Thanks for the tip on the Sundazed version sound - I've had NM/NM original and listen to it about a year ago. I'll have to check out the reissue.

This is a strong one. I've owned this for many years and as I've gone through records to potentially purge, this one always makes the cut.

What do you think of the OG press?

On the band credits, that's Bill Spooner pre Tubes on guitar. If you have the 1969 Warren S. Richardson LP, that's Spooner's alias. Condello produced the album.

Hi, I remember when the Sundazed issue came out, I didn't even consider getting a copy as I have three OG copies. I have a sealed copy, an open stock copy and a WLP copy. Contrary to what discogs says, the promo copy is NOT mono. It does have mono labels, but the record itself is stereo, as is the cover. It does have stereo matrix numbers given on discogs for the WLP pressing. But, there is no wordage given making this clear. The history about the album is vague, but it seems that this album was originally projected for a 1966 release. I'm going by the fact that It has a much older catalog number than other 1968 Scepter issues have. Plus, it was released in Nov.1968 (according to discogs). Also, why would there be MONO and STEREO catalog numbers listed on the cover? Mono was dead for commercial LPs in the US by late 1968. With that all said, that's why I think the album was held back from release for approximately two years. If the delay is true, the heavy guitar work by Mike is ahead of it's time for 1966. Also, I grew up in the 60s-70s in Phoenix, so I remember Mike very well from the Wallace and Ladmo show, which was on for 35 straight years. Being a kid Mike was the first Hippie that I ever knew, even though I knew him from TV.

Fantastic info about a great lp!! I would like to know what you think of the sound quality of your originals. My original monarch is super clean and really doesn’t sound good in comparison to the sundazed. Normally the original beats out modern repressed lps but in this case it’s the opposite by a country mile.

@@Vinylfromtheunderground Both my Promo and Stock copies have pretty much the same fidelity. I don't have a Monarch pressing. I can see where there would be room for Sundazed to remaster the album for better sound quality. The OG sounds OK. For sure it's not a dynamic sounding record. For your information on the Commadore Condello EP. The guy on the far left is Ladmo, he did not play any instruments. Mike is next, then the next guy is Ray Trainer, he's on Phase 1 and wrote Crystal Clear. To this day I have no Idea who the guy on the far right is. That EP is rarer than the first EP that spoofs Sgt. Pepper.
