I am probably about ten years older than you and I have been stitching a long time so I really enjoy it when you show the "old pieces." It brings back good memories of being young and having great eyesight! The first piece I ever stitched was on 14 count white Aida back in the days of "country" with geese and baskets. I just stitched it willy-nilly and sure enough, when I got to the end, the stitches did not match up and the goose looked like he had a broken leg!

Seems like everyone is stitching Alice Bierton, I got my 56 cream linen at Hobby House Needleworks plus I am using the 100/3 color 499 which she carries as well. She does have the Cafe au lait in 56 count and also Fire Poppies now has 56 count too. Laura that bag is beautiful and already checking it out, would be a great Mother’s Day present. That was too funny with the “O” hat. I had to laugh for when I used to travel for work, the boys would always ask for me to bring a shirt home from a college but they had specific ones that I couldn’t bring home and the “O” was among those. Oh oh oh I am from Newton Falls Ohio. North East Ohio 60 miles south of Cleveland. In 1962 I was in the marching Band. I played Trumpet and I was the field Marshall . Anyway our field trip for the year was to go to Ohio State's home coming Game. We got to go to the field house while they warmed up. Then we also got to March with the band from the field house to the field. Wow they were an all boy band! ! They are high steppers !!!!!! Their steps were as high as my knees. That was so much fun. I ended up going to Youngstown State University - Dana School of Music. I was still playing trumpet but I was the only voice major in the band. I Really took a beating but I loved every minute of it. Then I moved to Michigan After I got married. I lived there for 38 Years. I love you two. I had no idea Ohio State was such a deal. ( I am now in Las Vegas) ❤️🌺

Glad you’ve got your mojo back Brenda. I’m hoping to get nerve pain under control so I can stitch again. I want to find a Hardwick Manor hoop to put in a lap or floor stand which I’ve been advised to get so I don’t have to hunch over my work which is aggravating the pinched nerve in my neck. I do the door and windows first, then house and roof last. Isn’t it wild all the ways stitching can be done! Truly just doing what you love! I may have laughed loud enough to have my son ask if I was ok while watching Laura tease you with that hat 😂😂😂 I’m a big, big Dallas Cowboys fan, since I was 10. It’s a real stressful situation over the last 10 years but I still love them. Back in the 70’s and 80’s solidified my absolute dislike of the Steelers and Eagles. You can not bring that around me. 😬 I super love all the samplers, especially the small ones! and the red ones!! Brenda, I agree about ‘the team down south.’ I moved to Cleveland in 1972 from Oklahoma. Boomer Sooner. I got teased relentlessly. I grew to really dislike that team in a big part because of Woody Hayes. I was over the moon when Baker planted the OU flag in their field. The year before they had beat us in Oklahoma and brought their band out on the field after the game to run it in our faces. I ALWAYS cheer for Michigan. Than y’all for many hours of enjoyment watching your videos. Y’all helped see me through breast cancer last year. Now I have macular degeneration in both eyes. I have to close my left eye to see at all. I pray God let’s me keep what little sight I have left.

I loved everything you show and talk about. I find your attitudes very encouraging, ie: freedom to have stash, freedom to have changed taste, freedom to splurge on silk or enjoy DMC. Also, Laura, I feel the same way you do on stitching 1/1. It’s the Worst. The only situation I can see it working is if I was in jail for life with nothing else to do.

I so enjoyed seeing your video. I lost internet on Feb. 14 and it was restored today. A large limb down across my drive way and took out the cable. Laura, I am stitching Mary 395 - 1869. It was going to be a Jan 1 start but I didn’t get the fabric until late Feb. It will take me years to get it done but it will be great to see your progress if you decide to stitch it.

I recently made a stand up of sn old stitching and am going to use the 2 companion pieces on a project bag if I get the nerve up to do it. Lol. My first professionally framed was amid amish life as 1 piece and it too was over 100$. Gulp. Lol

I can see again.lol have done all the window frames and crossing on roof in red house sampler. So 3 to 4 month wait to see ophthalmologist then not sure till surgery. But at least I know

I also have Esther Iddison, but I've decided I'm only going to stitch the top part with the house - it's so pretty and that way you don't have to do any over one. Also, I've just seen some "girl patterns" by Mill on the Floss Samplers - I'm not sure if Laura has seen any of those. I think it would be fun to see some of Laura's finished projects. Could she bring a couple to show when you show your old finishes? I'm already looking forward to your next video!

I am probably about ten years older than you and I have been stitching a long time so I really enjoy it when you show the "old pieces." It brings back good memories of being young and having great eyesight! The first piece I ever stitched was on 14 count white Aida back in the days of "country" with geese and baskets. I just stitched it willy-nilly and sure enough, when I got to the end, the stitches did not match up and the goose looked like he had a broken leg!

Seems like everyone is stitching Alice Bierton, I got my 56 cream linen at Hobby House Needleworks plus I am using the 100/3 color 499 which she carries as well. She does have the Cafe au lait in 56 count and also Fire Poppies now has 56 count too. Laura that bag is beautiful and already checking it out, would be a great Mother’s Day present. That was too funny with the “O” hat. I had to laugh for when I used to travel for work, the boys would always ask for me to bring a shirt home from a college but they had specific ones that I couldn’t bring home and the “O” was among those. Oh oh oh I am from Newton Falls Ohio. North East Ohio 60 miles south of
Cleveland. In 1962 I was in the marching
Band. I played Trumpet and I was the field Marshall . Anyway our field trip for the year was to go to Ohio State's home coming
Game. We got to go to the field house while they warmed up. Then we also got to
March with the band from the field house to the field. Wow they were an all boy band! ! They are high steppers !!!!!! Their steps were as high as my knees. That was so much fun. I ended up going to Youngstown State University - Dana School of Music. I was still playing trumpet but
I was the only voice major in the band. I
Really took a beating but I loved every minute of it. Then I moved to Michigan
After I got married. I lived there for 38
Years. I love you two. I had no idea Ohio State was such a deal. ( I am now in Las Vegas) ❤️🌺

Glad you’ve got your mojo back Brenda. I’m hoping to get nerve pain under control so I can stitch again. I want to find a Hardwick Manor hoop to put in a lap or floor stand which I’ve been advised to get so I don’t have to hunch over my work which is aggravating the pinched nerve in my neck. It’s a real stressful situation over the last 10 years but I still love them. Back in the 70’s and 80’s solidified my absolute dislike of the Steelers and Eagles. You can not bring that around me. 😬

Brenda, I agree about ‘the team down south.’ I moved to Cleveland in 1972 from Oklahoma. Boomer Sooner. I got teased relentlessly. I grew to really dislike that team in a big part because of Woody Hayes. I was over the moon when Baker planted the OU flag in their field. The year before they had beat us in Oklahoma and brought their band out on the field after the game to run it in our faces. I ALWAYS cheer for Michigan. Than y’all for many hours of enjoyment watching your videos. Y’all helped see me through breast cancer last year. Now I have macular degeneration in both eyes. I have to close my left eye to see at all. I pray God let’s me keep what little sight I have left.

I loved everything you show and talk about. I find your attitudes very encouraging, ie: freedom to have stash, freedom to have changed taste, freedom to splurge on silk or enjoy DMC. Also, Laura, I feel the same way you do on stitching 1/1. It’s the Worst. The only situation I can see it working is if I was in jail for life with nothing else to do.

I so enjoyed seeing your video. I lost internet on Feb. 14 and it was restored today. A large limb down across my drive way and took out the cable. Laura, I am stitching Mary 395 - 1869. It was going to be a Jan 1 start but I didn’t get the fabric until late Feb. It will take me years to get it done but it will be great to see your progress if you decide to stitch it.

I am at present having issues with 18 ct making them not look too thick. I go to eye dr march 1st so let’s hope we can figure what is up. Can’t not stitch! Been stitching since 83! Oh loved seeing the storage box items, that will be sooo cool. I recently made a stand up of sn old stitching and am going to use the 2 companion pieces on a project bag if I get the nerve up to do it. Lol. My first professionally framed was amid amish life as 1 piece and it too was over 100$. Gulp. Lol

@@brendaandtheserialstarter2410 thanks, well hAve a dense cataract on my left eye snd start of right eye. So I ordered then head magnifying light that Deb and Liz speak about on their last video. I can see again.lol have done all the window frames and crossing on roof in red house sampler. So 3 to 4 month wait to see ophthalmologist then not sure till surgery. But at least I know

Another great video - I'm so glad Brenda got her stitching mojo back! I also have Esther Iddison, but I've decided I'm only going to stitch the top part with the house - it's so pretty and that way you don't have to do any over one. Also, I've just seen some "girl patterns" by Mill on the Floss Samplers - I'm not sure if Laura has seen any of those. I think it would be fun to see some of Laura's finished projects. Could she bring a couple to show when you show your old finishes? I'm already looking forward to your next video!
