      Очень утомительно смотреть. И классическая музыка совсем к видео не подходит. Возможно, что вещь добротная, но зачем так сложно? По-моему моему много лишней работы, без которой можно обойтись. Хотя она показывает мастерство автора, но утомляет смотреть.

      Thank you so much. I dont think i would take on such a challenging project anyways, I see why they're so expensive. At best, I could make the structure out of Wood and cover it with shapecrete, I dont know. So could this type of lantern have functioning light? It doesnt look like it.

    • @pauliascau
      @pauliascau  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it can be function, but the client wanted to be simple without lightbulb :) ... you can make it electrical, or use a candle, or even an oil lamp inside the light box

    What did you put on the concrete surface at 06:13 ?
    Why did you paint the mold in black?

    • @woreoutdavinciconstruction4060
      @woreoutdavinciconstruction4060 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      because he had black laying around the shop and was hoping paint would make the concrete not stick to the form

    • @woreoutdavinciconstruction4060
      @woreoutdavinciconstruction4060 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      he added a thin layer of concrete at 6:13 to fill in the air bubble holes

    • @pauliascau
      @pauliascau  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I made a cement slury (cement & water) to cover the imperfections, And I paint the mold so the concrete wont stck to the plaster mold

    Hello Mr. Paul Iascau's studi, his work is wonderful, excellent workmanship, very capricious. Could pass the name of the materials used. I see many youtibers use raw cement, your dough is very clear and looks lighter, thinner, which seems to give this finish smoother.Different.
    Gratitude for passing your knowledge.

    Hey Paul, great video. On parts like the lantern body you should try using glass fibre in the concrete. Easy to work with and strong. Any that is showing on the surface can be sanded off or even burnt.

    • @pauliascau
      @pauliascau  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I used PP fiber from Sika, it does the same thing

    Very impressive. Like the idea of using styrofoam. I'm going to try a smaller , simple version.. first time... what do you use for a release agent? can I use fiber reinforced quickcrete for this project? Thanks for posting..

    What does the light come from in these lanterns? What fuel?

    • @pauliascau
      @pauliascau  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use light bulb, but you can use different fuels because it is concrete, and fire its not a problem

    Hi Paul,
    I'm considering making the same except in wood and then spraying with a very rough concrete type mixture. Any thoughts on this ?
    David.

    • @pauliascau
      @pauliascau  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +dseto8888 Hi David,
      Yes, I think it's a good idea, you can use some textured paint like anti stone chip paint that it's used on cars and then spray 2 or 3 coats of flat paint to really protect the wood from elements. And I will like to see some photo's of the lamp when it's finished :). You can send me the photo's on pauldanidp@gmail.com, I will realy appreciate this.
      Paul.

    I have learn't some interesting techniques here, especially the ingenious use of foam.
    If I tried making one it would not be as good as yours as I am lazy and less skilful so I would try to take as many shortcuts as possible. I would try using proprietary plant trays and other objects as moulds. I would not have used so much rebar, maybe some more aggregate and possibly steel fibres and thinner steel wire. As you are using glass fibres, my feeling is that it probably does not need the rebar. Did you try without and find that they break or was it more of an instinct to make it as strong as possible? I can see that your metal and fibreglass molds look very reuseable but wonder if your chipboard molds last very long?.

    • @pauliascau
      @pauliascau  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wanted to be sure it wont crack that's why I went overkill with the steel :)...actually the chipboard molds are very good :)
