Tip with skirts/dresses for colder months: it can be pretty easy to find wool skirts or even dresses at thrift stores that are going to be warmer to wear during the winter. Particularly like long wool pencil or pleated skirts
@@x_kittrix yes, some are allergic to wool. I’m a bit sensitive but cashmere works best for me. Unfortunately its expensive :( other alternatives if you want to wear wool is to wear a long sleeved shirt under a wool sweater or coat, or leggings under wool pants
These are really cute for a dry winter, but I just gotta stick with covering my outfits with my one good rain jacket to protect from the Portland weather (we don't really do umbrellas here haha).
I relate with the British weather too! Winters are wet here and its hard taking umbrellas into school cause there's nowhere to keep it so a proper coat is the way to go.
I'm in Washington state and a water proof coat and boots are a must in my opinion. After I accepted this and stopped trying to wear canvas shoes and non water proof coats I'm been much warmer and drier. I guess the takeaway is work with your weather not against it.
This is literally what I needed! The past weeks I’ve been going around in baggy jeans and sweaters that made me look like actual garbage I’m excited to try these hacks out! ❤️
Me watching all these winter/cold weather guides living in south Florida: Mmm yes this is crucial information. Seriously, fantastic job! I love wearing my wool skirts and tights during the few weeks when I won't be sweating to death.
yesss this is all such good advice and the fits are so cute!! love it!! 🥰 also that green and leopard print hat!! wow what a find! AND THOSE BOOTS!! beautiful!! fave was the last look ❤️
Instantly was listening for what state you grew up in. I see SO many people who grew up in Cali, Florida or Texas who try to do winter wear and while they are amazing outfits, not going to cut it for Midwest winters. Thank you for the video!!
Thank you Gigi for the true vermont chic that you are showing! Yes! This is the art of cold weather chic that the wise women of the north country have passed down through the generations! You are a sweet good girl Gigi!💚🌺🍇🎁 Happy Holidays!
This is the first video I’ve watched of yours, hi! I like your content v much so far :) point is- I grew up in the desert that is Arizona, and recently just moved north to Portland Oregon. In comparison, it’s very cold and wet and we get a bit of snow in the winter. I never learned how to layer!! So although my winters are no where extreme in comparison to what you deal with, I v much appreciate the principles you’ve shared because it feels that cold to me. I’ve been struggling trying to pick it up on my own as I’ll layer a bunch of super warm pieces and then once I’m inside somewhere I’m sweating lol
i actually seem to have the opposite problem, i never know how to dress in summer, it is just so hot that it makes u feel like not wearing anything but at the same time i have a lot of insecurities with my body😢 i live at southern hemisphere so here we are at summer rn
Thank you GiGi for this post especially about dresses and skirts how to layer things and still pull off a pretty look and and still be able to wear a skirt in winter I live your posts vlogs thank you 😊 🎅💖🧚♂️🧚♂️🧚♂️
watching this even tho i live in texas lol (although we might have another bad storm this year actually) i used to wear tights, leggings, and then jeans and it was only like 50 degrees but omg i can't imagine wearing that many jackets woah i guess i will stay in tx
How do you guys layer tights on top of tights or put socks over tights? When I go figure skating and put on socks over my tights it makes my feet very uncomfortable cause Im wearing so many layers over them.
Wash on low temperatures and low speed/spin, there's often a setting on the washing machine for woollen garments. Avoid putting them in the dryer and air dry them flat where possible to avoid distorting the shape- a few tips from someone who knits and crochets ! x
Loved the video! Just wanted to ask, I'm quite short but I think knee high boots are so cute! I'd like to wear them but I feel like they might make me seem even shorter, is there any way short people can make them work or do u advise different style shoes?
I just wear what you wear in the intro and I love it and i don’t care if it doesn’t look fashionable but I am a boy so I guess I’m not as self aware and conscious
hi lovies! everything I talked about is linked below for u😚 love u lots stay warm this winter!!!
Finally someone who shows actuall WITER outfits! So many TH-camrs who live in LA just throws on a long pair of jeans and calls it a winter outfit😭
Yeah, and that’s literally all that comes up when you search winter outfits 😅
Right 😂
I didn't realize how often that happens until I moved out of LA and needed real winter clothes 😂
It's good for warm winters. Where I live the outfits are good for autumn and spring. Winter here is -30/-40C
💯 agree. I am from Ontario canada. We get a ton of snow and it's cold
I really think we need to bring earmuffs back. With all the funky winter headwear on trend for this season, it’s basically inevitable
YESSS I jus ordered some hehe
@@gigimw same mine are little bears 👀
Please let's make it a trend. I have 2 sets that are bears as well, a polar and a brown pair. I call them my bearmuffs.
@@berryhedgehog that’s so cute awh
@@berryhedgehog Thats perfect omg i have since acquired two pairs of bears since then. We Can be the bear club.
So true about thrifting accessories!! Thrift stores always have a FULLY stocked hat/scarf/bag section with the cutest things 🙌
YESSS

Yesss so smart
Game changer for me: wearing wool closest to the body! Invest in a pair of tights + a long or short sleeved thin shirt in 100% merino wool
Or just everything wool in general haha
YES. Its warmer with wool closest to the body instead of synthetic fabrics
That sounds great but sadly my skin has a reaction to wool. I can’t have it against my bare skin because it itches.
@@x_kittrix yes, some are allergic to wool. I’m a bit sensitive but cashmere works best for me. Unfortunately its expensive :( other alternatives if you want to wear wool is to wear a long sleeved shirt under a wool sweater or coat, or leggings under wool pants
Finally a video that is for Slavic winters, it's so fricking cold here. Most of the winter outfit videos are cool but only for warmer winters :((
her torso layering is still not for us
slayy im russian
I would have never believed to say this but: this makes winter outfits seem so exciting!
YAYY THIS IS THE GOAL!
Yes literally! I always hated winter but now i'm learning how to layer and it seems so fun
Finally someone that actually shows what to wear for cold winter and not only for cool autumn type of weathwr

@@willes2735 oh yes, well said!
i know im late but we often dont do umbrellas here in ireland either bc of the wind!
omg the figure skating tights thing is so brilliant

Finally, actual winter clothes for those of us in Canada.

Me watching this in the summer

I literally look like the first outfit during the winter, hope this video helps lol
THIS IS SO HELPFUL THANK YOU
I loved this video!! U remind so much of Maisie Williams 😃
literally living in vermont looking for how to dress for the cold in a pre-winter panic
the music you put in the first step stressed me so much LMAO i’m used to it being mysterious
loved the vid 💖
yeah like for school. just wear like thick tights. or two pairs of tights if they are thin
Where did you get that shirt at 3:46
Loved the video! Just wanted to ask, I'm quite short but I think knee high boots are so cute! I'd like to wear them but I feel like they might make me seem even shorter, is there any way short people can make them work or do u advise different style shoes?
She's short too. Rock those boots! ☺️
I'm short and knee high boots are probably the best, as well as half calf lenght boots
not me watching this like i don’t live in texas LMAO
Really helpful. Thanks
I just wear what you wear in the intro and I love it and i don’t care if it doesn’t look fashionable but I am a boy so I guess I’m not as self aware and conscious
i literally live in florida i don’t need to watch this😭but i was just interested lol
Game changer!
careful with thrifting jackets tho! for some low income families it’s their only way to get warm winter jackets
The prices in the thrift stores are crazy now, I went yesterday and there was a hat at 60 $😅
What thrift stores are you going to? My local goodwill does not have those kind of prices
wheres the white asymmetrical button sweater from??
tbh for me it is the abolsute opposite, dressing cute is so easy in the winter but i have no cute outfits for whe it's hot D:
