Jesus was referring to eating *'bread'* with unwashed hands. The pharisees had _added_ *their own traditions* to the law. Their _man-made tradition_ said you had to wash your hands (and even body) according to 'their' tradition before even eating something clean or it would defile you. Your body will cleanse any dirt off of 'food' that goes into your body...you do not need to follow some man-made ritual before you eat 'food'. The key word here is 'food'. *'Food'* is defined for us by God in Leviticus 11. Jesus was saying 'food' is clean even if you don't follow the pharisees made up tradition. Jesus *_was not_* saying that unclean animals were now _also food._ *Food* was what was being discussed. *Food* would be cleansed by the body and the dirt would go out into the dross/toilette. *Food* _is what God defined for us in Leviticus 11._ Blessings

      Leviticus 11:46
"This is the law of the animals and the birds and every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the earth, 'to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, and between the animal that may be eaten and the animal that may not be eaten.' "
      Matthew 15:16-20
"So Jesus said, "Are you also still without understanding? Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. *For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man,* _but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man."_
Jesus was not opposing God's law. If he did then he is not the messiah. The anti-christ is called *'the man of LAWLESSNESS'.* Jesus _was not_ lawless, he kept God's laws perfectly and did not tell others to break God's law. You need to think about this carefully as the Devil is out to convince us that it's o.k. to disobey God's law. Jesus said he will tell believers to depart _because they practice 'lawlessness'._

This is just one interpretation of the dietary Law given to the Children of Israel. The main reason for the prohibition for thar period was HEALTH reasons because pigs were contaminated because pigs were allowed to eat anything including corpses, unlike today the feeding of pigs is regulated. In the book of Acts, Jesus revealed to Peter that God had made all things clean by His Son's atonement & sacrifice.

Isaiah the *verified prophet of God* talks about the Messiah coming in flaming fire (Jesus' second coming). The Messiah (Jesus/God) is prophesied to destroy believers (those setting themselves apart from the world and putting away sin) *_who are also_* eating unclean animals. God's word does not change. Jesus' himself said NOT ONE word will pass from EITHER the Law or the Prophets until heaven and earth pass away. So both Jesus and Isaiah say not to eat these unclean animals. It is written.

Yes. Evil in our hearts is what defiles us. This includes anything that would have us go against what God has said (which includes eating unclean animals). In the passage the disciples weren't even eating animals of any kind, they were eating 'bread' _without first_ washing their hands _according to pharisee man-made traditions._ The pharisees considered someone defiled for eating 'food' (defined for us in Leviticus 11) without first doing a ritual _they made up._ Jesus was saying *FOOD* (in this case bread) was not going to defile you if you ate it without first doing a man-made ritual of hand washing. The body will cleanse the *food* and the dirt will go out into the dross/toilette. Jesus was specifically talking about *food* that had already been defined for us in Leviticus 11. Jesus was *_not_* saying that unclean animals were now _also_ to be considered food.

If you are a messianic Jew, how can you accept his explanation?! It was bogus. If you believe in Jesus, then you can trust that he can replicate food and provide food to the hungry. In Angola Africa they have manna falling for 80 years for a CHristian church who prayed for it in a land of famine. They didn't starve. If I am starving, will I eat pig? No, I will pray to God. He is faithful. Give God the space and attention to demonstrate his genius. John 4 22, salvation is of the Jews, but this bishop says the Jews were wrong! Oh, the Jews were wrong, were they? No, bishop, you are wrong. Humble yourself and learn the Kosher laws and then reread how blood is forbidden in the book of acts. You can't say that everything is good to eat. Things are relative in the bible. John the baptist was not allowed to drink alcohol, but other Christians are allowed. The gentiles were given more liberty in their diet, only because food should not be a stumbling block for salvation. If the gentiles are addicted to pork because they were raised that way, teach them everything else. Bishop dug himself a hole with this. How will you ever find your way back to Genesis 1:29? If I am addicted to something bad, I pray that God will correct me while I can still change.

If JESUS CHRIST was a Jew and HE did not eat the pig then I will not. There is a reason why so many things are prohibited and are not good for the human body.
GOD ALMIGHTY does not change HIS laws or their meaning. Saint Peter was in fact told by JESUS CHRIST in a dream not to call the gentiles unclean. He wasn't instructed to eat insects that creep and crawl or to freely consume meats that are prohibited.
Therefore, we must not eat insects or the meat of the pig, rabbit, mice, camel, horse or shrimps, crab, lobster, octopus etc just like we must not take prohibited drugs, we must not drink alcohol and we must not do things that atheists do.
The LAWS OF GOD ALMIGHTY are for our preservation and anyone who obeys them lives as our LORD AND GOD JESUS CHRIST did. All glory, praise and thanks be to the HOLY TRINITY now, always and forever! Amen! ✡️⛪☦️🕊️💟🙏🏼🛐

    Roman 14:1-23
As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

Paul is speaking about those who would not eat meat that was sold in the meat markets for fear that the meat may have been offered to idols. Instead they would eat only vegetables. If you don't know whether or not something has been offered to idols you can eat it as long as you pray over it because it is *sanctified* (which means 'set apart') by two things: 1) the Word of God and 2) prayer. Are unclean animals set apart by the Word of God? No. We specifically read in the Word of God:
      Leviticus 11:46-47
"This is the law about beast and bird and every living creature that moves through the waters and every creature that swarms on the ground, *to make a distinction* between the unclean and the clean *and between the living creature that may be eaten and the living creature that may not be eaten."*
The Romans passage is also talking about fasting or not fasting. Some people fasted on one day, other people fasted on another day, some people didn't fast at all. Whichever day _you_ set apart to the Lord (to fast) is up to you. You (a human) are deciding to set a particular day apart to the Lord (or not) for fasting. This is not to be confused with the weekly sabbath which is the day that God Himself set apart as Holy. Romans is specifically taking about _fasting_ and _humans_ setting apart days to God.

    • @boltingpuppies
      @boltingpuppies 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

The one who eats unclean animals _will not stand_ before his master according to Isaiah.
      Isaiah 66:15-17
"For behold, the LORD will come in fire, and his chariots like the whirlwind, to render his anger in fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. For by fire will the LORD enter into judgment, and by his sword, with all flesh; and those slain by the LORD shall be many. *Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, eating pig's flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, declares the LORD."*
We need to practice obedience. Be blessed.

I don't agree with your explanation, not because of the hoof, Leviticus 11:7 and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
Deuteronomy 14:8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
You are supposed to explain the reason and connect the topic with the Acts of the Apostles in the tenth chapter
    Acts 10
14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

In the old testament yes but then Lord Jesus came to the world, the old testament is updated to the new testament. In the new testament, Acts 10:11-15 it reads 11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”
14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

Just curious. I know we are not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. But I haven't read anything in the bible that says eating pork is now permitted, even in the New Testament. Can someone explain?
Isaiah 66: 17 “Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, eating pig's flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, declares the Lord."
    Matthew 5:17-19.
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
Some people cite a verse from Romans 14. But it clearly talks about those who only eats vegetables and just meat. It doesn't mention pork or any unclean food.
    Romans 14: 1-4
"As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. 2 One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. 3 Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. 4 Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master[a] that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

    • @dakotasmith1344
      @dakotasmith1344 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Read Galatians.
What is called “The New Perspective on Paul” by scholars is that Paul was not trying to abolish the Law for all Christians. Rather, he did away with the cultural requirements of the Law for Gentile converts.
Or in other words, Gentile Christians shouldn’t be forced to be circumcised or eat no pork because those practices did not contribute to salvation. They are cultural practices tied to the Law, which makes earthly promises to the Jews.
If you notice, no part of the Torah promises salvation. Its promises of land and physical security and happiness on earth for obeying the Law. What the Jews of the time correctly inferred was that God would make a way for salvation to happen later, so they trusted in His goodness. But their descendants during the time of Jesus largely missed the boat.
Being Jewish and being Christian are two different things with two different sets of requirements and rewards. Or, it’s to be chosen in two different ways. And the same person can potentially be chosen in both ways, because they aren’t mutually exclusive.
      Make sense?

    • @dakotasmith1344
      @dakotasmith1344 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

That isn’t to say though that you don’t get benefit by obeying those portions of the Law as a Christian. For example, my acne tends to be worse when I eat pork, probably because it has more toxins. It’s just that the benefits are physical.
Consider it another way. Let’s say I don’t have a car. The speed limit of some Texas interstates is 75. Can I violate the speed limit? No, because I’m not a driver. This part of Texas/US law doesn’t apply to me. Same thing as a Gentile with eating pork and circumcision. Not required for me as a Gentile. But I can reap physical benefits by doing them anyways in some circumstances, like circumcision. It’s just not gonna bring me salvation.

    Leviticus 11:3
"Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat."
As we can see there are two characteristics,
    "clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud"
and what God said is not for eating is not for eating...
the pig has a split hoof and that's ok, but it doesn't "cheweth the cud" so its not for eat

Legitimate question and one for you to ponder… if everything is good to eat, does that mean Cats and Dogs, and Spiders, and Cockroaches, and Poisonous toads and Venomous snakes are good to eat? We don’t eat certain animals because, biologically speaking, not everything is safe to eat and once categorised, you can group together certain animal meats based on their digestive system and how well it is able to remove toxins from the body. For those that are unaware, it’s not just Muslims that cannot eat pork, it’s Jews and Catholics. Lookup Leviticus 11:7. This is from the Old Testament and word of god. One of the amendments that were made by man, was that everything is good so you can eat everything. Ok, so you can eat Dung Beetles then? Give Centipedes to your child and tell me there’s nothing wrong with that logic. It’s the corruption of man and his taste for pork meat that the Christian Bible was amended. It was done by Man, for greed. Ask any True catholic priest. He will tell you the same thing.

As a Messianic, You know, the scripture says you're not supposed to eat pig. It's unclean. But you got a preacher who says, man, I love bacon and you can eat bacon. It's not a problem. Doesn't have anything to do with the Lord. See the Lord when He came, He did something in your body that they before didn't have. He gave you a cast iron stomach. And you can eat all of that unclean trash and it's fine with God. Let me just ask this question, You all know that the Messiah, when He came, He's building that His temple inside of us. You know He's taken His commandments written on the tablets of our heart. And don't, you know, the temple of God is now inside of us. You know, that's what the Messiah did for us. Let me go back in history. What do you think God would've thought if you would've marched a pig into his temple to slaughter him on the altar? That's considered desecration and blasphemy worthy of death. So what do you think He thinks of when you swallow a bunch of bacon and put it into the temple that's in here?

"Your problem is that you believe and quote scripture which is already known to be filled with various insertions and fabricated texts by Greek monks around the 4th century... If you study the matter, you will discover that in early discovered Christian manuscripts such as the Codex Sinaiticus, Codex Vaticanus, Alexandrian Codex, and Armenian Codex, there is no mention of the same Trinity in the book of John 5:7.
This verse in the modern Bible reads as follows (5:7): "For there are three that testify: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one."
But in the original texts of all ancient manuscripts until the 4th century, it reads as follows (5:8): "And there are three that testify on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three are in agreement."
Also absent in all ancient manuscripts is the story of Jesus saving the adulteress from being stoned with the words "let he who is without sin cast the first stone"... In other words, this story is entirely fabricated.
There are so many such insertions and distortions that even the most important prayer of modern Christianity, the Lord's Prayer, sounds different in the original...
Therefore, it is not surprising that in some places Jesus asserts that he is the Son of Man, a servant of God, and a messenger, while in others, suddenly, it is claimed that he is almost God himself... Through the example of these manuscripts, we see that the text underwent distortions towards Trinitarianism and the affirmation of the Trinity..."

Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense. It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.”

"The consumption of pork is unlikely to have been a simple matter of geography or ethnicity, but was governed by a complex set of principles involving determiners like status, gender, and the level of cultic influence from religious sanctuaries. On the few occasions that texts refer directly to eating pork, the context is highly ritualized, suggesting that special religious significance was sometimes attached to the eating of pig's flesh. Further, drawing on evidence from the societies surrounding the Mediterranean basin, a case can be made for the private nature of pig sacrifice. They were killed to ensure the wellbeing of the community and the fertility of humans and crops. A festival performed to reaffirm the human-divine relationship may parallel the practice of sacrificing a pig at the ratification of treaties in the classical world. Finally, this animal's unique place among the domesticates extends to its role as a substitute for humans, a ritual motif that can be found throughout the Mediterranean in antiquity."

It does not say, not to judge in Christianity. It says to judge righteously. It's a common mistake by people who haven't actually opened a Bible. Hope I could help you on that part.

Christ, who is God, does not allow us to go against His own words. This is what will happen to those eating unclean animals when Jesus returns.

@@ValentinaKajcinovska I believe YHVH in Leviticus 11. I believe Isaiah in Isaiah 66. I believe Jesus in Matthew 5. Jesus said nothing will pass from either the law or the prophets until heaven and earth pass away (which is after the millennial reign). Jesus said he will tell those who profess to know him to depart because they practice lawlessness. I believe him so I abstain from eating unclean animals. I have accidentally eaten some but have prayed for forgiveness and do not practice eating unclean animals. Adam and Eve ate something they were told not to, that's how we got in this mess in the first place. Shalom in Yeshua.
