  • The T-Shirt is one of the most fun things to put art on and once the T-Shirt is in need of retirement a quilt is the next best place for the fabric art.

I made a t-shirt quilt for my daughter in 2015 from her soccer jerseys and hoodies. I had to wing it. Lately it seems that there are t-shirt quilts everywhere of course.

new to this and my first t-shirt quilt is OK on top, but the back is full of looping. Adjusted tension, changed threads, cleaned and oiled--and still--augh--what am I doing wrong?

might need a thicker/bigger needle - it is mostly under the paint of the shirts or just random?

@@MPQS under the whole thing. Even happens on the sash parts that have regular fabric. After taking apart the SECOND time, I decided to do it on my domestic machine with a walking foot in straight line quilting. Thank you for you help! I will keep in touch and continue to watch the videos to learn more! I've done t-shirt quilts that way in the past and it seems to work, well, it is MORE work, but the results are just as good.

I’ve never had my thread shred from going through the paint

How do you deal with a 3D t-shirt quilt? One that is more of a memory quilt with outfits randomly popping up?

Do you use a different needle in the longarm when quilting t-shirt quilts? Or does the stabilizer make a difference?
