Came in clutch for me! I just started the hobby this year and finally got my Ultramarines up to 1000 points and get to play my first full game against a Death Guard player next week at my local gw store! I didn’t really build the most optimal 1k list (bought the starter set then just started adding whatever I thought was cool 😂) but I built the list with the gladius task force in mind so this guide is super timely! 🔥
As an ultramarines player i of course really likes this detachment, quite sade though to see the win rate of space marines with this detachment... our units can't make good use of it even though it's a quite powerfull detachment à think :/ and it's even sadder when you see divergeant chapter making better use of it...
I am the biggest hater of divergent chapters lol I think 10th edition has highlighted more than ever how absolutely bullshit the concept of the divergent chapters is. There is literally nothing fair about them from a design standpoint, and they’re a blight on the design of the space marines faction.
@@CuriousLumenwood If at least they made sure that divergents chapter have points for all units to nerf them on what's too strong with them like they used to do in 8th and 9th it would be ok. Like for exemple the assault intercessor with jump packs are fine with the SM codex, but they are too strong in BA, with the current system we can fear a cost increase for these in the SM codex even though they are too strong only in BA... with the old 8/9th system were BA would have their own point cost well they would only increase their cost for BA. I really don't understand why GW chose to do it differently in 10th...
@@malekith13 I think the worst part is that they’ve shown that they CAN do this in this edition. Imperial Agents units have different points costs if you take them in an Imperial Agents army vs if you take them as an Ally. There’s no reason, aside from GW being lazy or playing favourites, why they couldn’t do this with the divergent chapters
@malekith13 I am very interested in starting to build my own ultramarine army and I would very much appreciate any tips for optimal buying options/starting out. Thanks and “Courage and Honor!”
So far we have Space Marines, Tyranids, Necrons, Admech, Dark Angels, Tau, Orks, Chaos Space Marines, Custodes and Adepta Sororitas, we are working on Genestealer Cult at the moment which will be coming soon.
@@VanguardTactics nice, you’ve done Tau! It didn’t feature in your website copy! Probably worth an update as lots of people like me probably don’t realise you’ve upped your coverage!
I saw a video recently about the adaptive strategy stratagem and how you can only use it to change the doctor and that's already been selected and you can't use it on a turn where you haven't selected an army wide doctrine
Yeh I don’t think it’s intended like that other video states. On GW battle reps they specifically change doctrines using the stratagem even when not in a doctrine 🤷♂️ which is likely as intended but sounds like some TO’s have it wrong. Needs a faq
With our codex units, the 10th edition is already lost for us, even fun games can be hard with ultramarines, we need meta armies to stand a chance as our rules just suck.Almost everyone can table us. And we can win only due to scoring, until GW won't repair Codex marines we're trash and last faction in win rate.

10000% agree, hate gw for nerfing us due to BT or BL being strong with THEIR detachments and units.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your work.
But basically you are just reading rules from the codex.
Help! I thought the Comabt Doctorines were only for the 9th edition!?
Well some centurions with Uriels ability works great. :)
Turn 1: Dev Doctrine
Turn 2: Assault Doctrine
Turn 3: Check piss
The ultimate detachment 🙌🏽

Has the GSC class dropped? Because then you have both my armies and ill probably jump on it.
They said in another comment that it is being worked on, and will release soon.
How many Masterclasses have been produced?
Army wise I mean

Vanguard masterclass from vanguard tactics?

Where did you see that video? I had a similar interpretation myself. Thanks!
Wich video, we have the same interpretation in our tournament..

Gonna wait for the sisters masterclass to join.
