plot idea and John said it's definitely a Drakken scheme.
I've waited years for this. Thank you for finally giving Kim the spotlight, Doug!
I swear, this is definitely the series where you hoped and prayed Ron would hook up with Kim and destroy the Friend-Zone completely.
After they finally hooked up, I have to admit, even I still didn't see it coming... lol.
BOTH This and Gravity Falls I've been re-watching on the Disney+ and I've been loving it
Kim possible was such a great show I'm glad I grew up watching this show.
"Stoppable how did you get into my house?".
Classic :D
That part was awesome, all we thought was him just pacing about in his own house but then the teacher showed up with that line. Hi-la-rious
Me: (hears Kim Possible jingle somewhere)
Also me: *WHAT’S THE SITCH?*
Lil_A_20 2.0 Gosh, one of my coworkers had the KP jingle as her ringtone, and the first time it went off, my attention was instantly split from looking for customers to locating the source of the ringtone, like a dog hearing the word 'treat' or something XD
I had to get it as my ringtone, too
"So what's the Sitch"
- Kim Possible
Call me, beep me, if you wanna reach me!🙌
His name is Stitch
Kim Possible is my all time favorite animated Disney show
Mine too.
I've seen this show as a kid and I loved it. Still do.
"The first episode after they hook up" you and I remember Kim Possible very differently
Just got into this show this year and absolutely loved it. Amazing comedy, great animation/action, memorable characters and loads of variety in terms of plot-lines. Shame I didn't grow up with it, but this only proves that it's equally great for both kids and adults.
One of my favourite Tv Series growing up 😁 Still love Kim Possible to this day along with the film 'So The Drama', re-watched this series countless times ❤
i didn’t watch it for years, and then disney + came around, and i watched the whole series, plus the the m two animated movies, and i realized i still remembered the theme song!!!
Doug contradicted himself when he said "I got all the DVDs, downloaded all the episodes."
Yes, I noticed that as well, I was waiting to see if anyone else would!😆
SirTyJensen not all the show is on DVD
It actually would make sense in this context:
"I purchased the DVDs to legally own the series, and then I download the episodes for the sake of using the footage".
Unfortunately Disney does not like to release its entire library on home videos. So my guess is the DVDS did not have all the episodes. And it's gonna take a while for them to even consider releasing on DVD. If at all.
I'm 50% sure all the KP episodes can be legally downloaded by purchasing them via iTunes or Amazon.
I always loved when ron does martial arts.
On one hand it seems forced, cliche and contrived letting the incompetent character be great at something they clearly shouldn't be great at. But it just works with ron so well.
It was always nice seeing him doing it whenever he did and he actually did look bad ass.
It's like seeing chuckie from rugrats stand up to angelica. From rugrats to all grown up he only did so occasionally but, like with ron, it strangely just worked.
In both cases it felt right.
I love this show
This was such a great series. I love it
It really makes me laugh when I think about how if this show was released for the very first time today with no variations whatsoever it would get torn apart by the internet
i'm just gonna leave this here: Phineas and Ferb
Yeah I really want him to review it!
The movie didn't really hooked him on watching this show, unlike with KP's movies.
@@nicr-ff9hc well he's just missing out. Better Phineas and Ferb than Star Vs The Forces of Evil.
A worthy successor to Kim Possible.
@@logannottheonefrommarvel9917 He already said he likes SVTFOE so too bad for you. :) I think Phineas and Ferb is kinda lame though; it's like the creator just wants to write songs instead of tell stories. Phineas himself is boring af. The only good part of the show is Doof and Perry.
KP came out just when everybody need a hero they could look up to the most. I know it helped me growing up. I was just entering high school the year before it came on and 9/11 happened that year. Everybody was still scared and unsure. KP was confident and brave. She was the hero we needed to get us through that time.
Kim and Ron have a better relationship than Star and Marco
@@sneksneksnek0000 still their relationship is better than Star and Marco's relationship
It's unhealthy and manipulative.
i friggen love this show and i love ron and kim! this was a severely underrated show
So many fond memories of my dad and I watching this show.
*Kim Possible:* _SO WHAT'S THE SITCH?!_
*Teenagers in the 2010s:* OKAY BOOMER!
One of the greatest in the history of Disney. I was always pumped for a new episode every week.
I don't know why but cartoon show villans always seem to be my favourite characters.
Kim had such an awesome rogues gallery. I loved them all:Drakken,Shego,Monkey Fist, the Seniors,Duff,Motor Ed..
One thing you realize after you grew up is the Kim was the one who was friend-zoned by Ron!
A very good point.
@@jennaforest827 Don't forget both one of the cheerleaders and the girl who does martial arts. Damn Ron was a swinger
This was one of the Fave 3 Disney series for me alongside Gravity Falls and Lilo & Stitch
Kim Possible is my favorite animated Disney show. Back when I was in elementary school and middle school I used to watch it almost every morning before my bus picked me up and I'd have a bowl of cereal. Good memories :)
Well, my math homework isn’t getting done today.
Deuce Moncura
Ya see, once you watch one review, you can’t stop.
@@Chad_Eldridge
for that, you've gotta be extra smart. meaning you set the channel intro as your alarm to wake up.
@@Chad_Eldridge I'm not sure if this is genuine or not, but it does go too far.
Kim/Ron is one of those ships I shipped even before know what a ship is
I feel that. Back when shipping was contained in message boards.
Happy 20th Anniversary, Kim Possible!
I would definently consider Kim Possible to be one of the best shows Disney ever made, it even had Smash Mouth in it lol
Yep. I also didn't grow up with it, and only watched it later, in my mid-20s. And I really liked it. One of the really good things to come out of Disney Channel.
"Sharpen your Breasts" LOL
This was a childhood favorite show! I started rewatching it when I first got Disney + and it's still good, even after so many years. I still emember Kim Possible, and American Drago: Jake Long, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Danny Phantom, and Scooby-Doo (both reruns of the original and the newest iteration at the time, What's New, Scooby-Doo?)!
Do a review of Lilo & Stitch: The Series.
He wasn't such a fan of the movies that opened and finished the show, so I don't think he would.
This was LITERALLY the BEST show on Disney Channel. Prove me wrong!
I'm afraid I can only prove you right!
Gargoyles existed.
One of my favorite shows as a child! I still love watching this!
Such a wild but fun show Ioved watching this as a kid
Not gonna lie, my dad was the one who liked this show when I was little. I liked it as much as any kid liked colorful Saturday morning cartoons, but this was his (a 30-something-year-old man) favorite airing cartoon at the time. Heck, he even had it as a theme for one of his birthdays. We got him the cake that had the make-up kit shaped like Kim's face, and he put it with his MLB memorabilia (a high honor I assure you).
Kim Possible was one of my childhood shows so glad I have Disney+ to re-watch it
Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable is in my opinion the best Cartoon duo ever. Well actually Fin and Jake are up there...
I've been waiting so long for this video 😭 Kim possible was my favorite show as a kid
Ron actually steps up in the last episode. Booyah.
Kamen Rider Kiva?
@@michaelrhett4958 The very same.
Zydrake Shogun Cool
This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I went back every now and then to it, I still loved it.
Emotion Sickness and Stop Team Go the best of the whole series.
I love the episodes with Evil Ron
Solid review, man.
I kinda grew up with this show. As in, I was in high school when it came out, but I still enjoyed watching it.
Though not a masterpiece like Gravity Falls or Batman: The Animated Series, this show was fun. Though the finale was incredible.
Now we just need Doug to cover Recess. Now that was a smarter show than it had any right to be
Miranda Barden you should watch KP. It’s on Disney+. This show actually had great writing.
Do you really think that gravity falls is a masterpiece
JoshEntertainment yes
@@benwasserman8223 As a fan of Hogan's Heroes, which Recess was essentially an animated parody of, I hope he covers the similar traits between both shows.
I loved that the shipping was never too heavy. As a girl growing up with this show it always felt very natural to me how Ron and Kim interacted.
Nothing's worse than having a pov character constantly pine about someone so much that it describes their character. This was present in many kids shows of the time (Especially Nickelodeon now that I think about it) and also today (one of my major complaints about S1 of Gravity Falls tbh)
Kim is an independent, strong female character and contrasting her with a desperate male counterpart would have send all the wrong messages imo. So yeah. Ron being super chill around the ladies, big props to that.
"Emotion Sickness" was the best episode!
My childhood 😍
I loved this show so much
Dakken and Shego are my favorite characters
To this day I have the Kimunicator jingle set as the message alert on my phone.
This was probably my most loved Disney Channel show in those pre-teen/early teen years and I still get the urge to watch episodes or listen to songs from it on occasion.
I really would love for Doug to sit down and watch Hey Arnold, which is a really well done series.
I enjoyed this show growing up especially the second movie.
I just bought the first 2 seasons on dvd this show is gold
I like that they actually change clothes
Drakken,&,Shego Are Always Gonna be my Favorite Villainous Duo While Senor Sr.,&,Senor Sr. Jr. Are Always Gonna be my Favorite Villainous Duo Entrance
TIME for Recess to get a DisneyCember episode.
This will always be my favorite disney channel show!! Favorite episodes...oh there are so many, "go team go, present, past and future episode arc, the graduation two parter series ending"
happy 20th anniversary kim possible!!! :3
I absolutely love that Christmas special of Kim Possible where In The End Dragon says oh don't get me wrong after the holidays I'm going to unleash your inner freak on all of you, haha I laughed so hard
Time to rewatch Kim Possible!!
defiantly one of my favorite cartoon shows and I think its up there as some of the all time great cartoons.
Kim Possible was awesome
