We literally have nothing to choose from anymore at our local GW, the shelves are bare and I know people donate there all the time. It’s sad for people who really need stuff just starting out on their own.
Same here in Central Maine. And what they think is important is wildly overpriced. Small charity gift shops are better, but there are not that many...
Me too in Richmond VA. She inspires me to keep looking!
Then check the landfill because plenty more goes there. Quit your whining
Jeez. The way that woman just shoved those mugs onto the shelf, smashing into the other ones, no wonder there's so many cracks and chips. 😵💫
I always peel the stickers. I will not buy anything without looking under the sticker. AND take off the tape to insure it’s not hiding cracks or removing paint.
I take off the sticker too!
Me too! I'm always peeling stickers and their awful box tape. Uggghhh
Me too
...and then people wonder why the stores won't sell anything that isn't priced.
Yup, me too. If they don’t like it then they need to put the sticker in a different location. I do try to keep the scan part intact.
I’d love for a GW employee to explain why so many of them deliberately cover important information with price stickers. It’s more common than not to have dish markings purposely covered or, in the case of the canister, the word on the side. No way was that an accident.
It’s not deliberate. A lot of them are trained to put the stickers on the bottoms, where they won’t be seen on the shelf. It is also often the flattest surface, and the best place for the sticker to not come off
@@thebookcavalry Ok. What about the sticker covering the word on the canister? Why cover the title of the canister? The sticker could have gone anywhere.
One of my local Goodwill Enployees told me that they are told to cover the makers mark with stickers, unless there’s a small amount of damage & then they’re to cover the damage. When I asked what the point was, she said that they’ve never been told why & she didn’t think to ask. She said she would ask the next time she saw her boss, so if I see her again, I’ll ask her if she found anything out. It doesn’t make sense, does it?
@@LindaKayHolevas I appreciate your answer. That’s what I’ve always thought, but I can’t figure out a reason. I, for one, am more likely to make a purchase if I know exactly what I’m buying. Even at a thrift store.
@@rtallgal6871they do it at every store where I am in Georgia too. It is so aggravating. I also hate when they write with a marker and you can’t get it off.
The small pottery dish with the irises and cover is a Maine artist, Mary Kay Spenser. Love her work!
The “matchy match” pen holder paperweight was $225 best offer accepted! I think that was the real score today!!❤
ML is Michelle Luu Pottery
The Bo Melander paperweight is amazing! Great find.
GW was created to provide employment to people with all sorts of atypical mental and health conditions. As such there are many coaches in the mix as well. My sister was a coach. Anyway, many employees are only doing what they have been specifically trained to do. Be kind when you discuss how they do their work. Mental differences are not always apparent in appearance.
Yes. A very thoughtful post, indeed. The unkind comments about Goodwill employes exist because thinking is difficult. That's why most people judge.
Goodwill is not meant for reselling. It’s meant for the poorer people that just need a cup or want to decorate a little. I think they are trying to keep reselling down.
I found a Tiffany & Co trinket dish for under $5 at the Goodwill! It was undamaged as well!
We use to make bird feeder out of pinecones with peanut butter n bird seeds
The small round cup is for tea no saucer needed
Fun fact: one time I was at a flea market I picked up these adorable cat salt and pepper shakers. The lady want $5. Then I found a pretty big chip on the ear of one of them, I told her I probably didn’t want them because of the chip. But I bought a few other sets. She told me to keep the broken set, she hadn’t noticed the chip and was just going to throw them away if I left them. So I took them. Got home, looked them up about a week later and that set was very desirable and sold for over $200. So I listed them at 1/2 of sold comps and they sold within a week for $125.
So I never discount 1 undamaged shaker, you just never know unless you look them up 😉
You found some great pottery at that first GW! I wonder if it was a local artist closing shop? I do love a good hand made pottery mug! So much cooler to own than Starbucks or other mass produced mugs. ❤❤❤
The paperweight could also hold business card.
Pine cones make great bird feeders, with peanut butter and bird seeds.its fun to hang them around so you can watch different birds feed.we use to have pine trees but got rid of them years ago and miss making bird feeders.
I wish my Goodwill stores were like yours.
I was yelling at the screen when you passed on the Weekend platter. Lots of people collect these pieces. I sold a similar platter for $200.00.
That paperweight is gold! There was a pen holder identical that sold for $225!
Rae Dunn canister said either Sweets or Treats. More contemporary so good idea to pass on it.
Found some Waterford today but it's waterford I've never seen before. They are Waterford amethyst goblets. I learn something new everyday 😊
I find Waterford all the time at the Goodwill. Nothing else but that's it the shelves are empty.
@joanneverderico5040 I'm lucky that the Goodwill and other thrift stores near me bless me with some good stuff at times.
Would you happen to know where the Ohio vintage days? I can't seem to pull it up.
So many nice pottery mugs!!! 😊
Lamp lady passes all the lamps and makes a sprint for the baggies 😂😂😂
When I had a booth, the large pine cones were a good seller especially around the holidays. I had a resource where I could get them for free but others who didn’t appreciated we had them for sale
Fun to see you here in Frederick County, MD shopping in stores where I shop too.
Looks like-Rae Dunn Artisan Collection Red Gingham Plaid TREATS Canister Jar. See them listed for around $22 to $29. Plus shipping.
Salute to you ML. Your pottery is on point!
I love the paperweight. The colors are so cool
ML does nice work. Glad you could find so much of their items. Good finds today. Thank you for taking us.
FYI Here in the UK people use the small 'cups' ,which you are calling planters , as expresso cups.....supposedly very trendy!!!
That standing ashtray was pretty with gorgeous pick marble top. Can be a good holder for Keys or jewelry.
I think the paper weight also holds letters ..very cool
I am wild about Clarice Cliff, if I were to find something of hers in a thrift store, I would lose my mind! 🤯. ✌🏼❤️
Sweets on the Rae Dunn
I would have loved to have those silver lined plates for Christmas!
I believe that Iris lidded dish is a potter in Maine. I have several pieces I have been researching.
Just peel it, I do. We deserve to know.
Love your t-shirt today, Jocelyn.
I remember when it first premiered😮
love Clarice Cliff- maybe you will find one at the Goodwill- I have found a few at yard sales years ago- before antiques road show UK was on USA tv lol
I became familiar with it on a UK show called "Antiques Road Trip". I like how colorful it is.
The little perfume ball is a pomander. I used to have one in my chest of drawers to keep it smelling fresh.
Only if we could shop over each other's shoulders we'd be swamped with tons of stuff I pass by so much newer and older itialian & mexican pottery it's astounding 5-15 pieces per thrift store each day I just don't want it or have customers for it ,BUT here's a thanks to you I go now every day (4) shopping & I'm completely happy with the finds usually after a morning estate sale. Thrilled today w/a porsgrund hearts and pines 2 tier under $5
I liked that Rae Dunn cannister!! Found one listed on ebay for $40. It says "treats". Others with same design in blue in different sizes for about the same price.
Oooo! Think you might have missed a sweet yellow Dansk Kobenstyle piece @ the 7:48 mark. I never find those enamel pieces :-(.
I caught our Goodwill covering chips with the labels
The iris box is by a Maine potter
I love that little iris container.
The plate was for a candle stick 🕯️
I love Italian pottery. We took high school bus trips to Italy and other countries. It was fun.
Thanks for sharing.
Treats, the Rae Dunn mystery word is TREATS 😊
Mugs on buy it now with coffee offers...
It’s interesting that you found so much pottery, I just finished watching the Canadian potttery challenge on TH-cam hosted by Seth Rogan. It was cool to watch.
Based on the size, the canister said Treats. It was originally a set of two, the taller one saying Sweets.
Love the paperweight! The pottery mugs were super cool too. Really enjoyed the video, thanks
You should keep the paperweight and use it to store some Post-it notes in. It is really cool by the way.
We use pine cones for fire starters in the firepit and when camping
hello hon , love the paper weight..great look😊😊😊😊........ great share , thank you , for sharing🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰..........................
The red and white checked Rae Dunn container says "sweets" in very small cursive writing. It looks nothing like the typical Rae Dunn lettering. (As always, I was curious and looked it up on ebay!)
Am I the only one finding irony in the fact that the girl who loves silence is wearing an MTV shirt 😂
Love tagging along on a goodwill thrift! That goodwill has always been hot and miss for me (mostly miss) but you picked a great day! Nice finds - I wanted to tell you I found a glassy baby in the wild! Perfect condition - I think I danced a little in the aisle 😂
Hall pitcher would sell well. Cause of poppies on it !!!!
I found a glassy baby today for.......2.99. Score.
Loved the video ❤😊. Have a good day😊.
That red and white Rae Dunn canister was cute though, as was that yellow paper weight.
Loving that paperweight and Tiffany carafe!💕
Eggtastic at 7.55 Dagny's stalker😄
Gosh .you were right next to the😊 Southern Living Gail Pittman pitcher
A lot of Gail Pittman’s Southern Living At Home pieces don’t sell for much. Many of them were mass produced in China even.
Loved all the beautiful pottery. 😊
I have the Rae Dunn little plates that have turkeys and the words Gobble Gobble on both😊
Love those ML Mugs. So glad you’ll make money on them. I don’t like owls, I believe they’re bad luck. I always buy Ray Dunn for my personal collection.
The Coca-Cola nut dispenser in the first Goodwill's fresh cart goes for $20-$25... good piece to pick up at only $4.49.
Cute items on Affordable prices
Yea!!! Love your thrifting videos🥰
Lol…maybe I should bag up pine cones out of my yard & sell them on marketplace 😂
@@donnaleigh2356 it is a thing. Some people don’t have them and want them.
@@mamaG4 wow! I thought everybody had pine trees. We are covered in them here in Alabama.🤷♀️
@@donnaleigh2356 I live in Alabama too! Huntsville area. Apparently many people up here don’t have access to pine cones especially the really big ones! I could sell them for $3 each or 2 for $5 all day. Maybe not a lot really but I kept a big basket of them stocked as often as I could and they always sold.
@@mamaG4 I’m in central Alabama north of Montgomery & they are everywhere here.
Hello from Mexico 👋
Perhaps the yellow “paperweight” is a business card holder?
the lovely yellow thing, business card holder, maybe?
I had a neighbor who would buy dinosaur toys and arrange them in her yard, to keep birds and squirrels out of it.
Where has Eric been? Miss your trips to the flea market.
The little yellow item you got at 2nd goodwill could be a business card holder!
Or to lay pens on!
I love love Mary Gold 😊
Lóve love love the paperweight❣️🎈
Thank u so much for putting what stuff sells for I’m got a lot to learn been posting on poshmark
I would love finding hall china in minnesota's goodwills orange poppy I would keep that for me boy oh boy what different parts of the country have ! I've seen you go for crocks ,& with redwing stoneware-pottery here I pass it by aplenty except good pieces .
Missed Danks Kobenstyle at 1:59 eek
Came to say the same thing
What is that?
Love your videos
15:50 those are cute they’re like sauce dishes?
Morning, I don't even have a goodwill here in Brooklyn just a salvation army store and it's not that great mostly clothing 😊
What a great find with the Tiffany. I wish I could find carnival glass at my Goodwill here in Newberg,Oregon. On the west coast. It seems it just doesn't exist out here. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day The Rae Dunn canister I believe I Googled it Says SWEET
The water globe was it missing the plaque on front
Thanks 😊
Good morning good afternoon whichever one it is hope you're having a good day
I found a Tiffany tumble up in Thurmont. Sold it for $50
You have a lot of restraint not peeling the sticker back. I feel if I'm going to buy something I have a right to know what I'm buying. Great paperweight and tumble up. You'd think it wouldn't be so plain being Tiffany & Co
Dutch Klompen 1.42.
Oh no, we will be tormented now wondering what the word on the Rae Dunn was! 😂😂
It was Sweets
I want to go to that Mid-Ohio but I don't know where it is can you please give me information
Info on the Internet.
Another great video, bit a very noisy place. Lol
Would love to purchase Beauty and Beast Globe, where do you have it listed.
I have yet to find any goodwill that has anything worth anything on the shelves. Good stuff sold in their eBay stores. Are you actually for real???
I love the pig with the handle, she didn’t pick it up😢.
You missed it a pottery platter with vegetables on it 😢at the beginning
Wheel peel and deal
Come on GoodWill covering up the word on Ray Dunn 🤷♀️
On the other hand, it was good for the TH-cam algorithm.
