awesome video! every music teacher should teach people how to make their own solos, back ups, counter melodies, and improvise by ear :) have you written a Fiddle Jam book? do you have a video / course on advanced fiddling, how to improvise fill in lines between the vocal pauses of a song that is sung, how to improvise intros/ solos, counter melody, and back up? :) awesome work :)
Yes! I am proud to have it distributed world-wide by the Hal Leonard Corporation. I also sell it from the school store at www.fiddlejaminstitute.com as well (physical and digital versions). ...and, I agree with you about what ALL music teachers should teach.
Yep, amazing work, I was looking at the subscribed improvisation courses on the Fiddle Jam Institute website and Fiddle Jam book :) both look stunning :)
Wow. Finally a topic I know. Being eastern KYs best emergency bass player a good foundation of chord theory is a must. Isn’t the minor chord variants lower case Roman numerals. Most country will utilize a ii, II or vi
How do you address minor chords when playing backup to a guitar , ie House of the Rising Sun . Good video though . I play guitar too so the 1 4 5 are pretty easy to remember. Thanks.
Grwat question Chris! Only the middle note of a triad changes (1/2 step lowered) when comparing major to minor. If you stick to the roots and fifths of each chord in your backups, there would essentially be no difference between them. Hope that helps a little.
This was very very helpful. You are a very good teacher! Keep teaching, we need more teachers like you.
Thank you!
Sam Muir taught me that chords are arpeggios. So what if all the notes aren’t played at the same time?
Super helpful, im trying to learn at that explained alot, thanks
Awesome! I’m happy that it helped!
What are the decoative scroll on the edge of your fiddle? That looks really nice!
