personally I don't understand why would you need a browser extension when there's already a delcated app. You can choose whether to exclude app(s)/IP(s) from going through VPN or only let certain app(s)/IP(s) go through VPN with the app anyway
Hi Tom, I like your content. I am confused about some VPNs to buy can you help me with this? I am considering between TorGuard, NordVPN, PIA, Proton VPN, and WeVPN. I use it for torrenting, streaming, and staying anonymous while browsing from public Wifi. Which one will you recommend?
@Kyle Movie & TV Reviews I did it already and it shows me TorGuard but I want split tunneling because I only want specific apps to be operated by VPN, not all the apps. And the app kills switch too. That's why I wanted Tom's suggestion.
@@samee9978 I believe Google and Android devices support spit tuneling on Express, Nord, and Surfshark (though it's more of a whitelist). I can't really speak for other OS's and VPNs. The Mac doesn't support split tunnel on Express because of what Apple has done in recent years. Hope some of this points you in the right direction.
One negative note about it is that after reboot we need to start the thing again (and it is slow) and then we need to connect again (though this part is fast). Isn't there a way that it starts and connects automatically after starting the pc?
I'm a while late, but you can usually assign automatic startup under the startup tab in Task Manager, just select the appropriate program and enable automatic startup
I have 1 gig download, and I tested multiple servers on their Free plan and got around 800 mbp/s on all of them in NA. which is really good. Do you think I will get the same speeds on the paid, or do you think somehow they are buffing their speeds on Free to make it look better?
Sometimes it’s necessary though as some applications won’t work with VPNs. For Example if you have Ring security cameras it will no longer work with a VPN, so you need to use split tunnelling.

Can SOMEONE explain how -- if you have Proton or Nord VPN -- ON YOUR ROUTER (to handle all your devices in one place), if there is a Windows desktop app for MANAGING that ON THE ROUTER ( rather than having to use the router's geeky dashboard?) I can find no answer to that, including from either Nord OR Proton. Hello?
Short answer, I believe so. But the only way to do so would be via the geeky difficult to explain methods. I think I saw a way to use a raspberry pi as a router that has a build in vpn being used for any connected devices. Might be the easiest way to do it. In all honesty I’m not sure even sure if this is a very reliable bit of information cause I’m a self learner/do’er when it comes to this stuff and tend to keep things I do to the beginner friendly category. Just saw nobody had responded and didn’t want ya to go unheard lol

You cannot install a dedicated app if you don't have admin rights. The extension can be installed in a portable browser.

@@commodorex 9 months ago, it wasn't possible (on Linux) but few months after they made a huge upgrade, and it works perfectly since.
What good are rouser extensions? Do they not count against your devices used?

@@andrut04 ye i bought it recently, get 800 download and 230 upload, my speeds without vpn are 900 230.

Using split tunneling makes the public IP leak though :( That sucks
