I get that it's all commercial, Twitch has to make money after all. But this way of interacting with someone playing a game feels very... poisonous. Like, that Ryu guy constantly donating for attention, it's almost (or exactly?) like those faux-porn streams with girls asking for donations.
So yea, if I were the streamer, I'd be doing these every single day, given how a specific few people have absolutely no problem throwing away hundreds of dollars per stream, but as a viewing experience, it's weird.

@@someduder5044they’re lucrative. But you can’t feasibly do them everyday. People would lose interest, wouldn’t spend as much making for worse content. It would be like taxing a decreasing population. The money will dry up eventually. Doing it every once in awhile makes for a fun stream torturing the streamer, and brings in some new people cause it’s an event basically. Overall I do agree it can be a bit scummy at times though
@@MarcusTalks1 Lucrative yes. Borderline annoying to watch as a regular stream however. The Ryu guy should have gotten blocked from donating for a certain amount of time (which is something others streamers do if a viewer behaves like an absolute mongo to a point of perma banning them if they repeat)

At the rate Oats' chat was going, I'd take NEStroid over ridley tail juggles and phantoon prayge any day

At that point you just start just only playing one game as if it's just laggy and pretty much flip off the audience.
Yeah, when he said "Die to Phantoon and you can play again" it kinda bugged me, because that made it clear the only purpose of all that was just to prevent anything from happening. That just sucks the fun out of it, for me.

You've done some mad things with Metroid before but this takes the cake lmao
As generous as RyuVincent is, the incredible bit spam really just meant Oats couldn't do anything as the games switched 10 times in the span of 3 seconds. Once you take the gimmick that extreme, it made the concept a lot less fun, since there's no sense of good troll timing.

Agreed. Spamming it to force an outcome isn't as entertaining because it turns it into an inevitability. And then still feeling proud when that inevitability happens lol
I do think a cooldown of 5 seconds would’ve been a little better overall-but it might’ve been enough time to avoid dying to Phantoon. I think future shufflers should have a cooldown tho. Even 3 seconds between switches would be decent. Enough time to know what game you’re playing right before you suddenly aren’t anymore.
@@Keiidryn Maybe. I think a progressive cooldown could be good, where the cooldown length starts very short but grows if a bunch of switches are done in short succession. Like 1 sec for first switch, then 2 sec for second switch, up to maybe 5 seconds at max. That would be my suggestion.
@@mklip2001 I actually like that. That feels like a good way to still implement chaos for the viewers but not allow it to just be constant 1s channel flipping with zero progress.

It is entertaining in the same sense as watching monkeys fling poo at each other. Sure, it is funny for the first minute, but then you realize you actually have brain cells and move on.
Finding another way to generate money from his spastic chat audience was brilliant on Oats part though.

This video was pure chaos and I loved it. Members paying Oats hundreds of dollars to watch him suffer.
I now wish I had a desktop so I could manually cut all of the parts of each individual game and splice them into their own segments just to see how chaotic each run would look if it were its own video.
But that aside, this video was an absolute rollercoaster of hilarity. Wish I’d watched it live.

Had a potentially cool/stupid idea. What if it was just a Super Metroid shuffler? Like, 4 instances of the original game. Every time that you bounced to a different instance of the game, you had to remember what was going on based on where you were and what items you had. Could be interesting.

See. The truth is.. Oats had his editor splice together a run of each game by him randomly and he just reacted to the gameplay live as if he was playing.

I'm surprised at how forgiving fusion is for him. then again, he chose the absolute hardest routes he could have for ZM, and SM... Nestroid is just awful any way you slice it, so it's understandable. There's no control over the route in fusion, so... I guess that's why.
