    This is a great video... I am traveling there in two days time. The information is super helpful. We are a couple with a 6 year old kid. Since you have visited Paradise cave, can you pls tell us if it's possible to do it without a tour?

      Hmm yeah but we had to rent a scooter. I am not so sure if you want to take your six years old on a scooter. But if you rent two scooters for the three of you,... you can do the caves without any tour at all. Thank you so much for your comment

      @@how_to_travel_the_world we might get two scooter. I ride a motorcycle in Saigon so it's not really an issue.

      Ok great! Than you can do it for sure without any tour. The ride is also really easy. We don’t ride scooters a lot ;) we try to avoid it. But here it was easy

    Just back from Vietnam last week. Phong Nha was my favourite place. National park and caves are amazing . Even phong Nha village has a cool, quirky vibe to it. I was amazed whilst travelling Vietnam how many other travellers bypassed. Phong Nha. We left there after 2 nights to go to Hoi An. Biggest disappointment of the trip. Incredibly touristy and catered to tourists in Hoi an. 1 day and night enough there. But do not miss out Phong Nha especially if you like renting bikes. It's great to get lost here

      +Chrisy Haigh thank you a lot for your comment! We really loved Phong Nha too and I think if you travel Vietnam you need to go there for sure! Of course Hoi An is touristy, we still liked it somehow. I think there are places with less vibe like nah trang for example. But yeah everyone has different experiences which is good. What other places did you love in Vietnam?

    Thank you this was so helpful! I will be in Da Nang this Spring and really want to visit Paradise cave. Is bus my only option? Also do you know travel agency that can bring me there as I'm not comfortable with directions and riding a scooter. Thanks so much!

    • @how_to_travel_the_world
      @how_to_travel_the_world  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Linda T hey as you go to Da Nang you can book a tour for sure. We met people who booked a tour which took them directly to the caves. So yes bus is the only option. The caves are in the middle of the national park. I would ask in your hotel for a day trip. They will help you for sure! I promise! Does this help you?

    Hi, could someone please help!
    I’m off to Phong Nha in 3 days, planning to stay in the village. Do I need to book a tour of paradise cave before hand/ can I organise one whilst I’m there? Or can I just go and get a ticket when I’m there to just enter as a solo person?

    • @how_to_travel_the_world
      @how_to_travel_the_world  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey hey, yes just go there. You can organize everything over there. We rented a scooter and bought the tickets at the entrance. I hope this helps. Best

      Hey I'd say rent the scooter and go on your on way. It's the cheapest and most fun way to do it. Ultimate freedom

    Hi! Your video is great! Very helpful!
    How did you find the mini bus from hue to phong nha? Do you know the name of the compagny? Or do you know if they have different departure time from hue? We would like to leave Danang early in the morning, stop to visit Hue in the day and leave at the end of the afternoon to go to Phong Nha :)

    • @how_to_travel_the_world
      @how_to_travel_the_world  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Pierre-Luc Provencher hey mate, thanks for your comment. So this is a difficult question as we had one full day and booked the mini bus from Hue to Phong Nha village in our hotel (charming hotel). I actually don't remember the company - the bus driver was rude anyways. I think you will be able to find a bus somehow. Don't forget that two rides a day are maybe a bit to rushy...

    • @how_to_travel_the_world
      @how_to_travel_the_world  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey hey, we have not done it,...but as far as I remember you book like a whole ticket for the whole experience. Thats why Dark Cave costs a lil bit more!! We have not done it, but people told us it was a great experience! :)

      Hey hey, so when you are in Phong Nha village on the main road and there is only one main road ;) there are a couple of places and restaurants where you can rent scooters really cheap. We just went to a restaurant :)! Hope this helps?

    Is the entrance fee paid the day we want to visit? Or should I plan to book a reservation?

    • @how_to_travel_the_world
      @how_to_travel_the_world  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You pay the fee just infront of the cave. We didnt make any reservation. I dont think you need to worry about that. Only the Phong Nha cave is hard to reach, as you have to pay for a boat. Its better if you are a group of people. Does this help you?

    We want to travel on a budget, but one of my friends who went to Phong Nha strongly recommended doing one of the Oxalis tours to Hang En, even though it's *very* costly (7.5 million dong for 2 days, 1 night person). Did you hear anything about these tours? If so, what do you know about what these tours provide that that a visit to Paradise Cave doesn't provide?

    • @how_to_travel_the_world
      @how_to_travel_the_world  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey hey, I actually havent heard anything about those tours. I know that some of the tours a really overpriced. If you feel like you could ride a scooter, I would go for this. Really cheap and easy. We do not ride scooters often, as we like to be safe, but here it was good and easy. So go to Phong Nha check out the caves on your own. I think the tours provide a full package,...so maybe all caves? there are like 3 in total. And maybe like the trip group experience and lunch? I hope this helped you?

      yes i'll go there june-july, but curious about hang va, hang en or son doong. although son doong might be out of my ordinary because i am not regular trekker.. i am just a good swimmer and very basic trekker :D

    • @how_to_travel_the_world
      @how_to_travel_the_world  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      that sound amazing. Vietnam can be quite hot. I think you will make it. We are basic trekkers too,...but whenever we start hiking we enjoy it very much! The landscapes are just too stunning.

    I think you should show more footage instead of a talking head. I was hoping to see an entrance to Paradise Cave to check if a person with mobility issue can enter, but there is no footage of the cave, so I have to find out from other people's films... Vietnam seems to be a great place for young and sport-oriented people but if you have any mobility issue some places are simply impossible to see. Sometimes it is also hard to find out in advance if a place is available for everyone or just for people who have no health problems. :/ Vietnam's poor infrastructure is not your fault of course, but I'm just pointing out that you could include a little bit more details, so the movies would be more informative for wider audience.
