Hue is a wonderful place, the people are lovely, some went out of their way to help me out. The food is fantastic. I have been there twice and want to make a third. Lovely seeing it again in your video. The history lesson is great, thank you.

One of the buildings at Tu Duc looks like where a scene from the movie Three Seasons was filmed. And interesting that the emperor for that one was also a poet, like the character in the movie in that scene. And your purple ao dai is gorgeous and you look beautiful in it!

Thankyou so much for bringing back such happy memories of my visit to Hue I really loved that combination of Vietnamese and French colonial style.I want to go back to visit the famous college there, visit the centre near the Imperial City run by people with mental disabilities (it sounds amazing especially as I work in this sector here in London UK) and at the city centre hotel where I stayed they had a scheme where hotel guests could volunteer to spend a few hours of their stay helping poor Vietnamese students with their English language.Sadly I only discovered this on my last day but I vowed to return as I felt it was a wonderful idea by the hotel manager.Sadly this damn virus situation as spoiled my plans but I am trying to remain patient.Being British I thought I might be able to help a few students with the mother tongue.Did you have a chance to visit Europe it's such a wonderful continent...nearly as lovely as Asia! And finally dear yes you must visit lovely Japan. The people are so polite and the service you receive everywhere is wonderful definitely no scams....and the trains run exactly to time ha not like here!!! I still remember those hot Vietnamese Summer days I love warm weather but even for me it was hot hot hot!!
    With Blessings for your day.Steve

    Hello Van !
Nice posting of video on Hue. It brings back memories of my trip there in 2017. Due to only a 2 day/1 night trip, I've only managed to visit the Imperial Palace & Thien Mu Pagoda. The palace compound was huge & take a lot of walking to see but was well worth it. The pagoda is nicely situated beside the Perfume River with breathtaking views.
Should have stay an extra night to visit the other attractions.
Nevertheless, I really enjoyed Hue & the scenic drive from Da Nang thru Hai Van Pass & Lang Co beach. The views are awesome. That trip was part of my Da Nang - Hue - Hoi An self planned visit.
With proper planning, trips can be very smooth in Vietnam. Don't you agree?

Any chance you can make a couple of videos on how to find and rent for a 3 or 6 months apartment/condo/studio in places like Hanoi, Saigon, Hue, Nha Trang, etc.I am sure people are interested in prices and apartment tours as well as what is needed to rent one on a toourist visa. Your violet Ao dai is very suitable to the poetic landscapes in Hue. I can hear a sound of cicada clearly in Thien Mu Pagoda, and how kind of you to blur others' face.
However, when you stand far from camera, your voice is a little bit quiet, I think you can use mini micro to record and it can reduce background noise, produce the good quality of sound.

This is quite different from 1968 I viewed some walls from south of river doing road sweeps I have no real recollection of Vietnam other than the trees and hiking the hills. Of course occasionally we would meet the indigenous population more of exchanging small arms fire than a cultural exchange These are my memories of Vietnam it’s. of trees hills and streams Which limits you to line of sight most often That’s until the defoliants were applied. So my exposure to Vietnam and the culture is largely due to that This is a distinctly different country for me so the best parts of Vietnam will always be the hills and streams as almost all the birds and people are not there which means I was an alien on an extended paid excursion which went that year

I am having such a bad luck with my plan to visit Hue....first it was during Tet this year as the trip was cancelled due to fear of the 3rd covid break. Postponed that to literally next week and now we are in the biggest wave ever and people from Saigon will be quarantined for 21 days in Hue........smh....

Selamat Malam to Vanvu, Hue I'll put in my bucket list when I want to visit in Danang, may I knows its okay or not I travel to Hue from Danang by train? Secondly, is relevan or not to ride dragon boat only to travel around in Hue likes Imperial City & Emperor Tomb around the Perfume River or should I book a tour guide ? Last inquiry, I planning to visit Hue only 1 day, is enough times or not to visit all the tourist attraction in Hue only in 1 day ? Thanks Vanvu for answering my question, terima kasih from Malaysia.

@@andorozan9418 wassalam, thq for your great advice, my planning itinerary is to stay at Danang for transit on 5 days 4 night bcs I'll only to visit Bana Hill, Hoi An & Hue only for 3 days bcs Danang is easy for me to connect these 3 places by using public transport likes rail, bus, and e-hailing and easy to connect with Danang international airport before continuing my journey to Hanoi by using plane, after I arrive at Danang I only visiting Marble Mountain, for me I'm not very interesting tourism attraction in Danang, I only interested in Bana Hill, Hue and Hoi An, this places is much better for me.
      Terima Kasih and Selamat Malam.

Hi Gan Sern Ann, I visited Hue with my mom last year. Here is my experience for your queries
      1. Travel to Hue from Da Nang by train: My mom and I bought a train ticket from Hue to Da nang, and it was the first time my mom had a chance to travel by train =))) Everything good, cheap ticket, buy online easily. Recommended this option.
      2. If u only plan visit Hue 1 day only,
      - U can hire a motorbike to easily visit all the destinations mentioned by Van Vu. But this option requires u need to read the map carefully & frequently to make sure that we are on the right way.
      - Or U can book a 1-day program to visit all these places: almost of the hotels in Hue have these guidelines/support to book it, they have multiple tours for you to choose. The price is quite affordable. My mom and I booked this tour and during that day - we had chance to meet other foreigners, tour guide introduced & provided full information abt each destination. At the end of the tour, we had chance to ride dragon boat accordingly.
Noted that 1-day tour includes: bus pick up at the hotel, visit ALL the famous tombs, the imperial city, Thien Mu pagoda, Lunch and Dragon Boat. It is perfectly fit your timeline from morning to afternoon.
      - In the evening, u can try some local foods and go around Hue.

I am not sure but I think the background musics for the part Khai Dinh Tomb is kinda Irish musics. If it is not, then it might be the Scottish.

Two things ... I wasn't aware that the Vietnamese raised Koi fish. SO COOL! What are they called there, and do you know any of the histories behind it?
Second, I know they make clothing, etc. in this region, especially in Hoi An (other side of Da Nang). I've also seen where the silk here is second to none. Have you ever had clothes made around there, or at least gone shopping? If so, tell us all about it!
It has always been a dream of mine to go there and have clothes and shoes made! Especially silk shirts, jackets, and kimonos!

Of the Nguyen tombs, I prefer by far the tomb of Gia Long, the founder of the Nguyen dynasty. There is a bridge now so you can go there by road. I hired a boat (as the bridge was not finished then) and took "xe ôm" to go from the river banks to the tomb complex. It is quite a way out. On the way back, I hired a Ca Huế troupe (who came to the boat) to listen to traditional music on the Perfume river, a very pleasant experience. I should point out that the Nón Lá (the conical hat) nowadays is a lot smaller than the old design. The larger hat looks much better. You can still see women with the older, larger hats in the Northern highlands. In Huế, it should be nón bài thơ.
