I had the pleasure of seeing Quinn in concert with Buddy Guy back in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and he just keeps getting better and better. He really is amazing, jaw-dropping good.
Those soulful minor chords hit me every time, like some of the old school soul, Jimi grew up with that and it still comes through. Hard to describe nut always know it when I hear it. Great job Quinn, love it! 🎸
Quinn does this song better than anyone I've ever heard . He's just one of most talented guys I know and he replied to a comment I posted a while back and I told him I wished he could come to the Rupp Arena in Lexington Kentucky sometime and he said he would try his best and if he does I'm getting backstage tickets 👍
The fact that he's not even 20yrs here makes it more impressive I read a magazine article about this kid years ago. He didn't want to be another teenage pop star & decided to go his own route. With his natural skill he'll be around for a long time
This young man is on a path to stardom. He plays with the greats and the greats are pleased to,play with him. Thanks for posting and sharing this vlog with us.
quinn sullivan was the first kid guitarist i ever heard by chance when i joined youtube two or three years ago now. i just couldn't believe that an eight year old could play as well as he did on his live performance of the "thrill is gone" 7:15. at the time i must have played it 100+ times. i loved his use of wah relaxed style and the seemingly faultless nature of his guitar playing his smart appearance and self-assuredness. contrary to some commenters i thought that he sang beautifully. it is still my best in class performance by an eight year old ever. for me only toby lee's early guitar work at the same age approaches it in accomplishment. but toby wasn't playing live on tv and quinn was with all the associated nerves that can generate. although he didn't look that bothered about it at all. again by chance a bit later i happened to see the young james bell and loved what i heard equally as much. but he was thirteen. i decided to listen to the thrill is gone again today and it sounds just as good as it did three years ago. i saw this live little wing by quinn and i'm very pleased and impressed with what i'm hearing him play nowadays-ish. soaring smooth guitar work and his voice is as fabulous as when he was eight imo. he's always seemed to me to be a nice person and i'll be looking to hear more of his current work from now on. it's a bit like ancient musical history at two years ago but my thanks for posting this to anybody who's still listening out there in youtubeland.
I've never desired anything as much as I have - To play the guitar. The time I've spent on anything guitar related is FAAAAAR mor than the time I spend actually trying to play. I've enjoyed watching Quinn grow up. I have absolute respect and appretiation for Buddy Guy and his desire to share Quinn with the world. This video is incredible to me. I love Little Wing! I'm always eager to hear anyone attempt to do it right. SRV was the person that set the bar for me personally. It helped me have an even better appretiation for Hendrix. This is the first time I've heard Quinn Sing. If he ever read this, I want to say; "Great Job Man! Keep doing what you do! Best wishes for your future!"
i seem to have a bit of a problem here!! i just can't stop repeat playing these guitar solos!! the guitar sound is so ultra smooth and mellow!! every single note beautifully picked. and i'm loving the side step over to play the solos right in yer face!! young quinn has always been super specially talented but really this is a joy to listen to again and again and again..!!

Just stick with the blues kid doing well ,always be proud of who! You are you could become the next Stevie Ray!! And your name is Quinn don't forget it your still young and you found your way! Good job Love the music I seen you on stage at 8 years old, wow you came long way
His vocals are much stronger, IMO, on this than on the April 2018 Sellersville cover. And no second guitar, but he still covers the sonic space beautifully.
Buddy, Muddy, B.B., Eric Clapton, and Joe Bonamassa divided by five is Quinn. He has every aspect of Blues. He might have been born in a melting pot of blues.
But can he compose? Like Chris Squire from Yes said when someone said it was easy to play his songs, "Yes they are easy to play, but could you have written it?" Covers will only get you so far.
@@alithealien I think you misunderstood me. There is no doubt he can play. The rendition was very good. I was simply reiterating Chris Squire's comment. It is one thing to be able to play, composing is at a different level. There are many excellent musicians making names for themselves as covers artists but where is the creativity, especially around prog, psych, and harder rock? These are dying genre
It will b interesting to see how he develops. He's coming at it from the bottom up, gaining technique and finding creative expression a bar at a time. Bars become phrases, phrases become passages, passages become movements. But is there an overarching search for meaning? It's hard to know at this point. I'm inevitably reminded of David Gilmour and Roger Waters. Pink Floyd continued after Waters left, and maintained very much the same expressive structure as always. Nothing was lost there. Gilmour meanwhile developed his songwriting, and through it offered various moderately interesting comments on the human condition. But his ideas were not brilliant or haunted or angry in the way that to Waters came naturally. I don't fault David Gilmour for this. The two of them had complementary talents. But it is a reminder that no one is a genius in all things.
Don’t be silly - he’s super talented but it’s ridiculous to put him in the same - sentence. Hendrix did it with the back drop of racism - Vietnam & a dramatically shifting society.
nice kid ........great player ...but its too much .......just means nothing ......its all been way too easy for this kid ......he has a lot of talent but he sounds like so many others ....hes great ....but do we really need another version of Little Wing ???
When you are 50 and you grew up with this music and you find these young folks loving it and honoring it so beautifully its really too much for words❤
yeah this kid leaves me specchless sometimes. This was one of them moments
I know right ?
There are plenty of outstanding versions of Little Wing on TH-cam. This one ranks with some of the best .
❤❤ Stevie would been so honored to meet this young man.🎉🎉

Great tribute to Jimi, the man. Quinn, your amazing.

This kids very impressive, he hit a nice middle ground between Hendrix and Clapton versions of Little Wing, and a little bit of SRV in there too!
Don't forget the touch of Santana. Too bad he wasn't properly mic'd.
Claptonish.
Quinn had a little education from Buddy Guy early on
I think you will soon refer to it as "Simpson style"
I am not easily impressed these days but Quinn you really did it for me! Sensational!!

How is the guitar playing coming?
Fluidity threw the fingers - he never Drys up or down lmao 😂
His picking hand is what amazes me most. I've never seen anything like that in my life and i've played for 20 years.
i was thinking the same ! he's good! i saw this guy live it's also particular right hand technique :O
th-cam.com/video/Qz1SoBtYODo/w-d-xo.html
That comes from playing so young. Kids learn so much faster than adults. You cant practice that. You are born with it.
His right hand technique is similar to Chris Buck's, and also Derek Trucks. They both owe something to Jeff Beck, too.

Incredible!!! Looking forward to many years of listening to this man!
That shows you that real music will live on keep on rocking young man
Listening to this tells you just how great a Guitar player Jimi Hendrix was. Jim’s was a very complex player! Very good Quinn!

Incredibly gifted guitarist 🎸
You can't help but love some great blues guitar work. And this is it!
Just beautiful! I could listen to Quinn Sullivan all day every day. Love it!
Both a tribute to the great guitarist Zappa and a demonstration that real music transcends time.
Just stick with the blues kid doing well ,always be proud of who! You are you could become the next Stevie Ray!!

Awesome Love his feel and the clean sweeps he is doing. Playing with a lot of feel. Great Version
One of my all-You Tube Music favorties!!!
here three times a week and thanks
Man, I got chills
One of the most beautiful songs ever written, Jimi Hendrix wrote it Quinn Sullivan is doing a great job playing it
Super... thx for sharing this
Why I love the Blues.
Love that they have made their own version of the song. Really like this one. Great vocals as well :D
Andreas Greve that’s Eric Clapton and Steve winwoods version
Derek and the Dominos version
Quinn you're a fantastic artist, young or not, you are definitely on your way. I love your voice, nice!
Soooo nice! Thanks. Alot of talent there !
His vocals are much stronger, IMO, on this than on the April 2018 Sellersville cover. And no second guitar, but he still covers the sonic space beautifully.
Great rendition of one of my favourite Hendrix songs!
I am looking forward to hearing Quinn Sullivan music
Very nice . Beautiful tonality .
très belle interprétation de ce morceau extraordinaire....BRAVO !
Buddy, Muddy, B.B., Eric Clapton, and Joe Bonamassa divided by five is Quinn. He has every aspect of Blues. He might have been born in a melting pot of blues.
anyone ever hear of Gary Moore, the best.
This kid cannot touch buddy guy… sorry…
Sullivan style add it to the list!
Quinn has a Awesome voice he's a Great Guitarist just Super all the way around ♥️
Unbelievable !! No other words !
Reminds me Little Stevie Ray and Joe Bonamassa when they started at very young and talent age they are gifted.
I love that he plays a Fender Stratocaster not some fancy boutique copy of a Stratocaster. Expensive but still a copy, Quinn has the genuine article.
Outstanding tone
Beautiful
Beautiful...
what music died? never...Speechless
My favourite Jimi Hendrix composition, but this young man has always had exquisite taste.
WOW....never looks at the fretboard once ..brilliant player ..nice tone too
Do you get the sense that when he does look at the fretboard....it is just to humor us??
No
He has always blown me away
His body is in the music !
Amazing young man
Beautiful interpretation man ❤
Fantastic
We no longer have to miss SRV!
Amazing young talent
Nice!!! Play it, boy!
Great player right from child hood
There is hope!
Really amazing!! 😑😎
This bloke too cool👊🏾👍🏾🎶🎸🎵
Kick ass Quinn!
love
Amazing !!
Wow, can this kid play!
Quinn continues to impress.
Interesting that he goes the Derek & the Dominoes route rather than the Jimi route -- and kills it.
Simplemente espectacular
Clapton versus, btw very nice. thank you
Bravo minot !
WOW, This kid can play, looked like his sole was playing that ax. Reminded me a bit of Gary Moore.
que bueno esto!!!!!
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 muito bom
QS is the new SRV 👍😇
AWESOME!!!!!! Turn up that vocal.......
Joe Cockers ( Version of this is the Best / with Santana
If I never hear another cover of Little Wing it will be too soon. What did Jimi do to deserve this?
But can he compose? Like Chris Squire from Yes said when someone said it was easy to play his songs, "Yes they are easy to play, but could you have written it?" Covers will only get you so far.
A mean spirited comment. The guy is clearly very musical.

i am better now thanks quinn
ooo cara e bom
There are a lot of great guitar players out there…
A very very true statement .
Shit man, rip that UP !!! 😉
gotta get my weekly fix
to feliz
It's like if Joe Satriani and Jimmy Page had a kid!
Little Eric Clapton, bravo!
Yeah I heard the domino's version....enough !
Derek and the dominos oriented. Not a bad choice.
I was wondering if I'd see a young talented guitarist coming up the ranks before Ikick the bucket. I think I found him
Clapton version
Not jimi
Like the unaugmented version better.
Better than Clapton, Stevie Ray or Zappa level
Almost as good as Hendrix
Hendrix and Clapton NEVER played Little Wing this well!
Don’t be silly - he’s super talented but it’s ridiculous to put him in the same - sentence.
Hendrix did it with the back drop of racism - Vietnam & a dramatically shifting society.

My least favorite work of his...
Too rushed and improvised
Little Al from House of Cards
(S.L.C.) played the best cover of this tune I've ever seen...
Amazing ! ❤
Amazing!
There is hope!
