Some Context for the moments you were confused about
1:18 - Lebron didnt pick up the ball because the shot clock doesnt run until the ball is touched, but he waited too long and eventually fumbled it out of bounds.
2:10 - Cousins dribbles the ball up the court and goes for the pass to Davis, at the last moment he notices the pass isnt open. But he has picked the ball up and will travel if he doesnt throw a pass. He then throws a terrible pass because of it.
2:40 - You got the gist of the play for the most part. Some players will take deep 3s, and everyone airballs eventually. But Valentine was not the caliber of player to take a deep 3 in a clutch moment of the game. So not only did he airball it was horrific shot selection.
5:55 - Javale McGee is known for some of his gaffs in his career. And in this case he isnt aware that his team has the ball on offense, so he sprints back to play defense while his team still has the ball.
6:10 - The Knicks have the ball up in the game with less than a shot clock worth of game time. You basically never shoot in this case, because the other team is forced to foul you to get the ball back. Free throws are always better than attempting a open 3.
7:15 - This one is strange, but the thought process is Tucker (the one who avoided the ball) didnt want to be the one intentional fouled, because he didnt want to shoot the free throws. He was waiting for one of teammates to grab the ball so they could shoot the free throws instead. He obviously waits too long and the inbound gets stolen.
7:46 - Jr Smith gives his former teammate and friend a hug in the middle of the game, and in the process gives up a wideopen dunk.
10:40 - This might be the biggest gaffe in NBA history. JR Smith (the same guy in the previous explanation) grabs a offensive rebound in a tied game with seconds left. This is during the NBA Finals against the dynasty Golden State Warriors. Obviously in a tied game you would want to try and score the game winning basket. JR Smith thought they were already up though, and decided to try and run away from an intentional foul (which isnt going to happen because it is a tied game). This uses up all the clock in the game and sends it to overtime. The Cavs would end up losing in overtime and this was the first loss of 4 consecutive to get swept in the NBA Finals.
Thats all. Hope I provided some of the context to fully understand the clips.

Regarding that McGee one, I'd rather have a teammate do that than not run back when we actually don't have the ball...
and as for the last one, what's funny here is European teams actually will foul in a tie game to make you shoot free throws so they can try to win it with a 2 if you miss or a 3 if you make both.

The one where the player let the ball roll is pretty common in basketball because the clock won't start running until someone touches the ball. You see this a lot at the end of close games to save time.

1:11 - To clarify this play, 1) that's LeBron, 2) he's "trying" to do something you see a lot with teams who are trailing late. The clock stops on a made basket or out-of-bounds. The clock doesn't start again until a player throws the ball from the location they're supposed to inbound the ball then then another player touches the ball. So, if the defense lets them, the offense will let the ball roll until they have to pick it up to save time on the clock. Here, he just gets a little too cheeky and lets it roll to the point where the defender can contest and I think he knocks it out of bounds, based on the ref's signal at least.
3:33 - My guess is they messed with the audio so it wouldn't get blocked or claimed.
5:50 - At least he was hustling back trying to play defense. Just didn't realize that his team still had the ball. 🤣
6:03 - UP 2! They were UP 2 with 11 to go. They HAD to shoot the first shot because the shot clock was running down but then the shot clock was off when they got the rebound and he should have held the ball waiting for them to foul him. Shooters gonna shoot I guess but that was a SUPER boneheaded play. At least the next play they NEEDED to shoot but that one he had MUCH more time to set up a better shot.
7:10 - My guess for first place for ejections would be Rasheed Wallace (Google says yes). Different Wallace than the one that was fouled by Ron Artest to kick off the Malice at the Palace (that was Ben Wallace) but he was on the Pistons too and did run into the stands to help break up the fight. Sheed, and Draymond for that matter, would be good ones to do videos on.
7:32 - I don't know WHY he was thinking this but he probably thought that number 10 hadn't properly inbounded the ball and the rules can get a little finicky around inbounding so he didn't ant to mess it up but the fact is, the ball WAS inbounded perfectly legally and normally and, in fact, the only person that COULDN'T touch the ball there was number 10.
10:28 - Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh JR Smith. Poor poor JR Smith. Guy was even known for boneheaded plays before this but this took the cake and his career was never the same after. A key component of those Cavs teams that met the Warriors in 4 straight NBA Finals from 2015 to 2018 with the Cavs winning the one in 2016, he just thought they were winning and needed to run out the clock like the guy before SHOULD have done. Now, they still might not have made the shot and they still got swept so it probably wouldn't have mattered in the long run but man oh man was this one bad.

6:15 it's worse... he was UP by two with 11 seconds left. The other team was losing and by him missing the shot he gave them a chance to go down and tie or win. If he holds onto the ball, they have to foul and give him free throws if they want to regain possession before time runs out.

  • @Trillyana
    @Trillyana 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

Rasheed Wallace has the most ejections in NBA history. This is partly because he would get technical fouls constantly, and 2 in one game is an automatic ejection. He had 41 technical fouls in one season, one every 2 games, but probably because of him the NBA changed the rules and now you start getting suspended games if you get technical fouls past a certain amount.

    • @plaid11

5:16 and 5:30 and 5:55 - 3 entries from the all-time Shaqtin a Fool KING Javale McGee! You may remember him from the 50-point Dunk Contest video where he dunked on two hoops at once. He was probably capable of dunking from the free throw line, but trying it in a game is wild
9:04 and 9:40 - the man getting destroyed on the dunk and the man blowing the wide-open game-winning layup are both Brandon Knight. Sadly these are probably the 2 most famous plays of his career.

The 96 Bulls would sweep that team and margin over 20 a game. Gimmie a break. Besides the better talent and defense at every position matchup, every matchup would be a little guy getting shut down by someone bigger stronger, more physical. Jordan, Pippen, Harper would hold Steph, Durant, Clay each to maybe 10-14 pts every game and steph might only get pts from free throws. Front court matchups like... 6'9 Rodman, 6'10 Kukoc, 7'2 Longly =vs= 6'6 Draymon, 6'6 igudala, 6'10 Zaza? LMAO.
