  • Watch this video to learn how to adjust the brightness of an L.E.D on a breadboard in the most simplest way!
The electronic components you are going to require are listed below👇
    COMPONENTS
    REQUIRED:- 1k Potentiometer
    470 Ohm Resistor
    Breadboard
    L.E.D
    9v Battery with Battery Clip.
Follow the steps in the video!
The potentiometer consists of 3 pins! Make sure you connect a 470 ohm resistor or (any resistor close to this range) to the middle (centre pin) pin of the potentiometer to avoid the L.E.D from burning out!
Then connect the L.E.D in series to this circuit.
    Now,
Connect the battery and with the help of a screwdriver adjust the potentiometer to increase or decrease the resistance of the potentiometer.
If you increase the resistance of the potentiometer then the L.E.D will be dimly lit.
If you decrease the resistance of the potentiometer then the L.E.D will be brightly lit.
Hence, you can adjust the brightness of an L.E.D by adjusting the potentiometer!

When I use the potentiometer the led won't turn off completely

i'm pretty sure it depends on the potentiometer your using range

@@xpple IDK, i used various types of potentiometer like 50k,10k,100k and same results

Yes that's because there is still the other resistor providing a path for power to flow. If you turn the pot to its min (0ohm), it's just bypassing the pot
