    Water ingress nsr is very common on these. First thing to fail is normally Bluetooth. 👍

    It's it possible to unplug the rear seat entertaining module so the DVD can't be uncommunicated but just have power and grounds to the DVD.. and try the thermoimage again . I hope I'm making sense

    My thoughts would be there is a problem with the DVD eject plate. It may not be fully engaged or disengaged. Sort of like when a wiper blade does not return to its park position. Just a thought I may be wrong. Great video as always.

    So what did you end up finding in the end?

      There is a fiber optic cable, a s-video style cable and 2 wire (B+ and Ground) connector going to the module.
      I have unplugged the fiber and svideo cable with no change in current. I have yet to finish reading all the service information, but my suspicion is that there is a turn on signal accross the fiber as most of all of those models back there are connected via fiber.
      But i need to either determine if its being told to wake up, but no go back to sleep, or if its internally just shorted on. The lack of service info makes it difficult. Most likely i will not find my answer in the aervice info and end up pulling the module apart and condemning an internal component. Thus condemning the module. I know it seems like too much, but I do not call for a part until ive proven the issue.
      But monday ill be on it first thing. Ive got to get answers as im off to DC monday evening. And the customer will need the vehicle back.

      Nope, customer opted to just leave the unit disconnected.....

    It's dumb but just close the door on the DVD changer and it will stop draining it's crazy

      That was the only fix that the customer approved, I pulled the B+ and Ground connector and left the communication lines connected. All is well know.
