    Great Review Frankie!
    This is Trek jettisoning 2021/22 stock. Much like every other eMTB brand. In Jan 23, similar vintage Trek Rail 5 were going for $3.5 4k.
    I think it helpful to preface your price related suggestions/ comments with a date stamp, what with the market moving so rapidly.
    Personally, I wouldn’t buy this bike unless it was at a significant discount circa $4k. Mainly because it is out of date tech.
    There is no comparison between this and turbo levo comp alloy 2022 that you are referencing at the same price point roughly.
    I picked up a 22 turbo levo comp alloy brand new for $4.5k two weeks ago. I am really happy!
    But, I wonder if there is a bigger price crash on the horizon?
    The question is when does one pull the trigger? My answer is - when ur dream bike shows up, that you can afford and it inspires you to shred - go for it.

      Thank you for the suggestion! Gonna put that to use! I’m predicting new bikes that have the premium markup will start discounting towards the end of this year. Likely 10% max. For those that held steady from 21 through 23, I say hold on just a tad more till the end of 24 we’ll likely see another 10 to 15% added to MY22/23 bikes. Great buyers market right now with so many choices! Levo is a a great bike been loving mine so far! Wife has been enjoying hers since 2019!

    Purchased two 2022 9.7 gen 2 bikes for me and the wife on a buy one get one free sale last November, so far they have been great. I don't jump but do ride technical blue trails. The motor is really good, eMTB is the most usable mode, seems to climb just about anything, and has good range. A 3,500' total climb and 18 mile 2.5 hr ride uses about 35%.

    i want rail 9.9 gen 4. But they are very expensive. Cant buy it now, but i think its better to wait for potential sales like black friday and grab it a bit cheaper. That bike is gorgeous.

    No, you can’t put the new charger 3.1 damper or buttercups into a Domain. 2.3 is the highest damper upgrade available. Same goes for the ZEB Select. I own a 2022 Rossignol Mandate Shift Deore 12 and it came with a ZEB Select Plus. I tried to upgrade the damper and found this out.

      Thank you for the info! Wow 😯 thought the zeb select would be able to get the 3.1 in. Time to update my recommendations!

    There’s a discount on my LBS for this same bike new at 4.5k, should I just go for it? I wasn’t considering an E-bike due the price ranges but this one seems pretty reasonable

    I rented a trek rail 7 last summer and loved it. Just picked up a new gen 3 9.8, AXS with the 750wh battery for 6500, discounted form 10,300. there are some deals out there for the manufacturers to sell outdated models.It's crazy to think how much bicycles are, compared to motorcycles.. but I wanted a bicycle

    • @frankiesemtb
      @frankiesemtb  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a great deal for the 9.8! It is pretty expensive compared to motos. I hope brands learned something these past 2 years.

    Just got a gen 2 with a $3000 discount...sweet deal! I noticed mine has sport mode instead of emtb mode. Is there a difference?

    • @frankiesemtb
      @frankiesemtb  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Congrats on the Purchase $3k discount is awesome! the older Gen 2 is not on the Smart system so you will only see Sport mode. the difference with the smart system that changes assist based on cadence and terrain. it's basically so you can stay in one mode for all types of riding.. but with that said the older systems still have the full range of torque and peak power. so your not missing out on anything power related but rather a connivence update to the system.

      Hmm 180mm might be too much without linkage.. Also 180 fork “May” void your frame warranty. I would double check with trek

    I bought a used Gen2 Rail7 6 weeks ago - I’ve changed a few items on it, incidentally it has been set up as a Mullet….. What’s anyone experience with this?? @frankiesemtb

      I have been riding mullet set up on my Levo and it’s fun in the corners. Full 29” does pick up speed faster.
