    Good evening everyone. I need some help, please. When I have my speed light SB-700 connected to my D750, is there any way when I flash that, to flash a second external speed light in the same time ? If you have a youtube video showing how to do that (if possible) that would also help. Thank you.

  • @eyesuckle
    @eyesuckle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't get these people complaining about "racoon eyes." I think those shadows around the model's eyes are light enough to allow us to see plenty of detail while still retaining quite a natural look. If you got rid of them completely, I think the face would look a bit flat and "flashed."

    • @lawsonpix

      Hi Chitransh, Yes, you can use the Nikon CLS system. I have tried Nikon Commander mode and have not had great success. I experienced a delay from pushing the shutter button to when the camera fired. I didn't like it. In my next video about High Speed Sync I use a radio popper.

      Bill Lawson - I've had really good luck with SB-800s using CLS. When outside, I like using an SB-800 as Master because it is much brighter than the popup, and you can direct and zoom it towards the Slave flash.

    Loved your video. One thing I have a question about is, does the high sync flash help keep the background from being blown out? I would guess that if you spot meter off her face, the bg would be blown out. Does using flash and umbrella help prevent that? I know nothing about using flash. Thanks

    • @lawsonpix
      @lawsonpix  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, the background won't be blown out unless you want to. High speed sync allows you to control foreground and background separately. Experiment and play with it. That's how I learned.

    • @sidknee4975
      @sidknee4975 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anne Brooks turn off your flash and expose for the background using camera only. Now turn on your flash with HSS to full then take a picture. If the model is too bright turn the flash down.

    • @sidknee4975

      That's good to know, however, I am trying to get more comfortable with off-camera flash. I neglected to mention that I am using an SB900 speedlight. So, to be able to use shutter speed above 1/200, I need to get triggers that are specially designed for HSS?

    • @lawsonpix
      @lawsonpix  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you need to get triggers that allow you to use TTL and HSS. I bought Yongnuo i-TTL Transceiver YN622N II for Nikon and I might do a video showing how to us them.
      OR! You can use Commander Mode already on your Nikon. Check this video out: th-cam.com/video/FW_crpcZH3k/w-d-xo.html to help get you started. Commander Mode isn't as reliable as a radio popper but it's already on your camera so it's free to play with.

    • @adeelansari
      @adeelansari 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By the way, depending on the third party speedlight you have, you can also do HSS with your built-in flash as a trigger while the off camera flash is set to Slave mode. However, you need to make sure that your camera flash and the off camera sensor are aligned and that there is not much sunshine in the way, otherwise the sensor will not be able to determine if the on camera flash went off or not.

    • @lawsonpix
      @lawsonpix  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that's true. I didn't mention that because it's very problematic due to what you mention about alignment & sunshine.
