I think that's why they work so well- Simon and Paul are obviously versatile, trained musicians, Perrin is doing something unique, coming from the hip-hop/experimental production background, and Nai is a self-taught guitarist with the most epic voice. The back-up vocalists are an awesome addition too- Really looking forward to their LP

Yesterday I've seen an interview with the succesful "Witcher" book series author "Andrzej Sapkowski", and when asked how he reacted to the game developers changing and twisting his original stories into the game series; Andrzej responded that he: "Never had time to play any game and that he will never dedicate time for it", yet by the approach of the game developers when they offered him the deal he said that he trusted them with his eyes closed since their approach to the game and how they should make it was perfect in his eyes. Just as the marvelous witcher series was and the twisted and bent video-game version of it, COVERS CAN WORK, and Hiatus are fucking brilliant (_In my opinion_).
I love the Gorillaz but the original version of Dare is basically talking over a dance track. It's fun, the production is great, but hardly groundbreaking stuff there. This version has way more complexity, especially with Nai Palm's insane jazz voice (one of the more difficult singing styles).
