Never imagined a fly fishing video would bring me to tears, but the whole hearted love and respect you all have for each other shines through. I have enjoyed your work, and am so excited to see what you have in store for us. Merry Christmas and be well, Stephen
That is one of the best videos I have ever watched on TH-cam. I'm 66 years old and started with my kids when they 6 years old. I cried, I laughed, I cheered. Thank you.
Scotty even though we don’t know each other personally, through your films I feel like I know you. I believe this is one of your best films ever . There’s nothing like family . Keep doing what you do.
What a beautiful and heart felt video to share with the world. You truly know how to capture the essence of family, community and fly fishing. Thank you for your contribution to fly fishing and film.
Good show Scotty. I’m glad I caught this live Nothing like watching a fishing trip while packing for a fishing trip. If I forget something… it’s your fault
Absolutely love the video and seeing the roots unite.. Especially the credit to your uncle to introducing you guys to this world that I recently discovered from your videos. Your uncle did more than introduce you, he opened a world to Fly Fishing that you channeled to the rest of us.
My daughter and I took out her fly rod for the first time on what we are calling "Real Fishmas" and then today on Boxing Day. On Christmas day we had a lovely time, I got some grabs, she got her line wet for the first time. Today, she got a 12 inch wild trout and had a bigger one one. I got a big rainbow, my biggest ever on my trout spey rod. We came home, had a beer, great Mexican food and watched this. A perfect day. Thanks and blessings to you and your family!
Not quite the same story and not all fly fishing, but this is my cousins and I with my uncle! He passed last year and I'm more than a little teary watching this. The third generation of this is my son and a bunch of guys who work for me (and a few more cousins) who are truly in love with the Rockies!! Magnificent!!
Family!! This is what it's all about. This film brought me back to my early days. Would be awesome to see you flyfish in Baldwin MI, the Pere Marquette for Steelhead!! This is where it began for me. 45 years ago!!! Merry Christmas!!!
Nice to be able to go out and do this and capture it for future generations of your family and friends. Fishing is not only about the fish it’s about the adventure . Don’t wait 10 more years to continue the story . Thanks for taking us along
Scottie, Thank you for such a well made and thoughtful film, exposing a genuine friendship and love of your cousins, and uncle that started on this journey with you some 10 years ago. What a fantastic and generous gift you gave to bring you all back together again for an epic fly fishing adventure. It truly moved me. What a legacy you all have. I can’t wait to see your next project.
What an awesome act of selflessness. Paying forward and getting the guys together in an amazing setting. Your character speaks for itself. I admire your craft, envy your ability to travel and get out to be Wild Fly. Keep ‘em coming. For those that can’t do it we can always share it. By far some of the best freshwater fly filming ever seen. Thank you.
What I just saw is exactly how fly fishing feels. Outstanding movie, you just captivated a feeling. WILDFLY is an experience and that’s what Fly Fishing is. Thank you Scotty I don’t have a favorite you tube video this is one is.
Thanks for all the amazing films that are comfort to me. I'm from Arkansas and have grew up fishing it's tailwaters. I would love for you and the short bus crew to come fish for trout and maybe even smallmouth in the same trip in Arkansas.
Scottie, your story and video's are a thing of beauty. My story is 30 years in the making of my Dad and I fishing in Northern PA and we are still going strong. My dad is now 80 and still looks forward to our week long trip every year. The crew now consists of my dad, brother, son and a life long friend. Thanks for truely making fly fishing a work on art. Your the best at what you do. Tight lines.
You and your channel have inspired me to get into fly fishing.. This film could have been 10 hours long and I would have watched every second! Much love
Bravo! Love your films, love your stories. I am reminded of Gordon MacQuarrie, the author. Like MacQuarrie's writing, your films are about fishing and the outdoors, but the stories are about how people are connected to each other...
Loved the back and forth of the past and present footage. Really loved the interview with your uncle at the end. Raw, real, and just plain good. Fantastic my friend
Writing in from Ak. I think that you guys should come up to Alaska. There is some of the best fishing from Prince William Sound for salmon to fly fishing for grayling and giant rainbows. Hope you guys continue doing what you love! Best Wishes
Would love to see yall fish New Mexico! Congrats on the 10 years, the films have gotten better every year I have been watching. Much love from New Mexico.
This film does a perfect job painting the picture that fly fishing isn't just about catching that big fish or how many you can catch in a day. It's about family and the friends you make along the way that share the same passion and comraderie. Awesome job
Such an awesome film!!! Love the family connection through the generations and the shear joy that comes through every one of you out there in nature, one with the river and fish. What a wonderful journey, keep following your passion!!
Wonderful. Full of inspiration and memories. I didn't know that by the end I would be in tears. My dad passed two years ago, I started down the path of fly fishing because I found a fly rod that he had turned into a crappie rig. Thank you for sharing your experiences and inspiring all of us to get out there and explore the wild.
The Anglers Nook!?!? I had no idea someone owned that place prior to George Schlotter. I cut my fly fishing teeth in that shop. Bought my first chicken neck there. Small world. Great video. Well done!
This was amazing and your videos are amazing always! I’d love to see WildFly come up to NH and fish the famous upper Connecticut River in Pittsburg, NH. It is a lot of fun.
Thank you for everything you've done over the last ten years. I found you in 2018, and the last five years have been met with a lot of lows, but I always knew I could find comfort and encouragement in your films. A North Carolina native currently living in the mountains, it's special to see where you've started and where you've gone. Your work truly is inspirational and has helped me reach goals in both my professional and fishing careers. Thank you so much and congratulations Scottie and the Wild Fly team.
Thanks!
I hope this wins some kind of shortfilm award!!
Film of the year right here!!!
Never imagined a fly fishing video would bring me to tears, but the whole hearted love and respect you all have for each other shines through. I have enjoyed your work, and am so excited to see what you have in store for us.

Absolutely got me choked up. My late grandfather taught me to cast. I absolutely loved this video. Thank you for making me think of him.😢😂
Nice piece of nostalgia. The Green above and just below Dardanelle is some great water.
This was awesome! I’d love to see you fish New Hampshire
would love to see you guys back in my backyard in the Alberta Rockies chasing cutts and bullies. Awesome vid, again!
I should be wrapping presents, but this is the best way to procrastinate!
Would it be a Wild Fly Production without Scotty losing a monster? Great video!
Couldn’t have been a true trip without that 😂 we’ve got a new video coming with redemption on that fish…
Absolutely love the video and seeing the roots unite.. Especially the credit to your uncle to introducing you guys to this world that I recently discovered from your videos. Your uncle did more than introduce you, he opened a world to Fly Fishing that you channeled to the rest of us.
Another great story. I’d love to see y’all go to south and catch something weird. Think Golden Dorado in Bolivia or billfish in Baja.
Thanks Scotty for bringing us along on this epic journey. Tight lines Bud!
