10:04 Yeah very rarely do the bad guys actually die. If a death occurs you'll know and it'll actually have a bigger impact. It's more so to do with Luffy crushing their dreams rather than just wanting to kill them. Since this anime is heavily leaning into dreams and ambition. When that goes taken away it's basically considered a fate worse than death.
its a typical shonen trope. Death doesn't really matter in shonen, what matters is "defeat", which can be interpreted as ruining their dreams/ambition as you point out

And you said soft, when just a couple episodes ago a character literary died by blowing himself up.
Unlike any other mangaka/writter, that's just the way Oda writes his story.

re watching one piece during the 1st and 2nd half (double digits episodes) gotta praised the growth of the crew and luffy, both as a character and status

Considering how they had to make all of the special effects heavy fights (Luffy's gum gum stuff) in very low dim lighting to hide the bad job i'm definitely a bit concerned.
Luffy vs Arlong was inside in a dark setting. Luffy vs the butler, once again in a dark place.
In the teaser of April's fool, they gave signals that chopper and karu are gonna be CGIs, so probably no dolls or people with makeup like in Sweet Tooth
considering CGI costs they’ll probably go for prosthetics for the everyday scenes and keep the CGI for rumble ball. So I’m already setting my expectations to him looking more human than deer in the live action
Also given his age/size they might consider his bigger humanoid size than the small ones. Kids grow up so will be hard to keep recasting.

That beginning question about the favorite fight. That Arlong fight still holds up, even to some of us that are further ahead. It just held so much weight for Nami as a character, and not getting that satisfaction would have maybe diminished the story.
The end so remember: Luffy wanted 10 members. They have a Sniper, Navigator, First Mate, Chef, and now a Doctor

I'm so excited for the Netflix's LA season 2. Everybody is sooo curious about how they'll do Chopper LA. They said they would use practical effects instead of just CGI. That mean they might have to find a GOOD little kid actor and dress him up like a reindeer. That'd meen it will be more human than animal, so less fluffy, hair only in its head, probably would wear a shirt, and be a little taller than normal chopper. That'd throw people off but that's the reality we have to accept. A re invention of Chopper for the sake of live action.

Actually the reason why luffy doesnt kill is as oda (author of one piece) said that luffy crushes their dreams which is harder and more painful than death basically they live with the agony of failure.

If Luffy isn't there, then he believed that Zoro will protect.
Zoro is the only one that Luffy ever wanted because his infamous strength, none of the rest of the crew was invited because Luffy was interested in their strength.
