OMG!! Femke Bol Just Proved Lethal Over Sydney McLaughlin Levrone

  • As the days move closer to the Olympic Games in Paris, track and field fans worldwide are already anticipating a major clash between America’s Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and the Dutch sensation Femke Bol. These two athletes have been ducking each other and denying us the chance to witness them face off on the international stage. And as each one of them continues to thrive in their own space, the entire track community is left confused about who is better among the two. But I think the time is now ripe for the two to meet on the same track and prove to the whole world who the real queen of the 400-meter and 400-meter hurdles is. I mean, it’s enough with the talk and now is the time for us to witness one of the biggest clashes in the world of track and field. And looking forward, there can never be any better moment other than what we expect to witness at the Stade de France stadium, during the Olympic Games Paris 2024 this summer.

    Fundamental fact that many people forget: Bol only started on the hurdles in 2019 (!!). In other words, when she got the Bronze in Tokio in 2021 Bol had only two years of experience on the hurdles compared to McLaughlin who started in 2016 and thus already had 5 years of training and experience on the hurdles in 2021. That is a massive difference. Yet in 2023 - a few months after changing to the 14 step stride - Bol already ran a 51.45 in London which would have won a gold in Tokio... I am not saying that Bol has already caught up with McLaughlin, because that remains to be seen when McLaughlin finaly decides to run again, but it does put another light on all those people who shout that Bol will never catch up with McLaughlin... I am really interested what a confrontation between the two will bring, but I am afraid there will be none...

    Jezus, how many more of these videos can there be ?
    "they have been ducking each other" ... Nope, Sydney doesn't race much in general, but last season she raced in a completely different event, so that's the main reason there was no clash in 2023.
    As for the possibility of them racing each other: the open 400m is off the table as Femke isn't competing in that event in Paris and it's not yet certain what event Sydney will compete in ...
    Also, saying "enough with the talk and now is the time" doesn't make the Olympics come any closer, it's still 5 months away ...

      Well, I can give it a shot... To begin with Femke Bol is just a huge natural talent. Having been a rowing coach myself I know from experience that there are people who are just "built differently". For instance in a 1st year student "lightweight" rowing team that I coached (in rowing there are 2 weight classes (for males): leight, untill 72 kg, and heavy = anything above, these are normally guys of 90kg or more) there was a "lightweight" bloke who by nature could pull more power on the ergometer than the average heavyweight rower. Femke Bol is cleary such a natural talent who is just stronger than other people of the same weight (there are video's by S&C coaches about Femke doing weightlifting, she is surprisingly strong for such a thin looking and tall (1m84) person, she does her powercleans with weights of between 90 and 97.5 kg, while she herself weighs only 65 kg. th-cam.com/video/VC78KaAhsIM/w-d-xo.html). Then she has some other natural advantages, such as very long and musculated legs combined with a leightweight torso, and also a naturally very efficient way of running where she combines an energy efficient long stride with a low step frequency with a very good running form where her torso, arms and head are very relaxed and make very little unneccessary movements, which all help with the efficiency. The result of this she reaps after the 300 meter mark, when the other competitors are faltering because of the lactic acid and fatigue but Femke still has a "kick" and makes the difference over the last 100 meter or so.

They are doing it to WIN just like the men. Again you are confusing things when you see womens performance in the light of men's performance. It is just like top level chess players who can't beat the best computer chess programs. Does that mean that human chess-world champion is no longer the world champion? No of course not! They have a lot to prove and with the silly and ridiculous idea that men are going to be allowed to compete in women's sports (yeah..we are talking about the future of Olympic women's sports or what will be left of it), they don't want to have to plan for a contingency plan if that is the bleak future(or the end of women's sports). What YT posters ruin (IMHO) is create these creative scenarios(i.e. Bol vs McLaughlin-Levrone) for clicks. There is no guarantee that any of these women will get a gold medal at the Olympics. Yes, she has to race that first, but it marks her potential, given the fact that in general indoor 400m times are about a second slower than outdoor times. So I don't think you say can that McLaughlin is "better" on the 400 flat, actually I would say that one the flat Bol is stronger at the current state of things. And on the hurdles McLaughlin of course has that famous 50.68, but her second best time is 51.41, which is only 0.04 faster than Bol. • @BromMaskovic-ms4iq
      @BromMaskovic-ms4iq 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hubrisnaut There is no channel (that I know of) that explains this, but I can give you a short explanation. The problem is that indoor and outdoor times are hard to compare because they are run on very different kinds of tracks. The outdoor 400 m is run on a 400 meter long track, where the runners have to run only 1 lap with two relatively wide and easy to run "corners" to complete the 400 meter. The Indoor 400 meter (also called the "short track" 400 meter by the IAF) is run on a 200 meter long track, with naturally shorter straights and sharper bends (that are often even banked) that the runners have to run two laps of, to complete a 400 meter distance. The problem with this is that such a short track is more difficult to run, with those shorter straighs and (in a 400 m race) 4 tight bends. Therefore the indoor ("short track") times will always be slower than the outdoor times. To compensate for such difference the IAF has a points system that is designed to give some kind of valuation of the performance relative to the difficulty. And Femke Bol's World Record on the 400 indoor of 49.17 gets 1272 points, whereas Sydney McLaughlin's PB on the outdoor (she doesn't run indoor) of 48.74 gets 1257 IAF points. Which shows that the IAF sees Femke Bol's indoor 49.17 as a "better" performance than McLaughlin's outdoor 48.74.

      Simple facts BRO: Sydney McLaughlin had a massive headstart(!) on Bol. McLaughlin started on the hurdles in 2016 and reached at time of 51.46 about 5 years later at the Olympic games 2021. Femke Bol started on the hurdles in 3 years later in 2019 and already 2 (!) years after that she was 3d in the Olympic games, and in 2023, only 4 years after starting on the hurdles she ran 51.45 in London (which is faster than McLaughlins 51.46...). Conclusion: McLaughlin has/had the upper hand because of her headstart, but Femke Bol's develops faster than McLaughlin. Question: WHY are you Americans so panickily trying to deny that there is a contest? Are you a little afraid maybe? REALITY: we will see what happens at the OG in Paris (and in the years after that)
      O and by the way: "Bol has not even gotten close"? McLaughlin herself has never gotten close to that 50.68. Her 2nd best time is 51.41...

      Bro: Femke Bol's 3d World Record on the indoor 400 flat of 49.17 is worth 1272 IAF points, McLaughlin's PB on the 400 flat of 48.74 is worth 1257 points. For now I would say that Femke is actually ahead of Sydney.

    The younger Femke will eventually break the more mature Sydney’s records

      Bloke check your facts before you say stupid things. Do you even know the difference between indoor (200m track) and outdoor (400 m track)? Femke Bol has just improved the indoor WR 3x in a ROW... Bol improved on the previous holder Jarmila Kratochvilova by a whopping 0.42 seconds! But that same mrs Kratochvilova was also the penultimate holder of the outdoor WR with a time of 47.99(!) Now mrs McLaughlin's best time on the outdoor 400 is 48.74, which is 0.75 SLOWER than mrs Kratochvilova... 🤡

      Femke's WR on the flat 400 is 1272 IAF points while McLaughlins PB is 1257 IAF points. And on the hurdles their last direct meet was in 2022, when Femke had only 3 years of experience versus McLaughlin more than 7 (!) years. We will what happens in Paris.
