I have at least one black racer that lives mostly in my back yard. Every time I have come upon him unexpectedly, he has been very feisty. He does not want to be friends at all! And he doesn’t try to avoid conflict by racing away, either- he stands his ground! Dang little bugger! 😂. ✌🏼❤️
8 years ago I started watching your videos when I couldn’t get out. I was stuck in the rat race. This week I moved my first load of things to my new home in the southern Rockies. I couldn’t be happier to start this adventure. Thanks a bunch and Cheers buddy.
Dude. I remember years ago, when you were showcasing gear in your living room. You’ve come a long way, my man. I’m impressed by your editing and your passion for living the outdoors and evaluating the gear. My respect
I'm loving your videos but not the snakes. I'm deathly afraid of them. When I was young a snake was crawling the wall in my bedroom. My mom shot it. After that she and my grandma taught me to shoot a shotgun. I was a very good marksman (woman). Why you always make me hungry? MS Ann ♥️
I liked Open Range so much that I have watched it about 4 times. Gritty, romantic, rugged and all about friendship and determination. And of course, the good guys win!
When you add together great acting, great soundtrack, great scenery, great plot, along with an epic shootout scene, you get one of the best movies ever made, Open Range! My all time favorite Western ever made (and yes, I've seen a whole lot of Westerns)!
@@stillnocouch lol. The channel is one of the best channels on TH-cam! Luke said in the video to comment on our thoughts of the movie. I do like your profile picture by the way.
My oldest just graduated yesterday. We had his friends and fellow graduates over for a camp fire with smores and hot dogs cooked over the fire. It was a good time. If course it had to rain so I got two tarps (one of them is the one tigris) hung up... as soon as I did, it stopped raining. Ha ha. Go figure! Our big backpacking trip is next weekend and, after yesterday, my family is not prepared... this ought to be fun... lots of blunders to come!!! Your last child is leaving and it's only my first of 6 kids. I still have my son for the summer, so I'm thankful for that. Thanks for sharing the video and the review!
The tarp as a canopy is a very good idea. Have used one for years. The first was a canopy set that came with four poles, lanyards, Stakes. Was before those pop up canopies ever existed. I camp all the time and I always have a canopy. Tarp canopy is easy and folds down, it's a tarp... so it efficient of space in your vehicle going camping . I bought four collapsible 7ft poles , if needed four poles because no trees, usually there are trees in the woods lol, just ridge line or using chord to tie off tarp to trees to make a canopy. Anyway, under a well tied down tarp, camping in a rain storm is not that bad. Like you said...it is relaxing, peaceful, satisfying to experience nature when you are dry. All normal camping activities can go on like it's a sunny day, if you're covered from the rain.
Yes! When I can't fall asleep, I put on one of Luke's many rain camping videos and I'm out like a light. I have an app on my phone which has several sounds to choose from, but it just doesn't compare to Luke's videos!
About the snakes lol I’ve got two king snakes living around my cabin there around 5to 6 ft long and I love em my rodent populations are in check so far they are a mating couple and have been there since before I bought my cabin .
I have heard clients rave about tonal for the last couple years now! Everyone that gets one loves it, because it adjusts so easy too for multiple family members to use. Also they come set it up at your home to ensure it's securely anchored to the wall bolted into the studs. They cost a few thousand, about the same as the fancy exercise bikes out there. Great video Luke! I love rain popping on the tarp and tent....ahhh!
Congratulations to Lukas!! And to you and Susie! what a fun video once again Luke. You never fail to entertain, inform, instruct, guide and strengthen our determination and ability to camp and do it right!
Have not been camping since boy scouts gosh that was in the 70's but I loved it watching your videos has me wanting to go camping especially now that I am older thank you man.
open range is a great movie with 2 of my favorite actors. Robert Duvall has been a long time favorite too with so many good movies, Second hand Lions, Lonesome Dove, The Godfather, Broken Trail, etc
Love your channel especially the love and pride you have for your children and your adoration of your wife. Always look forward to a new video adventure. And like you , I love our Appalachian mountains.
Is it strange that when you said "Here comes the rain again." in my head I heard "Falling on my head like a memory. Falling on my head like a new emotion."
Good afternoon Luke, the Tonal wesite says: as low as $75 a month or $3500, Way out of reach of most poor hillbillies like myself. Neat tent and wow, the cloud photography is awesome. You're amazing at editing these. Love a nice slow rain like that. Love "Open Range" movie, as one of the best westerns, like Outlaw Josey Wales, etc. Wore contcts for years, keep bottle saline solution for cleaning or installing. I always put drop saline in contact and plop it on the eye, blink couple times and look at a light or something for 1 minute and it seats. Probably best to use a mirror to remove them first year or until you get used to looking straight ahead, reaching in to pinch it and remove without blinking. If eye still hurting, may have scratched it removing the lens. If youre in dusty, wind blowing environment , they will dry out fast and can scratch your cornea, little red ring around it. Good idea remove in those situations. Worst is having one get down in a corner, hence the saline to flood it out of there. If you go swimming, they can come out accidentally, even in a shower if not careful. I wonder if you run a couple of wrapped up towels along the hanging hole in the center, if it would absorb some of the condensation moisture? Coffee, love JFG and my favorite is 100% Columbian. Discovered it working security one night, made a pot, and over 8hrs drank a pot and a half. OMG, sidnt sleep for 3 days!

Quick tip regarding your contacts. You’re probably experiencing issues removing them at the end of the day because your eyes are dry. I found that it helps a lot to use eye wetting drops (Refresh Contacts) when getting used to wearing them or through out the day if your eyes are feeling tired or dry. Thanks for the videos.
You have a good clean show you work hard to do what you do for just a couple days of videos plus then your work's not done I know you have more when you get home for editing and all that you are appreciated you're fun to watch keep up your good sense of humor and don't use foul language you don't have to I love your stories keep up the great work because you're better to watch than a lot of other programs that's on TH-cam. A lot going down in this video. Congrats to Lucas hope all goes well with next step in his life. Have been thinking of getting one of the One Tigris tarps. Looks like a good piece of gear. I’ve also seen racers that have been up to 8ft long here in VA! I’ve also switched to contacts this year and love them. Putting them in and taking them out was tough at first but I got the hang of it but I still need a mirror to do it. I haven’t camped yet with them cause of trying to keep my hands super clean with them. Learning curve. Sorry for rambling! Great video as usual.
Those black racers are a lot of fun to catch. The bigger they are, the faster they go & the harder they are to grab. Those bigger ones can be pretty snappy too. This one time I caught a little one with my kids around & then let it bite me while I was holding it up to show them. I started hollering real loud... man they FREAKED OUT 🤣 I know, it's a cruel joke but it was hilarious.
