Wow! I'm so goad I stumbled out to this video it explains a lot! Especially why lids from specialty stores charge so much. Totally understand the cost. Lexan or of type product is not cheap to start with. Thank you
Welcome to Top Lids, the “OVER promise and UNDER deliver” lid maker. In my case, their own CEO offered me, and I quote, “The entire project will be diamond polished for a “like glass” finish across the entire lid”, end quote. The lid perimeter is dull/hazy/rough……I could have ordered a lid with that finish from another provider for LESS than half the price I paid Top Lids. I gladly paid over double to get a lid that was supposed to be “like glass” finish ENTIRELY!!! 1) I asked them to make it right, they say they can’t. 2) I asked them to return the lid for a full credit, they won’t. 3) I asked them for a 50% refund so that I end up paying closer to what others charge, they offered a minimal courtesy credit, which I refused…… I have been taken!
I had someone from this co. reach out to me via text after I left a message on their website. I responded and they were really odd, saying, hey man, I'm in my car, I'll get back to you next week. never heard back. I texted again and they said they were busy and would get back to me. This was months ago. Never heard from them. I find it hard to believe it was the actual co. but this made me never want to contact them.
Looking to get a lid, but most places are horribly back ordered due to COVID. Are they still able to produce lids and source parts, or are the back ordered at this time?
Do they make them in black and how about bowfronts? Very difficult to measure! If not impossible! It would be nice if they knew the measurement based on the brand and gallons you have or maybe they do, would you know?
Hey Karen, sorry for the delayed reply. Yeah, they are pretty good. You can likely just give them the brand and they'll be able to custom make one for you. Not cheap, but certainly nice!
Basically yes, but it's the last one.. promise! Let me explain why, because I know how annoying it must be! When I started "That REef Show", I envisioned it sort of like a "Late Night" show, where you have the full show that is full of a bunch of segments. So you could release the whole show, and then the individual segments. I was thinking of something like Jimmy Fallon. You can watch his whole show live on TV, and then they release the shorter clips on TH-cam. Well, it was a good idea, but it didn't work. Because my initial show was on TH-cam, so it ended up just being duplicate content, which is annoying for everybody. This is the last segment from "that reef show" that hadn't been released as a stand-alone. So from here on out, no more duplicate content... promise!
You cut the footage a little too soon and missed out on showing the part where it "sinks down" a little bit to prevent it from falling off. Also I feel like with the cat centric intro you should have got the cat-proof model! (I have a Bengal and want to get something extra kitty proof for whatever nano peninsula I end up getting.
Why do you need a mesh screen? I have an aquarium with an all glass screen and it seems to work better, looks better, saves energy, saves evaporation. Why is everyone using mesh screens?
Glass does look better and will help with the evaporation. But requires more maintenance. If you have corals this will greatly effect the par if not cleaned very often. Salt will stick to the glass and sometimes it’s not visible but will effect the amount of light your corals get.
why most modern rimless aquariums don't come with good quality lids is a mystery to me
Cheap companies unfortunately. I have been into the hobby since I was a literal child . And we have made no progress. Disappointing
Wow that lid was amazingly beautiful
Agreed! So nice!!

Wow, these lids look amazing but they cost more than my whole aquarium setup.
oh nooo hahaha

How do you like the lid after using it for an extended period of time?
Quick question why did you wet down the package?
My guess is he is spraying disinfectant. By the date, my guess is this was filmed during the time of Covid19.

Nice quality product. Sleek & to the precise measurements!of your tank. Are they all made of Lexan?
No idea, but it is the same material that they make airplane windows with!

You know I'm not sure. Give them a buzz and see what their backlog is! Good luck!
Great vid as usual. Appreciate your time that you spend making great content bro. 👊🤙😎🐠
Appreciate you watching and leaving kind words! Looking forward to our massive giveaway!
My First Fish Tank I can’t wait bro!!! 👌 💪 🐠
How does it fit the stand for LED Lights?
you would have it custom made to your stand so it would go around the lights. Thanks for the question!
The lid slides? Nothing that holds it in place securely?
It has a rim around the bottom which does lock it into place. There is a little give, but not too much

Ha, totally! I have to rewatch this video, I don't even remember what's in it!
Well they no longer exist
Not true, they are still in business and still making great lids.
