    Was your problem soft or hard pedal? I just 383 swapped my s10 and my pedal is soft. I bled and bled and there is no air.

    Very helpful, thanks, Did you do thins because you have low engine vacuum? How much vacuum do you have, I only have 14" of vacuum and my brakes are crap. Cheers

    My handheld says I get about 13 and at times looks like less is that enough to work with a vacuum canister if I need around 18?

      I have a vacuum gauge, but never measured it. I won’t have it out for a couple more weeks from storage, otherwise I would check for you. Sorry.

    Thank you for the install video bro, I got a big cam JZ Cressida and it’s horrible to brake. Should you run claps on the ends of the hoses?

    • @johnmilner7603
      @johnmilner7603 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No clamps are needed on vacuum hoses but you can use them.

    Cannister helps with volume not the actual vacuum number . The xtra volume helps if brakes are borderline ok ie mild camshaft . and running out of vacuum
    In a 12--14 inhg vac or less a vacuum pump is needed .. When systems are designed more iinches of vacuum equals more assistance equals more brake force .... 15inhg is regarded as minimum needed

    Would this work for a 1968 cougar headlight doors, which are vacuum operated? I suspect my OEM canister might be leaking & it's in a really nasty place to remove. To make matters worse, no new reproduction parts that fit are available. If I think this can work, I can just mount it near the shock tower.

    how far can u place the canister, I am tight for space so was thinking of putting it at the front bumper area or is that too far?

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have looked around at instruction manuals and forums. No where says there is a max distance. I would say you should be good to install in the front bumper where you were thinking. Just make sure you have the correct vacuum hose to prevent collapse of the line.

      If installed up front then you will have more vacuum bc you’ll have storage in the long rubber hoses.

    Except you hooked it up backwards. The check valve are exit air not intake air

    • @dntlss
      @dntlss 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      According to the Crane Cams website that sells these type of canisters (the canisters are all the same,certain companies just rebrand them) it says that the hose from the engine vacuum (manifold or carb) goes to the check valve on the canister and the other side of the canister goes to the booster, thats exactly how he plumbed it.
