The Birth by Sleep preview was so genius in its own way. When you first saw the first Birth by Sleep preview, you were hit with so many questions, like who this mystery Keyblade wielder was and how strong was he. In Final Mix, that last question was answered: immensely strong, enough to thrash Sora if ill prepared. Sora beats him using all of his power with a pinch of luck. Then the second trailer comes and here you get Master Xehanort who completely dominates the Lingering Will along with his two cohorts seen in the last trailer, devastating them in terms of magic and Keyblade wielding skills. What made people even more shocked was one of the mystery knights, who we later know as Ventus, was a lookalike of Roxas, drawing up lots of theories on who it actually is, and the Lingering Will, the same guy who gave Sora a good pummelling, has the exact same face, eyes and hairstyle as Xehanort, drawing up even more theories upon who he is. It all makes sense in Birth by Sleep, but until then, our minds were completely blown on everything we were seeing. This is how you drum up hype for the next game! By laying the ground work immediately after the last game ends.
The trailer was about Roxas, Lingering Will that was actually Young Brown Xemnas, an Oldman that proclaim himself as Xehanort (one who proclaim himself as Ansem), a full helmet Redpliku, and one random blue haired woman (atleast a heroine that not a young girl) ...
Yeah its almost as if the game was written backwards. As in they had the ending already, we already knew the ending before playing it even, and they just filled in the blanks.
This arrangement is not completely Yoko Shinomura's work, this is by Kaoru Wada, gotta give him some credit as well especially since he does all the orchestral arrangements throughout the series.

It is an actual federal criminal offense that this track was not used again. Yes I know parts of it were used, but if we can have Another Side from the KH1 secret movie come back, why not this? For crying out loud, it didn't even play during the in-game version of the cutscene it originally played over.

Its the basis for too many other compositions so using it for one boss would have strange theming (like for terranort, dismiss is his main theme while this theme only has terras theme for a small part of it)
I wish we had some remix of this as the KH3 final boss theme. This is the theme I associate with Master Xehanort- Rage Awakened I associate with the Lingering Will.

It's just such a shame this song was never used in Birth By Sleep proper, when it was the song that was played as it's introduction/reveal in KH II Final Mix's secret ending, even more so when all the trailers used this song to hype the game up when it was brand new, and FUCK did it work! Kudos for KH III at least using it at a crucial enough point to feel like it was pretty well used.

At that time Music software aka VSTI is decent enough to make orchestral arrangements and realife sounds a bit like East west quantum leap. Nowdays with advance technology, they used really realistic software to make this. Most nowdays even orchestral video games uses software now (sometimes we can't tell the difference whether pre recorded without VSTI or Vsti bank audio).

I'll never forget how I reacted at seeing this ending: When the Lingering Will (Armored Terra back then) appeared, the only thing I could said was: Holy shit, it's Batman!
I'm feel sad, yet relieved, that they only put the theme of Terra and Aqua, and not put Ven's (so they don't overused the Roxas's theme) in this theme ... Or did I missed something ? ...
