The Dr. is amazing. The flood would probably be a good enough excuse to call out but drs. that care about patients will do whatever it takes to get into work during a disaster and I have so much respect for that.
I hear ya there. Many doctors and nurses will do what they need to do to get to work during inclement weather. My sister, who is a pediatric nurse, went to work by snowmobile in January 1996 when 30 inches of snow fell upon Philadelphia. A man who had the equipment volunteered to take doctors & nurses to work. You take care 🙂

See, stuff like this is why I'm being cautious of where I'm moving to in the future - I'm planning to move to a beach town that's safe enough at a home not up close to the shoreline. I currently live in NJ, and I recall that the worst that we got was during Hurricane Sandy with heavy winds knocking a huge tree down, knocking down wires & blocking the way out for us and our other neighbors on the dead-end street for a bit. I really hope that everyone in Florida stays safe, but stuff like this is why I'm unlikely to live there. 😅
Didn’t really “ lose “ everything . Yes there houses flooded a few inches . Ruining the flooring and some interior items . That can all be replaced , including flooring . They still have there houses , cars everything . It didn’t flood that much or get that deep.
I was on vacation with my family in North Carolina and the weather was terrible. There was so much wind and rain and lightning that we had to leave early. I was super bummed out but I can’t imagine how terrible it is for the people in Florida. I wish the best for them and I hope they can get through this
I live there but I had to leave Sarasota (where I’m living) to go back to Philly for a SSI issue and I managed to catch a flight out of SRQ right when the outer band of Debbie hitting us at 9:00 am on 8/4. We have a lake that is built off of rainfall behind us on Lido Key and it was already high (14 inches) from 2 previous storms the last two days before Debbie, the total was up to 26 inches from the ground, it overflowed onto the roads and caused our island to be shut down and police blocking off many intersections due to the floods, now I might get hit a second time due to me leaving Philadelphia on 8/7 in the afternoon and it’s supposed to reach there on that day. Prayers to all affected and prayers for strong recovery of the community affected by this nasty storm and floods.
My dad had an amazing idea to go to the beach right after the storm passed. At first it was very windy, but it settled down. The waves were to big for me to go in the water, but there was a big pool in the sand that I swam in instead.
I was surprised to hear that man say this is the first time it’s been as bad. I figure you live in Florida everyone will deal with waters high and around?! I guess it’s chabgom
I Hope the Insurance company reimburses the Silvers and kudos to the dedicated Medical Doctor for making the sacrifice through flooded weather conditions in showing up to work!
I have some questions here to ask in case if anyone would happen to possibly know the answers to them even though this might seem off-topic and all, but I was just wondering anyway: 1. My e-mail account hasn't been hacked or anything, but a while back I noticed that my e-mail account/address has started receiving various spam e-mails and this has been an ongoing problem for me since this has been happening almost every day for the past several months. What exactly causes this to happen? 2. I might have also accidentally responded to a spam e-mail or two from before even though I didn't mean to do so, and it seems like ever since then, my e-mail account has just been receiving even more spam mail that way. What exactly causes that to happen too and why? 3. If you open and/or interact with spam e-mails in any way, how exactly do the scammers themselves know if you responded to their e-mails like that? 4. Is there also some possible way to completely stop the spam mail altogether or not? I've been reporting the e-mails, deleting them, blocking them, and even blocking the e-mail addresses and domains where the e-mails have been coming from, but it seems like no matter what I've been trying to do, nothing seems to be stopping it so far and I sometimes even receive some spam e-mails somehow from certain senders even though I already have their e-mail addresses blocked although they shouldn't be going through to me if I already have them blocked. I just thought of asking these questions though in case if anyone knows the answers to them and I know this is kind of off-topic and all, but this is just something that I've been having to deal with now for quite some time and it's just really aggravating too although I wish it would somehow stop. I just want to know why and how this sort of thing happens, and also if there's a way to possibly stop it somehow.
That determination that doctor had is beyond all level

You could never convince me to live in Florida and this is one of the many reasons why 😢

These storms make me physically sick. It is the pressure or something.

I actually first thought the name Debby for this storm was spelled as "Debbie" instead of "Debby."
I was visiting my grandparents who live on the beach in Florida. When the storm was named Debbie. It was funny because that’s my grandmothers name.

IF they know a storms coming, why don’t they take some responsibility and move stuff upstairs if they have two floors.
Or if is was before the hurricane why didn’t buy weather radios
