    Picked up the boxset of Black Sails when I just randomly saw it on the shelf, never heard of it, thought I'd give it a go, really glad I did.

      This it's the best representation of pirate life on Nassau circa 1700's. really enjoyed that series myself.

    I always wonder how much should the tip of the blade be curved?
    Because I keep finding fantasy pirate cutlasses for a Halloween costume the ones where the tip of the blade is very widespread and the sword is ridiculously curved.
    I'm trying to find a plastic cutlass that looks like a real cutlass.

    I love this cutlass and I love the yataghan blade profile. It's reminiscent of Jody Sampson's work (RIP). I also love Black Sails! It's the greatest thing Michael Bay's ever been involved in.

      its not to hard, its a double set down, you can make a blacksmiths helper to do it by hand easier. il bring it up on mondays vlog

    Another great episode. A couple of questions; why grind the fullers as opposed to smithing them? What grade steel did you use for the blade? Cheers!

      @phoenixforge5944  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Forging them is tricky to get the fuller clean and consistent also you still need to polish them. It was En45
