This is absolutely among my favourite Wild Fly films. It's a great story, really well put together. JD comes across as hugely talented, genuine & a really great guy. I'm sure that he now has many more fans across the world.
Love Wild Fly! Thanks for sharing more than just your life's work, but others' too. Mr. JD Clayton is my kind of guy! He's now in my Spotify library. Great film!
Man... I am a huge JD fan, what is awesome about this is I lived in Roland OK and spent most of my time in Fort Smith, what an awesome place to be. I went to that very pawn shop that you had purchased the guitar. This video makes me smile big time! Love your videos Scottie this is an amazing one once again.
Great story telling! Loved every second, from a guy that spends 20+ days a year on the Kings River. Wild Fly and JD both have a new fan! Holler if you ever want to go back down the river.
This is hands down one of the best works you’ve done. Maybe I can relate on a deep level having a family member pursuing music, but the incredible storytelling makes this one an instant classic. I also want to paddle the upper stretches of this river so it’s cool to see some footage from it!
I feel like I was along on the trip. Y'all captured the heart and soul of a fine adventure and did an excellent of showcasing the art of fly fishing and the enormous talent of JD Clayton. Also, I just bought a dang Wild Fly hat!. Woo Pig Sooie!!
Great film! We love Arkansas as well. Loved JD’s personality and music sound. Caught my first small mouth on the Buffalo River as a guy from Toledo Bend La it was awesome experience and I was able to relive that moment as I watch this film.
I just finished watching this. For the record, I learned about Wild Fly from my son’s good friend from high school, Jake Kaufman. I believe you and Jake may have been in the same frat at App St. I was hooked immediately watching all your productions. I learn about fly fishing, I’m a newbie, but I was drawn in by your ability to capture and convey the moment and pull your viewers in. It’s obvious a lot of thought and time goes into the process and your episodes have evolved and broadened. You have taken what started out as a hobby and turned into a production. I said all that to say this is my favorite episode ever. I love fishing and I love music. You guys had lots of laughs, but the vulnerability of sharing the realities of what you both do, made this an incredible episode. I will continue watching Wild Fly, but I am also a fan of JD Clayton. And hell yeah I wanna see more of Feathers & Strings. Thanks, David
Being from rural river valley Arkansas, I sure appreciate you showing off what this beautiful state has to offer. Hit me up when you decide make your way back to my neck of the woods. Thank you for sharing your experiences and truths with us all.
Well produced but the fishing didn’t heat up until 40 mins deep, incredible music from an incredible artist. Will definitely keep an eye out for him. Appreciate the kind work in this production.
Great video, Scottie. Thanks for showcasing an often overlooked region of the country. Arkansas was my childhood home, and I'm glad that you're bringing attention to its natural beauty. I hope you get a chance to chase some big Arkansas browns someday.
For the algo from Patreon 🤝 One thing I've noticed, the content has gotten so incredibly good, but your style is still there going back to the videos of your roots in WNC. Just perfecting your craft sir! Keep it up
@ found you guys by looking for “saltwater fly fishing” and one of your videos looked interesting and after that I found myself watching a lot of the videos
Know the Clayton family well from Ft Smith! Great video! Next time yall are in the area holler….place on the Kings River for base with canoes and kayaks!
Ayy great film as always, Scottie. Grew up in Russellville, AR and went to college in Fayetteville. Played music all over the state, including Ft Smith. Wouldn't be shocked if JD and I know some of the same people. I live in Denver now, after a year in SLC. Didnt get into fly fishing until I left AR. Absolutely have been meaning to go back and chase smallies in the Ozarks!
This is like the 86th time YT recommended this video. Now I know why. Just stick to what got ya there, easier said than done! Glad I stopped by. What a great video. So well put together!! Great folks! Just a smoker all in all! Y’all take care!
Awesome video as always! This will probably get lost in the comments, but if you are looking for phenomenal small mouth fishing, I would recommend Voyaguers NP. Went there this past summer on a ten day canoe trip. Slammed smallies and pike consistently. Just a thought. Can’t wait for your next video already. Cheers!
So, this kinda felt like a promotional video, but I am actually 100% fine with that! Getting to know the person behind the songs makes me appreciate the music more! I dig his voice, I love the quality of your videos, and now I have to check out his music, and book a fishing trip to Arkansas.
He Scottie, incredible video as always. In regards to music, you need to check out Texas String Assembly. U might notice a similarity for most of the band members and yourself :)
JD has got himself a new listener - really like his style!
I second this!
Had a blast “working” with y’all on this! Great job!!
@@BluffLINEMedia likewise! Was a fun week. Thanks for being apart of it!

Nice to see another fly fishing musician. Grateful for JD's insight on the music industry and the creative process. Bravo guys.
love y'alls tunes! I foresee a few of them ending up in a future wild fly video...

Thanks Gatewood! I need to go see Shane Smith & the boys play sometime. And Time to start planning next years paddling trips 😈

never heard of him before, but now my wife and I have him all throughout our playlist. Awesome music.

This channel just gets better with every new video released! No other fly fishing channel comes close!
This is one of the best videos on TH-cam - keep making them!
This is a wild fly classic
Really enjoyable. I see a younger, thinner version of Lowell George in JD (especially in the overalls), one of the all-timers in the roots/blues vein.
Oh hell yes,
SCOTTY THE WILD FLY!

Can never get rid my bass roots that's all I want to catch on the fly. After I get over my leg injuries I'm deep diving back into it.
Saw the guitar in the canoe, immediately thought of Deliverance.
Half Chris Stapelton half Jack Black!

Did....did that dog in the truck have glasses on?
Have you heard of Colter Wall
Colter is incredible!
Almost stopped following you. Glad I watched. Anything but overrated, overcrowded, overfished, definitely overguided trout waters!
Well done
